I’ve got a theory. The dark realm is going to possibly be a version of Halloween town (so we’ll get OUAT’s version of a nightmare before Christmas with Jack Skellington) and also residing in the dark realm will be the Boogeyman who could possibly be the villain for Season 7. My money is on Doctor Facilier though who plans to bring his “friends on the other side” over to Storybrooke.
Not sure if Doctor Facilier can be pegged as a OUAT series finale villain though.
Unless he brings villains with him.

Yeah I agree. If we are to assume there will be one more final season after this, I’m not sure Dr. Facilier will cut it unless there’s more. But at this point, I’m not sure who they have left. Assuming black fairy wraps up this season, which maybe it won’t and I hope it doesn’t), and Jafar does as well, who is left that would be a major end of the series villain? I persona;lly have always wanted that person to be Rumple.
I’m with Michael and Darkonedearie. I don’t think Dr. Falicier has “final series villian” feel. He would have been good as a one off with Hades. My money is on Rumple being the final season villian. Or if they wanted to be less predictable, then they could have the villian be this world–like citizens discover magic and Storybrooke and the final arc is about escaping out of SB back to the EF.

I would be ok with this.
I think the ending needs to be them all going back to live in the EF regardless of who the villain is.

I honestly dont know anymore how i feel about them going back to the EF. Would Emma want that? Would she be happy living there? Would Henry? I think SB is going to be the final home but theyll have some way to travel back and forth whenever they want

The original reason given was because Regina had “gone soft” but it was later course-corrected that she simply hadn’t believed in herself. It seems both she and Zelena can use it now
