December 7, 2014 at 9:12 pm #292337KebParticipantFavorites:
–The battle in the jail
–The dwarf trying to get Dopey to talk
–The snow falling and breaking the spell
–Helpful timeline year guides (first guess: DQ found out that Emma had a baby in prison and decided to wait in Storybrooke…would be fascinating if Pinocchio got involved in that, and that’s my new headcanon)
–DQ managing to be creepy and still loveable all at once. Cleverly done.
–The star alignment thing explaining why Rumple’s time scale felt off–why he’s both rushing and hesitating at the same time. Works for me.Least favorites:
–Not NEARLY enough Henry.
–Hardly any Belle at all
–I wanted to see more Hook trying to catch Henry scenes tooKeeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. December 7, 2014 at 9:14 pm #292339RumplesGirlKeymasterThis was easily my favorite episode of the season. It was rather silly and nonsensical and there are a lot (holy moly a lot) of convenient plot devices at work, but I was able to over look them (which is a good thing) in this case because the story was fun. However, I do have some things that did bug. One or two really big ones.
LIKED
–Emma, Elsa, and Anna working together in the cave
–DARK SNOW AND REGINA!!! Tell me this isn’t EXACTLY like fandom fighting! “You said you could keep a secret!” “I WAS 10!!!!!!!” Dude, I have broken up so many of those stupid fights, I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically.
–Elizabeth Mitchell. For everything.
–The flashbacks were really well done. Bravo to the cast
–Lots of funny one liners
–The Snow and Charming kiss. It’s been too long since we got that.
–Henry and the marbles
DISLIKED
–Holy convenient plot devices. I mean…DANG. The “pure hatred” one was just laughably stupid. The message in a bottle that is like some long lost confession that gets the villain to turn around just in the nick of time.
–No Belle and almost no Henry…I really wanted something from Henry and Hook…
–Suicide as happy ending. I have a lot of very troubling issues with this. And I want to state this up front: I get it; it’s “sacrifice” not “suicide” to some. But I think everyone needs to consider what was being said, “now I can join my sisters” and that death is her happy ending. I don’t think A and E realize how very triggering this is. We all knew Rumple wasn’t dead and would return somehow…but Ingrid deciding to kill herself (even if it was done with noble intentions) that bothers me from a VERY personal and deeply troubled place. I know many people are going to disagree with me, so I won’t harp on it, but it’s something that doesn’t sit right with me.
–Rumple really does want world domination. What the—!!!!!!! If they don’t explain this and SOON I might lose my mind.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 7, 2014 at 9:25 pm #292347KebParticipantAlso, all the applause to the casting department (and the young actors) for once again making me blink in disbelief about two different people playing the character–there was a moment when Young Emma’s expression was just SO Emma I had no trouble believing that it was a continuous character, even only two years before the Emma we see stealing a stolen car.

December 7, 2014 at 11:14 pm #292386onceaholicParticipantUntil now I have hated this season, but I loved this episode.
LOVED
-The part when SQ sacrificed herself had me in tears.
-Lana Parrilla’s Evil Queen. So creepy but oh so funny.
-Everyone in the station laughing about the situation they found themselves in.
-The hint that Cruella De Vil is coming up via Emma catching the dog in the machine.
-No Robin in sight for the reunion scene.
HATED
-They did not clarify that the wishing star only has one wish, or one wish per person with a pure heart. I think we are just meant to assume it.
-Not enough of Rumple’s plan.
-We didn’t get to see the Evil Queen lick the sword. (Perhaps it was a bit too much for younger audiences).
FUNNY MOMENTS
-Snow and Regina’s sword fight looked more aggressive and convincing than anything Charming has ever done.
-One of the dwarves catching the snow with his tongue at the end.
-All of the Evil Queen.
Ingrid is now dead, taking the effects of her magic with her so I expect to see Marian, unfrozen alive and well in ep 11.

And it’ll have been an act of true love that broke Marian’s curse after all. (At least with Disney glasses on.)

December 8, 2014 at 1:48 am #292398CorbinParticipantIt’s late, so mine will be quick, but I did really like this episode. This season has been iffy at best, mostly because it’s been really inconsistent, but this was a really strong episode
LIKED:
– The “psychic.” It was fun to see a psychic-for-hire, and I liked the banter with Ingrid.
– Every moment with Regina. From Evil Queen to loving mother, she was great.
– Snow doing things! Her banter with David was hilariously good, and her kicking the stuffing out of Regina was great. Hopefully, we get more of these moments in 3B.
– Ingrid’s sacrifice. Yes, she did kill herself. However, sacrificing yourself for the greater good of everyone isn’t, in my opinion, straight up suicide. I’m not going to dwell on the touchy aspects of it, but I did think it was a touching moment and a fitting end for Ingrid, since she did get what she wanted.
DISLIKED:
– Ingrid’s sudden reversal. When she touched the stone on the letter, it seemed to indicate that she was given back these memories. However, she never got them taken away. Therefore, I don’t see why she would just be all, “Oh, I now remember my sister’s love that I knew she had for me and was just angry at the moment. Let me go ahead and kill myself now, even if it is a sacrifice for the greater good.” Touching moment, yet caused by a confusing turnaround.
– The attached image should explain it all, if you replace the cat’s head with Rumple’s.
Overall, probably my favorite episode of this half.
