Yeah, but in S2, what’s happening in the other lands is sometimes concurrent with SB. And i managed to get S2 to about 2 months, just barely.

May 28, 2013 at 5:28 pm #196421KebParticipantI haven’t updated mine yet (lots of changes) cuz I’m fighting with some math on some of the dates that I shifted around, but I’ve got the site’s timeline completed through season 2. More or less. I’ll tinker, I’m sure, and if people notice important things that are missing or wrong, I’d love to hear about it so I can fix stuff. It’s much less detailed than my timeline for a number of reasons, and with the “current time” stuff I’ve been trying to sum up the episodes in as few events as possible since that’s all very linear compared to the flashbacks. Still, it’s a much friendlier format for most people than a spreadsheet (*pets spreadsheet lovingly*) and I hope I’ve done it justice with my updating.

May 28, 2013 at 7:27 pm #196426RumplesGirlKeymasterFirst off…wowza. That looks great!
I have no idea how you figured out months but nice!
Also, there was a note about Aurora’s birth date and if she is younger than Philip and Mulan. I would say yes. I think they’re sticking pretty close to Aurora being between 16-18 when Philip wakes her up in 2×01. But my only reasoning behind that is her emotional maturity."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 28, 2013 at 11:00 pm #196445KebParticipantWell, for the months, for parts of it anyway, I was able to use nearby known dates. We know what day 1 of the curse was, for example, and by extension we know Emma’s birthday (Oct. 22). We’ve got a birthday for Baelfire, though we don’t know if it’s accurate–but if it is, that tells us dates for everything that happened around his 14th birthday.
But I ran into a big problem when it came to season two, because they’ve got things so tightly woven and almost every episode clearly starts the day after the episode before it (or the same day) with few exceptions. There aren’t as many clear dates for “present” action in season two, but there are places where it seems like there should be more time passing (like the beans, wth), and the clothes and Snow’s birthday definitely place at least part of the season in winter despite the fact that only about 2 months could pass the whole season since the curse broke if you use the show’s own statements about when stuff’s happening. So I’m still struggling to find a way I’m happy with to represent season 2. Every time I think I find a place where a week or two could pass, I run into, “She tried to kill us–YESTERDAY.” or “Not bad for my third day as a dad.” Which makes perfect sense in the show but gives me no wiggle room to have the season last more than two months past the curse breaking…and that doesn’t get us back to winter at all. So…yeah. Fighting with that part.
And there’s lots of stuff that’s in January because I don’t have any diagetic clues to go by for dates, like birthdates. Hopefully as the show continues, some of that will be easier to place.
Thanks for the feedback on Aurora…I think I’d forgotten in my initial timelining that Aurora was only 16 in the Disney movie, and they may be using that framework as a guideline. Not sure. (They don’t always…but it’s a good argument for her to be younger than the 21 I’d given her.)

June 12, 2013 at 6:19 pm #198085KebParticipantHm. Just read an interview from this weekend’s events and apparently A&E said something along the lines of Hook thinking he should give up his revenge after “all these 100 years.” (It was the huff post one.)
I’m wondering if that’s “it’s been about a century” or “several hundred years.” Argh. The math aspect is going to kill me.
I’m definitely leaning toward the events of Neal’s early life being much more recent than I once assumed (based on the 300 years old figure).

June 12, 2013 at 6:23 pm #198086RumplesGirlKeymasterThat line is so frustratingly opaque! Gah. It could mean
These (multiple) hundred years (meaning more than one century)OR it could mean
These (singluar) hundred years (meaning only one century)
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 12, 2013 at 6:28 pm #198087KebParticipantWell, a single century would make more sense, cuz the Darlings, which A&E insist are Our World/time frame. But then you come up against “I’d be a couple hundred years old” and want to scream.

June 12, 2013 at 6:30 pm #198088RumplesGirlKeymasterI hate that line. I hate it. That entire speech of his needs to be completely wiped from that episode.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 12, 2013 at 6:46 pm #198089KebParticipantIt’s not the only line that could use retconning–the one about “she thought I was prettier than her” in the pilot, was it? Yeah.
But it does irk a lot with what they later gave us.

June 13, 2013 at 8:34 am #198241PheeParticipantI can forgive inconsistencies from the pilot, but Nealfire’s lines have become a serious pet peeve, which I hate, because I love me some Nealfire.
