Oh, I see that now. I didn’t realize that. I think in my mind I was thinking about the way Weedith’s keeper thread is listed.[adrotate group="5"]April 8, 2012 at 1:52 am #141283
Wondering if the horse decor in the manor house (in Stable Boy) and the horse on the dining table would coincide with the horse on the mantle in Regina’s office. Also there are orchids in FTL at the manor house and orchids in Regina’s office. Also wondering about the FTL box on Regina’s office desk and where i have seen it before. 😀April 27, 2012 at 4:22 pm #144296
So this last episode, The Return had some things I saw — oil cans like the Tin Man had in the Wizard of Oz, The dagger, the donkey paperweight on the desk, the green tornado (also a shout out to Oz) The Futball from FTL to Mr. Gold’s shop. There are a couple of retro Robot toys placed up high in a few screenshots, not sure what they represent; and a Mickey Mouse down load in the cabinet.April 27, 2012 at 6:22 pm #144310
Ok, so spent a little time looking at screencaps of Mr. Gold’s shop — fascinating. I am not familar with every fairytale or even every Disney movie, etc. but here are some more things I noticed…
- behind Henry, as he faces Mr. Gold, in the front window, is Gepetto’s accordion, like the one in the Disney version.
bicycles from the ceiling, again Wizard of Oz
canoe/boat hanging upside dwon from ceiling — SW’s?
birdcage hanging from ceiling — reminded me of HCA’s FT “The Nightingale”
There are small shelves held up by branches of wood all around the room and on them are retro robots and space rockets/toys, not sure what those mean, but out of place.
Mickey Mouse telephone down low in cabinet (seen in scene with Regina)
Tried to get a good look at Regina’s necklace, strange. Almost looks like a dreamcatcher.
Again genie lamp on counter.
Silverware set reminded me of Beauty and the Beast.
Also, as Mr. Gold puts away the football there is a golden lyre up to the right on a shelf just made me think of Greek mythology.
There are lots of globes, old paintings, candles, clocks, and ships around the store. And there must be bells somewhere since Henry was trying them.
When August comes in the back door, I found Jefferson’s hat box on the top shelf right.
There is a cuckoo clock at the top of the shelves on the left side when he enters, you can see a better shot later, but this is also Pinnochio. Geppetto’s shop was full of cuckoo clocks in the Disney version.
There is the magnifying glass used to see Jiminy in the pilot episode.
There is a statue of a girl in a flower that remind’s me of HCA’s “Thumbelina”, especially if you check out some of the images on google.
Above the oil cans and August’s head on a top shelf you will see a statue of Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage complete with horses.
And the the last noticeable I caught was a red shoe shine kit. This really stuck out to me on the shelf, but for the life of me I can’t figure what it might refer to. Any ideas?
That’s it for me. Have been wanting some good shots of Gold’s shop. Didn’t see the puppets of Gepetto’s parents anywhere though, or the windmill. So he either sold a few things or has rearranged 😀
Also, in MM apartment there is a ceramic bluebird, looks like canister lid in front of the punchbowl, Only found that on one screenshot. And a ceramic deer at the punchbowl scene as well… can we say Bambi?April 28, 2012 at 9:22 am #144409miaParticipant
can we say Bambi?
I think that’s just one of the deers from the Snow White story. She had loads of animals surrounding her.
Do you have screens of all those things? I’ll add them then.
I still have to look for Bae’s ball that was mentioned in the podcast. I didn’t realise that at all.
Anyway, thanks for looking at the shop sjm! Hope I can somehow update here soon, so much to do! 🙁April 28, 2012 at 11:07 am #144420hjbauParticipant
Gold has the ball in his hand when he is talking to Bae and Bae is holding the same ball when he falls over and scrapes his knee and Rumpel kills the guy.April 28, 2012 at 1:57 pm #144440
Here is the link to his/ her caps site.:) The rules are no uploading the caps anywhere else, but the link is okay.
Storybrook.net didn’t have their caps up yet when I was looking but I’ll check there.April 28, 2012 at 2:36 pm #144447
You can see the Gepetto’s accordion in the front window behind the glass/crystal candelabraApril 28, 2012 at 2:38 pm #144448
In this shot you can see the part of the boat/canoe, the birdcage, the bicycles all hanging from the ceiling.April 28, 2012 at 2:44 pm #144450miaParticipant
Thank you very much! I’ll look through the shots later and update the list.
Why are the bicicles a symbol of The Wizard of Oz? I read the book just a week ago and can’t remember any bicicles. Is it from the film?
