ABC has posted character bios on their site:
Regina/Roni – It’s been quite a journey for Regina (Evil Queen) since she vowed to destroy Snow White’s happiness all those years ago. Since then we’ve watched her evolve from the Evil Queen we love to hate into a beloved hero. But we’ve never seen her quite like this: Cursed. Meet Roni, bartender and owner of Hyperion Heights’ favorite watering hole who does so much more than serve your favorite craft beer. She’s also the patron saint of the lost souls and the unofficial keeper of Hyperion Heights – doling out advice and protecting those who need her help. When we meet Roni, she’s decided that she’s had just about enough of uppity Victoria Belfrey acting like she owns this neighborhood, and Roni is ready to fight back. The mayoral pantsuits may have been replaced with Rock ‘n Roll edge, but this Regina’s as fierce as ever, and as Victoria Belfrey’s about to learn – when you mess with the downtrodden of Hyperion Heights, you mess with the Queen. And NO ONE messes with the Queen.
Rumple/Gold/Weaver – Rumplestiltskin is a man of many names and in the borough of Hyperion Heights, he has a shiny new one – Weaver. But despite his cursed persona, Weaver is just as mysterious and calculating as ever. When we last saw him in Storybrooke, he had finally chosen love over power and found a happy ending with his wife, Belle, and their son, Gideon. So how did he end up alone and hard-boiled in Hyperion Heights? That’s for Weaver to know and us to find out. But beneath his inscrutable exterior, it’s clear that he’s a man with a mission. And not just any mission, but possibly the greatest quest of his centuries-long life as the Dark One. Did he relapse or will he relapse into his old ways in this mysterious pursuit? The only thing that’s certain is new deals will be made and new alliances will be forged with characters both new and old, good and bad, until Weaver gets what he wants.
Hook/Rogers – Our favorite swashbuckling rogue is back. But this is not the Captain Hook we remember. Meet Detective Rogers. Driven, focused, and on the straight and narrow, Rogers is a man who throws himself into his work completely. Haunted by one case in particular, he won’t stop until he solves it – because if he can, he may just unlock answers to questions he didn’t even know to ask. In Fairy Tale Land, we find our Captain lost at sea and in search of the pieces that will make him whole again. And we’ve seen our beloved pirate on a mission before – he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants, even as he helps our heroes along the way.
Henry Mills – Grown-up Henry is the dashing, hopeful, confident hero we always dreamed he would be. At least, until he’s cursed. Remembering nothing of his enchanted childhood OR his magical family, we find Henry at sea in the real world, all alone and with no direction in life. Now an author with one not-so-successful book of fairy tales under his belt, Henry spends his days battling writer’s block and driving for Swyft, Seattle’s latest ride-share. It’s a lonely existence – one that’s broken when a precocious little girl named Lucy walks into his life claiming to be his daughter. Thanks to Lucy, Henry soon finds himself wrapped up in the drama of Hyperion Heights, trying to figure out why he feels a strange connection to Lucy’s mother, Jacinda, and starting to wonder if everything he’s been missing in life might just be in this neighborhood…
Cinderella/Jacinda – Think you know Cinderella? Well you’ve never seen her like this. Full of spunk and grit, she’s hardly sitting around waiting for her prince. This girl’s got problems and she’ll solve them on her own, thank you very much. Just toss her a sword and watch out for her mean right hook. Her biggest problem right now? Bringing her stepmother, Lady Tremaine, to justice for all the horrible things that she’s done – least of which was making Ella’s life a living hell. In Hyperion Heights, we find Ella (now Jacinda) in a much more traditional Cinderella situation – trapped by economic circumstances that her stepmother (Victoria Belfrey) created. Jacinda struggles every day just to free herself from that wicked woman’s control and to protect and provide for her spirited daughter, Lucy. That is until a stranger named Henry Mills walks into her life and makes Jacinda think that maybe she might be able to find some happiness of her own … if she’s willing to let herself.
Lady Tremaine/Victoria Belfrey – Power hungry. Vicious. Cold as ice. Lady Tremaine is all the things you’d expect from a storybook villain. And she’s fought hard to acquire every one of those traits, as well as her elevated status in society. It’s a status she has gleefully retained in Hyperion Heights where she reigns over the have-nots in the cursed neighborhood of Seattle as real-estate mogul Victoria Belfrey. Victoria is determined to keep her stepdaughter, Jacinda, under her thumb and raise her step-granddaughter, Lucy, as she sees fit. But despite her nefarious interest in Lucy and her mistreatment of her daughter-assistant Ivy, not everything is as it seems. Because underneath her hard exterior is a fragile heart and a past that is quite surprising.
Princess Tiana/Sabine – Part of the hero team in Fairy Tale Land, Tiana is a strong, capable princess fighting for justice in her kingdom. Unfortunately, her cursed persona lives a much less adventurous life. Sabine struggles to make ends meet in dead-end jobs, but that doesn’t stop her from swinging for the fences to fulfill her lifelong dream. A scrappy and hard-working dreamer, Sabine has no qualms dragging her best friend and roommate, Jacinda, into her crazy schemes. She’s the friend that will give you the push you need and always tells it like it is. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for Jacinda and Lucy as they fight to build a life for themselves and take on the forces that would see them pushed out of Hyperion Heights.
