But maybe that love is one-side. I mean I think Philip loves her in a sister/friend kind of way but everyone knows he belongs with Aurora. Because of this, she says nothing, even going as far as to volunteer to take on the mark so they can be together. I think that says a lot of her character. I do hope she finds her one true love (shang) but i’m thinking maybe he got sucked into Storybrook and She didn’t or something like that. It would give her a chance to find him (or for him to find her) AND it would give the writers more opportunities to put her in the story.

If it does maybe it could serve as a link between the worlds. People in Storybrook could go to what’s left of their home (it may be in ruins, but it’s still home) and the survivors may go to Storybrook (It’s not home, but it’s a nicer place) if they want. It would be an interesting way to shake things up, but i’m not sure the show is ready for it just yet.

And her having feelings for Philip is not a big surprise–they were together for a long time, had fought together–that does form bonds.
I didn’t blame Aurora for being a bit snappish–she feels jealous that Philip was with another woman while she slept on in a curse.

I hope i will warm to them over the next episode, as there is almost nothing i hate about this show, and it may be just because they are new characters and, as yet, fairly unexplored. we shall see i guess? 🙂

I think Mulan and Phillip were (sexually/romantically)together during the 28 year gap. It seems clear that through they were not transported to Storybrooke, they were still effected by the curse. Obviously, the not aging part. But what if they didn’t have their memories either – would explain why Phillip hasn’t managed to save Aurora in 28 years, he didn’t remember her.
Because of that, the Mulan/Phillip/Aurora triangle is a parallel to David/MaryMargarent/Katherine – which also got a lot of hate and was really annoying. As fans that grew up with these stories and already know that A+B = true love, I think that explains the whiplash to some extent. Like Abigail when Snow called her ‘the nag with the bad attitude’, fans were quick to accept that because it was getting in the way of what we knew needed to happen.
I don’t hate Mulan, I think she will grow on me when we see a more dimensional character. I’m not even sure if it’s the acting right now, or that Mulan is trying to come off as strong/emotionless to mask her discomfort in the situation.I hadn’t looked at it from that point of view and I actually understand it. I guess I’ll just have to give it a view episodes and see it develop a bit more. Our minds are so pre-programmed on what the stories are supposed to be that it is quite fun to see how the creators make up there own storylines.

I don’t hate her, but I don’t love her either 😉
I don’t really know why, I too just hope she will grow on me as the season progresses.I actually didn’t mind Kathryn, they were all under the curse (what I was was annoyed with was David messing them both around lol) & I didn’t approve of her slapping & dressing down MM because David had lied to her.
True I didn’t like her FTL counterpart to begin with, but that was on account of her negative/snooty attitude for the 1st couple of times we saw her.
When she rescued Charming, I went ohhhhhhhh, she’s not so bad after all 😉October 3, 2012 at 3:33 am #155212faux paxParticipantThat’s one of the things I love most about this show. Everyone can have their own opinions, but there is no character that is hated by all (or even a significant portion) of the fans. Everyone has redeeming qualities even if they are evil or a twisted little imp.

I liked that she was cool and tough and I thought her story had a realistic, tradgic element to it that ftl sometimes misses in the the wake of all the true love and stuff. I actually likes her even more because of her juxtaposition with aurora, who I’m definetely gunna need to warm up to.
