Just thinking of the line in “Into the Woods” where, after leaving his latest conquest, the prince says, “I was raised to be charming, not sincere.” Poor Mary Margaret is inexplicably in love with a guy is just sort of an empty space walking around in her prince’s form.
that’s a really good point. I watch soaps and there’s a character on B&B where all the others think he is the better, perfect son but in reality, he is a 👿 horrible character. you seriously wonder why Mary Margaret would even give David the time of the day because in real life, I wouldn’t even give David the time of day.

Like the thing with the valentines cards. Really? You mixed up two DIFFERENT COLORED envelopes. Seriously. I really hope he gets better soon. 🙁

I think they are also trying to make some kind of commentary on the fact that there is no such thing as Prince Charming in the real world. However, I think they have succeeded in creating the poster boy for clueless, and he is a perfect example of why one should “Think before you speak.”
I completely didn’t think about the reference to there being no Prince Charming! I absolutely love it. It makes me appreciate the character a bit more. It’s a commentary. Fabulous.

yeah, there is really no excuse for messing that up unless David really is color blind. but doubtful.

I don’t like him that much either. But I feel bad about it though. I feel like we’re supposed to like David. He’s Prince Charming! We’re supposed to root for him, but his Storybrooke persona makes it difficult. 🙁
Actually I think we aren’t supposed to like the guy AT ALL… think about it…we all swooned for Prince Charming…but David is such a wuss…David is the Anti-Prince Charming and I think we aren’t supposed to swwon over him…it’s part of the curse for him to have lost his awesomeness…
I think it is so funny that when Prince Charming is on the screen I just think he is so handsome…and when David is on the screen I totally change my mind…I think the writers meant it to be that way…and may I say good acting on Josh Dallas’s part!

Well bugger, just go and shatter my hopes and dreams why dontcha. *resigns self to dying a lonely, bitter old crone* 😛
Seriously though, that’s an excellent point. There really isn’t any way that the perfect Prince Charming could exist in our reality. Poor David never stood a chance.

Indeed. The fact that David bugs us so is a testament to the writers and the actor doing their job properly.
April 12, 2012 at 1:06 pm #141889midnight drearyParticipantI hope David finds a way to bring himself closer to his Fairytale counterpart, because his current storyline is killing me with its tediousness. 🙄 Hopefully, he’ll go through big transformation in the finale. 😉

Prince Charming lost his Prince Charming Awesomeness 😆 😆
sorry, I couldn’t help it 😆 😆 😆
April 12, 2012 at 9:02 pm #141925midnight drearyParticipantHmm, so the writers don’t actually want us to like David, huh. Well, they’re doing too good of a job at doing that. For the love of God, ease up writers. 😆
April 12, 2012 at 9:57 pm #141934sam993ParticipantDavid is an underdog. He’s trying his best, but it kinda blows up in his face. And come on, guys, he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He’s lost and confused. Mary Margaret is there so he can lead him to the right path. In ways, she’s challenging him to be a better person because after 28 years in a coma and lost without a wife and a kid, the dude’s mess up. And he had a death experience too, so that may be affecting his judgement in Storybrooke. I feel more sorry than anger towards him.
