Is Zelena also Dorothy?

The Wizard gave Zelena a pair of silver slippers like in the book, The Wizard of Oz. (only ruby in the 1939 movie)

Does this make her Dorothy as well as the Wicked Witch?

And if not, might we someday see the real Dorothy (and would she have the shoes?)

I believe she knows Dorothy and uses her for something. She trades the slippers for something Dorothy has access too. Zelena, like Cora is very calculating. This is different from Regina. Regina goes with her emotion suddenly. We saw that in Zelena but after Rumple let her go, she had the fire that Cora had.

I don’t think she’s Dorothy. Rumple sent Jefferson to Oz to get the slippers, but Jefferson said they’d moved on, so I think Zelena gave them to Dorothy to use to get rid of them so Rumple couldn’t ever get them.

I was going to say that Rumple had known about the shoes prior to Zelena using them and that when Jefferson had said they had moved on it was because Zelena had used them to go to the enchanted forest so she could be Dorothy. Now thinking about it more, Regina at the time of Rumple and Jefferson’s conversation had already learned to use some magic but when Rumple met Zelena, Regina was still struggling to learn basic magic. So I guess it depends when these events took place. If the conversation between Jefferson and Rumple took place after Zelena went back to Oz then the shoes where used once again by Dorothy. So Zelena might not be Dorothy. Wow I think I just gave myself a headache. 😛

I think Zelena may have used Dorothy’s heart to cast the curse.

Dorothy lands in Oz, is taken in by Zelena, mothered, and then used to cast Zelena’s curse.

On Timeline: thanks for clarifying that makes so much sense now. So this falls in between We are both and the doctor. i loved that rumple almost had the chance to solve his vaelfire problem sitting in front of him for at least a week and he did not know it.

So I guess it depends when these events took place.

I think that Zelena revealing the slippers to Rumple happened not long at all before the scene we got with Rumple, Jefferson and Regina.

Very soon after Zelena left with the slippers, Rumple put in the call to Jefferson, because he wasn’t yet fully convinced of Regina’s capabilities and also the slippers would get him to Bae much quicker than waiting out the Curse process. At the time Zelena got back to Oz, that’s also when Dorothy was there, and then Jefferson showed up and started nosing around for the slippers for Rumple, and when Zelena heard about that, she gave the slippers to Dorothy so she could take them out of Oz. Then Jefferson went back to FTL and we got the scene of him with Rumple and Regina. I’m thinking that all took place over the course of, like, a week or something, so Regina in this ep is at the same stage of her magical ability as she was in The Doctor.
