Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Really?!?! I guess he really is Prince Phillip, but I’m not sure why he wasn’t in the first episode if that was the episode about Sleeping Beauty unless she doesn’t meet her Prince in it yet. Mmm, I’m still waiting to see because the casting is just too uncanny.
Seriously, the more pictures I see of Julian Morris – the more he looks like Dylan! Come on show: you can’t just hire men with brown hair and brown eyes for everything this season just to send us into Baelfire Mania! It would get confusing at the very least!
lol, I know at this rate I expect Captain Hook, Baeman, Peter Pan, and Jack, if they’re all different actors to all have brown hair and brown eyes so that they can laugh at us.
ETA: lol, looks like Phee found the same spoiler. Seriously this is nuts how much they must love toying with us right now.

WAIT! HE’S PRINCE PHILLIP!!!!! Seriously? *Heads back under rock*
I will try to be excited since he was my favorite prince growing up!
July 26, 2012 at 8:04 pm #152563midnight drearyParticipantUGH. That’s disappointing…

AdultBaelfire is going to be so much cooler, anyway!

😥lol, he better be. He better be sexy, but also an actor on par with Robert Carlyle’s talent, and he better look like Dylan Schmid more than Julian Morris and Eion Bailey do at this point.

Beaman, a criminal who deals in stolen antiques. This role may be recurring.
……I’m going to stick with Baelfire being Jack (since that’s how I’ve written it in my fan fic). I think Beaman is trying to be a red herring on the identity of Baelfire: as you said ‘Be-a-man’, ‘antiques’, possibly a recurring role. Beaman sounds more like the story tale alias of HOOK to me: he is a pirate (stolen antiques), we’ve seen him break into Gold’s shop already, and while Peter Pan was all “I don’t want to grow up!” wouldn’t Hook be all about growing up and ‘Being a Man!” ? It does sound like an episode focused on HOOK right now, so I’m wondering if HOOK stole Milha away – the two fell in love and tried to escape to Neverland. Something goes wrong: HOOK becomes a bitter adult chasing/trying to kill kids, Milha is transformed into Tinkerbell: having to mother little boys (what she hated back home) If Neverland time allows for no one to age from that point on, I think Milha could very well be Baelfire’s mom/Rumple’s wife (should it be ex-wife??)
Well, now that the disappointment of another brown haired actor in the right age range isn’t Bae again, I just wanted to bring up the topic of Beaman and Milha.
I totally agree though that it’s more likely that Beaman is Captain Hook because he’s all about being grown up and being a man. (OT: Right now my head canon is that Beaman’s first name is Willie just like Jamie Foxx’s character from Any Given Sunday.) I just think they’re trying to be funny because it looks somewhat like Bae, not to mention the fact that they had to have him be someone who just happens to be criminal that deals in stolen antiques.
I guess Milha could be Rumple’s wife, but since I also believe that Bae is more likely to be Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk and not Peter Pan, maybe Milha was Dr. Whale’s mom at one time since I think it’s more likely that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan, and his mom leaving him was the reason that he never wanted to grow up. Or she could still be Rumple’s ex, and Dr. Whale could still be Peter Pan.
My reasons for thinking that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan:
1. Well, we know he’s not Prince Phillip now.
2. He’s probably not Monstro since he was just joking about being Monstro.
3. Perhaps part of the reason that they made his identity such a secret was because they didn’t have permission until now to use the Peter Pan story.
4. Also, having another mysterious male character around the same age that Bae could be at if he landed on Earth, the same year that August and Emma arrives, only adds to fans’ confusion because there is some evidence that could point towards Bae being Peter Pan.
5. Being a doctor is a very grown up job, so the Curse made him the opposite of what being the Boy Who Never Grew Up.
6. Perhaps Blue Fairy is also Tinkerbell, and that’s why she comforted him at the end of season 1. Perhaps that’s the real reason she didn’t want Grumpy and Nova together because she was secretly jealous of Nova since Peter never loved her.
7. Since Captain Hook is appearing in episode 4, I think the pictures that we saw of Dr. Whale helping out the good guys, is laying the groundwork for his episode and that the Jack/Bae probably won’t be until either the mid-season cliffhanger because of how important it is to the overall mythology of the show. Then, again if Milha was Rumple’s ex, and I could see them letting that spoiler leak out closer to the premiere of episode 4, because everyone will think that Bae is someone else again, and (bam) Dr. Whale is the one that turns out to be Peter Pan. Also, by introducing Bae’s mom in episode 4, it would lay the groundwork though for the Bae mystery to start up again since it appears that the first 4 episodes don’t have anything abut Bae in them or very little, so that by the mid-season cliffhanger, there would be ample build-up for fans for finding out who he really is. Milha being Rumple’s ex might also be a way to add angst to the Rumbelle relationship, not because he has any feelings for his ex-wife, but Rumple could become all end of “Skin Deep” angsty, and feel that he’s unworthy of anyone’s love since his first wife got bored with him and left him for another man. Maybe the whole town will find out about Rumple’s lost son and perhaps why Rumple made the Curse this way too if Milha or Beaman reveals to everyone that Rumple had a son.
July 27, 2012 at 2:47 pm #152599dorothyParticipantI think if they were going to introduce us to Rumple’s ex-wife they would’ve done so in Desperate Souls. I think her absence from one of Rumple’s backstory episodes was to show that regardless of what really happened, she’s not in the picture anymore. The writers have already given us two versions about what went wrong and why she left:
-he deserted the army during wartime and his wife left him because of it
or
-she diedBased on the information we’ve already been given, the casting of a bored housewife ready to dump her family to join a band of thieves doesn’t fit with the character of Rumple’s ex-wife.

