In one of the sneak peaks, it shows Mary making the same speech she made in the pilot episode. I assuming that Storybrooke was on a time loop before Emma arrived in Storybrooke.

I really wanted to see how many times Mary has stated that speech if Storybrooke was on a time loop.So I basically did this math equation- 28 (the number of years Storybrooke has been affected by the curse until Emma shows up) x 365 (the number of days included in a non-leap year) + 7 (the number of leap days that happened in 28 years). I came up with the number 10227.

Now, I have done a little research and I have found that the number 10227 is actually a Star Wars/Legos reference. If you don’t believe me, take a look at this- http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Dailego-B-Wing-Fighter-10227/dp/B009OJGLR4

That’s interesting but I don’t think it’s the same day over and over. I think it’s the same year over and over, with some of the same moments being repeated, but iteration of the same year is slightly different. So while year one (from the sneak peak) after Snow gives the bird house speech, Regina shows up and takes her to see Charming, in the second iteration of that year, Regina does not show up. The reason Snow continues to give the same speech is because it’s what was planned that day for teaching and to her, the year is 1983 over and over. At least, that’s how I am understanding the curse from what Adam has tweeted recently.

So you’re saying that Snow said the “They will always find each other” bird line 10227 times?!?!?!?!?! That’s pretty freaky……. Oh and what RumplesGirl said, welcome to the fourms!

Well she may or may not have but …wouldn’t that also = the number of days that SB was ‘frozen” until Emma shows up?? That is either one crazy coincidence…or it’s why they chose 28 instead of a nice round 30 lol

If that’s the case, that is incredible! I’ve always wondered about the concept of being “frozen in time.” I always just assumed the days went by, in a very distinct haze, and the characters never quite connected themselves to their current reality (ie: not remembering how they met each other, etc). If it really is the same day though, Henry would have obviously noticed. He’s been around for 10 years, and as we know isn’t cursed in any capacity. Although, if it’s just the same year repeating, or something like that, that would explain why in the promo Mary Margaret was giving the bird speech again. Anyway, there is something going on for sure. I’m hoping the concept of being frozen in time is explored more!
