ParticipantI’m stubborn. Another trait I share with Belle (and um, half the characters at least…).
And I rewatched Lacey a couple of times and the relevant scenes from Skin Deep and just couldn’t persuade myself that the curtain scene MUST happen after Robin Hood. In fact, the reactions of Rumple and Belle to his catching her just made me more sure it had to happen before some of the intimacy that happens in Lacey. And while a dress can be changed pretty easily, the curtains just seem too significant.
Oh, and the commentary about those moments in the podcast made me think that they happened in this order too.
I did tweet Adam but no response yet 🙁

KeymasterAfter tonights The Evil Kingdom we’ve got the following problems/events
This occurs after Red Hearted
This occurs before The Shepherd
This occurs before Skin Deep and probably Lacey??"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 29, 2013 at 1:41 am #189423tiara_rose
ParticipantI think it occurs at the same time of Skin Deep and Lacey. First rumple wears the same outfit, when turn Regina into the peasant and in Skin Deep (Make the deal and take her to the castle) and when Regina turned back he wears the same outfit when Belles get her hunting journey with Rumple. I think he was so busy with his wand and his “promising” girl to get after Reginas call. Also she is saying that her name was Wilma and in the end of Skin deep, when she is asking about his girl she sayd: “What was her name? Margi? Wilma…”
Rumple:”Belle”
Regina: “Right”
Ii think this is a hint from the wrighters to help us with the timeline. Maybe they read our prayers. 😉Heros don't get their Happy Ending!

KeymasterI don’t know because Rumple was very “Rumple-y” in this episode as if Belle hadn’t started falling for him and vice versa.

ParticipantOf course he is rumple-y. He likes to mirror of the behaviour of the person he tricks. He can’t show that he is also human to Regina. His first priority is to find bae and for that he has to create a monster, so that she will cast the curse. This is more important that a few butterflies in his belly.

ParticipantI’m thinking this is right at the start of Belle’s time with him, before Robin Hood though. Regina says “Verna” in Skin Deep though.
It does give Regina an immediate cause to want to defeat Rumple, though. And knowledge of Belle’s existence.

ParticipantI think that you’re right that this moves Red and Snow’s meeting before Skin Deep, so I’ll have to adjust that. Skin Deep’s already plenty before The Shepherd though, so that’s fine.

ModeratorThe FTL events of The Evil Queen definitely seem to be after Red Handed. Notice how back in Red Handed, Snow does not have her typical hunting garb or gear like she does in this episode and other particular episodes. I am willing to believe that Snow met Robin Hood after meeting Red (heh, they’re both HOODS), and that is how she learned her hunting skills and got her new wardrobe. The Robin Hood thing isn’t confirmed yet, but there are hints in the episode that it’s a likely possibility.

I spent some time trying to look at the seasons in the background and out of the window. It’s really hard to read. It’s definitely green and verdant when Belle is crying in the dungeon, very green and without any mist- so that makes me think it’s summer. (I’ve heard people say that she left to be with him in the winter, is there some canon backup for that that I don’t know about?) The span of time could be from summer to early spring?
In Skin Deep, just before the scene where Belle chips the cup, it shows an exterior shot of the dark castle and the grounds are covered in Snow.
The scene before is Rumple showing Belle to “her room”. At what point after Belle’s arrival did Rumple tell her her duties? Lacey occurs in the first few days of Belle’s arrival because Rumple said she was crying “night after night”. It was winter when he told her her duties yet he clearly expected her to wash his aprons in Lacey.
Rumple was wearing his red vest and shirt when he turned Gaston into the rose.
This was just before he let Belle go and not expecting her to come back. It’s possible Regina wanted to get back at Rumple for not coming when she called him so she tried to get Belle to give him true love’s kiss.
All magic comes with a price!
