    The implication of second chance seem tangential to me its more likely symbolic of a fully-formed transformation from a lowly spiritual condition to one of highest illumination that is  if the reference is Regina-specific and has been in the works from the time of her birth to the present. If I were to read it symbolically, I would speculate that the dark place Regina is in presently and has been in from the time of Daniel’s death is effectively her chrysalis stage and the ultimate end state of that transformation hinges on what happens from here till the end of the series.
