Maybe Robert does not approve of Hook for his granddaughter which makes sense since he killed him.

Maybe but like you said Robert vanished when Charming got peace, which is why I think Charming was seeing him now and not last half when he was given the coin. After Emma vanishing and his new sleeping curse with Snow, he’s feeling the pressure of his father’s death now more than ever.

Someone suggested upthread that Emma and Hook will agree to not tell Charming and I get the feeling that might be spot on. Charming is at peace with his father and his death and Hook and Emma won’t want to rock the boat given how crazed Charming got this episode.

This reveal is just gross. A show that champions families is showing its premier family to be built on a web of lies and murder? I know it’s always been like this, what with Regina’s past crimes and all, but now it’s gone up another level. It really is drama for drama’s sake, with a good dose of ‘ick’ factor thrown in. Otherwise, I can’t begin to fathom what point they are trying to make here.

I’m not a fan of this. Its so contrived how interwined all these characters are to one another.

And of course, we all know this wont mean absolutely anything. David will forgive him and that’s that.

Half way through the episode I was actually expecting the Black Fairy to be the culprit. That she had taken Prince James off to whatever dark realm she is from and that would tie the two stories together, and I think I may have preferred that.

Is it me, or were the writers aware of the “Hook killed PapaCharming” theory? It felt like they were intentionally trying to throw people off from it for the majority of the episode, only to go “Surprise! It was Hook!” literally within the last few minutes. I recall the theory dates back to SDCC, based on comments Josh and Colin made.

Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past A&E. They pay attention to Twitter for some reason. I think they did it to mess with people. They also really like to drudge up stuff they know will cause a reaction, and I’m almost positive they do it on purpose. (Probably because they’re desperate to keep this show going, and they might misguidedly think that bad publicity is still publicity). At least it gets people angrily tweeting (even though this may backfire and have even fewer people tune in next week as a result).

    Just saying…

Killian knew immediately upon seeing the picture that he killed Robert. He had know idea the entire episode until that moment and I’m sure it’s gonna kill him even more now.

Regina saw Marian right in front of her and didn’t remember killing her even though she did. “She was awfully Vanilla, could you blame me”?

I mean you want to talk redemption arcs…

I don’t understand why does it matter that he was David’s father? If it was just random nobody, would it be ok? Would he feel bad about it?

This will be brush aside like doesn´t matter, i mean according to the latest spoilers( 620) we know nothing will come from this, i mean look at Zelena, she gloads about killing Neal, she doesn´t even feel sorry about it and they all let her hang out with them and want her to be happy,so why would they not do the same with hook? specially if he says he is sorry, i mean Regina killed Snow Father, and lets not forget that they dont seem care about everyone else crimes besides Rumple, i mean, everyone else never get`s a real call out for the crimes they did, they all get the same line " You came a long way, you are a Hero now", of course if they dont go and do like they did with Regina/Marion/Zelena and in 617, they change who was the person that kill him.

"I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

Of course he would, as we saw last season Killian killed people and he never forgets them. He uses things like the rings as a reminder of his past and to not go back to it. It was in Birth.

So of course he recognized the person on site. But then again his kill count is probably nowhere close to Regina or Rumple’s level.
