charming
ParticipantLet’s face it, the way he was written, he was suppose to annoy us. He is not Charming yet. He has to remember how to be Charming before he can be Charming again. Just like he got Angry Snow to become Snow White again. Emma, I think has to start talking to him as friends rather than just siding with Mary Margaret all the time. She is the key. Other than Graham so far he is closer than anyone else to discovering who he actually is. I believe you will see David / Charming and not just James / Charming sooner than we think.

ParticipantYes, notice that I do have faith in David. I believe that I will be able to relinquish being the Keeper of his Low IQ one day . . .
I don’t hate his character, I actually find him somewhat comical in a strange way. It’s like every episode he is featured in you are watching the show and then he does something and I end up saying “And David manages to screw up all up AGAIN!” But the best part is that when he does insert his foot into his mouth his does it with those adorable puppy dog eyes and/or the single tear falling every so slowly down his cheek . . .while the breeze blows in one ear and right out the other ’cause there’s not a whole lot of wind resistance going on in between.

ParticipantWe are suppose to dislike David and the more we dislike David, we dislike the curse. The more we dis like the curse we can understand the curse more. With that, we are suppose to hate Regina for enacting the curse and Rumple for creating it. However, it is very hard to hate Rumple because he has charisma and there is something charming about him but in an evil and lovable way. We all hate to love him and love to hate him. Love / Hate. Also the more we hate David now the more we will love him later. Besides it is easier to dislike the hero than to dislike the heroine. Mary Margaret is annoying and dislikable too but as annoying and dislikable as she is….she does mangage to redeem herself in ways that David has not. Remember Snow and Charming have a reciprocal relationship. Snow has saved Charming as many times as he’s saved her. So right now Mary Margaret is more “charming” than Charming/ David/ James.

LOL… 😆 😆 😆
Great point…It was getting Graham to be his independent self to break the curse for him…Maybe David and MM need to come face to face with who they really are in order to break the curse…Can’t wait for the tuff MM who isn’t pregers anymore to bust open a can of woop-pah on the EQ…

We should also take note that Emma should start talking to David as at least a friend. Emma and MM talk enough and are almost acting like a daughter meeting her mother at the same age. They seem to take turns being each other’s mother. You have to agree they do get along very well.
She needs to start doing that with her Dad/David/James/Charming. Every girl needs her Daddy and every girl is a Daddy’s girl. Every father sees his daughter as his little girl and it will never change.

ParticipantBelieve me every girl is not a daddy’s girl. But regardless, i think David needs to quit acting like an idiot all the time before he and Emma are going to be getting along.

ParticipantPoints taken. You are right not every girl is a daddy’s girl, I have two sisters; one is and one isn’t. Yes, James as David is more of a “Prince Bone Head” than Prince Charming. I certainly does everything to not help his case to win point from Mm and Emma and every opportunity he has to gets points he fails to take. David, Prince Bone Head of Storybrooke.
Inasmuch as he gets on my nerves I can’t help but root for him. In David one can see an average man because every man who is interested in a woman no matter how smart he is….he is also a dope. Even a man who thinks he knows a lot about woman…there will come a woman that will prove him otherwise.

ParticipantI totally root for him as well, Charming. Every time he puts his foot in it, i just hope that it is the last time. I think until he gets out from under the curse though he is going to keep being an idiot. Though if he and Emma did find a way to become closer that would help him as well.

ParticipantYeah, David gets in my nerves too. I just want to smack him sometimes! (No offense), but seriously he is an idiot. I know he went through some traumatic events; coma, fake wife, a dog we never see, but come on!
Maybe Henry should talk to him, I don’t know. I do know that the writers need to change David so he is no longer a complete idiot.April 14, 2012 at 11:50 am #142175Phee

David is an underdog. He’s trying his best, but it kinda blows up in his face. And come on, guys, he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He’s lost and confused. Mary Margaret is there so he can lead him to the right path. In ways, she’s challenging him to be a better person because after 28 years in a coma and lost without a wife and a kid, the dude’s mess up. And he had a death experience too, so that may be affecting his judgement in Storybrooke. I feel more sorry than anger towards him.
I’m not angry with him. A tad frustrated by him for sure, but I can understand why he’s messed up, and it’s totally not his fault.
