Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman—even when she’s playing a horned villainess!

In the first Maleficent poster, released Tuesday, Nov. 12, Brad Pitt‘s love manages to still look flawless even when portraying the self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil.

In the Disney film, Angelina, 38, stars as Maleficent herself, the evil force who puts a curse on Princess Aurora (aka Sleeping Beauty). Elle Fanning plays Aurora in the film, but the story is told from Angelina’s character’s point of view.

Angelina’s transformation into Maleficent was so convincing that she terrified small children—even in real life! “These little kids would visit the set, and I would think, ‘Oh, I am a Disney character,’ so I would go over to them, and say, ‘Hi there.’ They would just scream,” she said at a Disney expo in August.  “One little kid even said, ‘Mommy, please make the mean witch stop talking to me.'”

“Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who didn’t scream when she saw me,” she joked. That’s probably a big part of why little Viv was cast to play young Maleficent in the movie!

And since Angie herself “was a little girl,” Maleficent has always been her favorite. “I was terrified of her, but I was so drawn to her,” she said. “She had this elegance and grace, and yet she was so cruel. Just wonderfully and deliciously cruel.”

Well, this should be interesting to see. Although Maleficent doesn’t hit theaters until 2014, a short trailer for the film will be released Wednesday, Nov. 13. Who’s excited to see Angie playing evil?!

Thanks for the poster and links and articles. Had to snort when reading in the report about the D23, that Jolie said there, they wanted to stay true to the original – which meant the Disney movie obviously, not the original story. Considering that one of the first recorded tellings of Sleeping Beauty includes rape (the prince takes her while she is asleep, so without her being able to give consent, doesn’t matter they love each other later), no true love’s kiss … that would make for some movie Disney never ever will make.

Will be interesting what is their take on how Maleficent became so “nasty”.

But of course Jolie manages to look flawless, though don’t know what that has to do with being married to Brad Pitt. Seriously, why does that have to be mentioned at all, she is a great actress no matter who she is married to. Jolie has make-up artist on the set seeing to her looking good no matter what. Some people would be surprised how good they would look with a professional taking care of them. Really, sometimes these celeb and movie gossip articles are ridiculous, and badly written. Hidding the lack of truely interesting information.

    ¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯
