I really need them to officially tell me how old Rumple is. Because if Bae came through at the age of 14 in 1858 (at least) and it’s 2013 now…then Bae is 155 years old. And Rumple, being around 35-ish when Bae was born is about 190..

All this math. I’m looking at the wanted poster. The text is a bit blurred but March 23, 1977 could have been just the date Bae arrived back in our world after being stuck in Neverland for so long. And apparently, he came through and ended up in New Jersey.
I tend to think that he arrived in our world at the age of 14 in 1991 making him 24 when he met Emma and then his DOB would be 1977 to account for him already being 14 . *this paragraph took far too much effort to figure out, btw. I hate math. *hate**
actually, that makes more sense.

Anyway, if anyone’s been looking at the timeline on the website…I’ve been working on it a LOT the last few days. In the process, I’ve also been making some corrections and changes to my own timeline. The biggest thing is I’ve been trying to work out how to account for known dates (like Emma’s birthday, Valentine’s day, etc) in the timeline, since if we go by curse years (as in the day that everyone wakes up from the curse is 1/1/0 (or 1/1/1)), the software thinks it’s January 1st instead of October 23rd as we know it to be. So I did some remathing around the dates that have a known corresponding earth date, both in my timeline and on the site’s, so that the months would correlate.
That means I’ve got weirdness like half of season one happening in year 27 (you’d think 28, but Emma doesn’t turn 28 until October 22nd of that year…). I’m not sure how better to resolve it atm, unless I just go with earth years as well (and at this point, I kinda could).
I’ll be posting a newer version of my timeline after I decide how to deal with a few more things and finish what I’m up to on the site’s timeline. (I’ve got everything that happens through the curse breaking now, but that leaves all the present stuff from season two yet.)
There were some interesting things that happened as I adjusted the dates, however. I decided to go with Bae’s birthday matching the one on Neal’s wanted poster, for example, and wound up with the Seer’s warning being about the Ides of March. Miner’s Day wound up on Snow’s birthday. Snow and Charming’s public wedding wound up exactly a year before Emma’s birthday.
Of course, all of that stuff was initially based on rough estimates anyway–days relative to the events before after and random educated guesstimates–but I didn’t see the coincidences until I remathed a bunch of stuff to figure out month/day. And they’re too pretty for me to want to change now without good reason.
As always, though, I’m open to feedback on both versions.

Nah, he actually says, “this world wasn’t my first stop when I left home.” The only way they can really rationalise it is if they say, “Well Victorian London seems like a totally different world compared to modern day Manhattan.” But that’s a really fanwanky way of having to explain it. Even if Nealfire wasn’t immediately aware when he landed in America in the 80s that it was the same physical world that Victorian London had been in, boyfriend has had plenty of time to learn himself some basic history and figure it out, so he should choose his words more carefully. 😛
May 22, 2013 at 4:02 pm #195721KebParticipantWell, basically what I wound up with when I tried to make the months/days match up to known dates was 2011=27 AC (after curse) and 1983 = 1 BC.
So in a way it’s a little confusing, but it means that October on the timeline is October instead of January.

May 22, 2013 at 8:38 pm #195745KebParticipantOk. Season 2 is giving me a serious headache. Thing is, season one, there are places where I can add a week or two easily as needed. Some stuff clearly is “the next day” between episodes but others, there is room for expansion. Season 2 is super-super-super tight for the most part, with diagetic clues EVERYWHERE that say no, Keb, you may NOT add any more time here. For example, when Henry runs off to blow up magic, Neal says it’s his third day as a father…that makes -sense- but only if they were only in Manhattan for the two days we actually see. (Miiiiiiiiiiiiiight be able to squeeze an extra day or two before they find Neal, but Gold seemed to know precisely where to go–why would he wait?)
But the events of 211-212-213 are all within two days, running up against each other with no pause or chance for added time. 214-215-216 seem to be the next two days, again, without pause.
And then there’s the ridiculous beans that apparently grow overnight. They get them in 213 and by 219 they’re almost ready to use. As we see, 213-216 is only about 3 days. There appears to be about a week between 217 and 218; Snow tells David she went to Regina “last week.” One could perhaps squeeze another week in before 219 believably, but that’s two whole weeks that Gold does -nothing- to reconnect with Belle or Bae?
*headache* Oh, on top of that, there’s the matter of Snow’s birthday, which for various reasons I believe to be the third of March. The cumulative events before that just don’t give us enough time to get to winter, let alone March, from the time the curse ended. Like I said, stuff is just too -tight- in S2. Yet Adam’s said that each season takes about a year. I dunno who he’s got doing HIS timelining, but their heads must hurt too.

May 22, 2013 at 8:53 pm #195746RumplesGirlKeymasterI feel like it’s impossible for S2 to be a year long….
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 22, 2013 at 9:53 pm #175604obisgirlParticipantMy feeling is all the events in Season 2 take place within one month’s time. I would be shocked if it spans longer than that.
May 22, 2013 at 10:07 pm #195752DemiletoParticipantI wouldn’t bother too much trying to fit Storybrooke events within a calendar, Keb. This kind of thing matters little to the writers, what’s important to them is to ensure each episode leads to the next one. You don’t want a headache when they state next season that Henry is 12, do you? 🙂
May 22, 2013 at 10:13 pm #195753obisgirlParticipantYeah, I agree. What happens in Fairytale land and other lands, that’s really more important.