I don’t think that Milha being Bae’s mother, who ran off with Hook, would have to mean that Bae had a link to Neverland, (and by the same token I don’t think she’d have to have any link to Whale if he ended up being Peter).
We don’t know yet if we’ll be introduced to Peter in the same ep where we meet Hook. If in fact Hook IS this Beaman character, and Milha IS Rumple’s ex, then the flashbacks may well be to them meeting in FTL and her leaving Rumple, and the ep could end when they arrive in Neverland, before he actually becomes Captain Hook. That would set up future Neverland eps, where we WOULD meet Peter Pan.
My reasons for thinking that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan:
There’s a valid argument for Whale being Peter. The only reason I’m not on that train just yet is that I have my theory of Peter being Henry’s dad, which wouldn’t work if he was Whale. But with everyone remembering who they are now, they can’t stall long before revealing Whale’s alter ego, and we know that Hook is coming early in the season, so the Peter reveal may happen early in the season too. Even if my above theory about no Peter in the flashbacks were to happen, they could still have Whale reacting to Hook being in Storybrooke, if he was Peter.
Agreed. By the time it got to a mid season break, it’d be about time they dedicated another ep to that storyline. They could have the big Bae reveal, then let us all lose our minds over the next few weeks without a new ep.
Milha being Rumple’s ex might also be a way to add angst to the Rumbelle relationship,
They’ll have to have some Rumbelle stuff early on in the season. If the first few eps deal with the overall catchup of what’s going on in Storybrooke, by ep 4, they could get stuck into some Rumbelle storyline if it’s a parallel to his former life with his wife in the flashbacks.

We know she likely left him, but we don’t really know why. We know that Hordor said: “Did he tell you how he ran and the ogres turned the tide of the battle, and all the others were killed, and he returned home to a wife who could not bear the sight of him? You see, women do not like to be married to cowards.” Rumple’s reaction when Bae later questioned him if his mother left, or died, suggested that there was more to the story than her dying.
If she was a dissatisfied housewife, who thought her husband a coward, and wished for a different man and a different life, it’d be believable if she was attracted to a brazen thief and ran off with him, (or perhaps died as a result of getting involved with him). So the character description for Milha fits well IMO.

Agreed. It could be that Rumpel’s response to Bae (“she is dead”) could really be his way of saying “she is dead to me.” She didn’t actually die, but left him for another man and “adventure.” Not wanting to tell Baelfire that his mother abandoned her son and him, he simply let Baefire think she was dead. This would be very similar to how Emma let Henry think his father was dead. Perhaps it is a protective white-lie.
Also, I really like your theory Phee, that Bae could be Peter Pan. If his mom and Captain Hook ran off together, it’d tie in nicely to that plot. Perhaps Baelfire, upon coming to our world, was adopted by Tinkerbell looking for lost boys and shown how to fly. Then, upon arriving in Neverland, he became Peter Pan, where up he somehow learned who his mother is – Captain Hook’s mistress. 💡
