why she does what?
let’s try to see it on Mulan’s side shall we? The wraith comes and in a series of unfortunate events, lead to the death of Philip. Now in the rumbles of where the wraith came from, you found two women you have never before seen in your life, so you don’t take a chance and tied them up in order to question them later on. you bring them back to camp and they try to run. of course you put them in the pit after a stunt like that!
Mulan’s action are justified.

Keeper of Pandora's Box & The Yellow Brick Road.

Ummmm – I didn’t include spoilers because it’s the E1 thread not E2 we are discussing (you may want to black out what happens in the sneak peek in your above post to save spoiling others).
My point was- if you read my post- I’m not disliking her just because she tied them up,knocks out Snow rather than having someone just grab them & then chucks them in a pit, she has her reason’s to want to do that, all of which aren’t entirely known to us yet (aside from ‘thinking’ they are the reason the wraith turned up) & so I haven’t made up my mind. 😉
However there is no rule that says I have to love or even like Once’s version of Mulan just cause she’s not a bad guy 🙄
I don’t hate her yet, so I stand by what I said – the jury is still out for me 😉October 5, 2012 at 10:44 am #155557PheeParticipantI think there’s a lot of potential for Mulan to be a great character. We’ve barely seen any of her story so far, and I’m guessing it’ll be a complex and tragic tale. The love triangle vibe did bug a bit, because they don’t need to go there if they want to create drama. But I’m hoping it doesn’t become a full blown love triangle thing, and hopefully Mulan’s own true love will come along soon.

But maybe that love is one-side. I mean I think Philip loves her in a sister/friend kind of way but everyone knows he belongs with Aurora. Because of this, she says nothing, even going as far as to volunteer to take on the mark so they can be together. I think that says a lot of her character.
Agreed, it’s definitely a one sided thing IMO. He probably doesn’t even realise she’s ever looked at him in a romantic light, because the whole time they’ve been together, he’s had the focus of finding Aurora. That kind of dedication to the woman you love, that’s an attractive quality, plus the dude is cute, and heroic, so I can’t fault Mulan for crushing on him. 😉
Seriously though, what I got from the character in this first ep is that she’s very loyal, strong willed, and not afraid of anything, and I’m looking forward to learning more about her. The actor did miss the mark a time or two, but I can forgive that and give her an ep to find her feet with playing this new character.
