That right there is my biggest question, and it’s sort of hard for me to take Lady Tremaine seriously as a threat. Like….is she a witch in this version or did she steal Fairy God Mother’s Wand….what damage is Lady Tremaine truly capable of?
The only thing I’m thinking of is that Lady Tremaine wanted her daughter to be with Henry instead of Cinderella. Maybe perhaps discovering Henry as the Author and his powers will make Lady Tremaine desire him to write a better ending for her and her daughters, and so she sees Cinderella as a threat to her endgame, which is to have the wicked stepsister marry Henry.

She did steal the Fairy Godmother’s wand in Cinderella III, actually. So I could see either that happening, and/or she tries to take advantage of Henry’s author powers, like you suggested. But yeah, I imagined a bigger threat for a new big bad would be a new version of Maleficent, since she’s the most iconic evil sorceress out there. Cinderella’s step-mother typically doesn’t have magical powers at her disposal.
