I have an issue with it if it’s CURSED Regina because that way it won’t feel like the the REAL Regina has real feelings for this person.

That depends on how accepting the enchanted forest (or….whatever realm they live in?) is of LGBT relationships. It’s possible they have no religious or moral issues with it. But Tremaine would be upset if the person wasn’t a royal. So drizella wants to marry a PRINCESS then that’s okay because either way Tremaine becomes rich and her daughter becomes a queen eventually. But if she marries a peasant she gets nothing regardless of gender.

Like, I’m assuming a scenario where there’s a royal family who has a son whose family are wanting to find him a wife, and Drizella fits the criteria (right age, etc) for the kinda girl they’re shopping for and Tremaine is like, “Yes this is my chance to get my family married into royalty, THIS IS 100% GONNA HAPPEN.” But then Drizella objects because she’s a lesbian and therefore refuses to marry the dude. Tremaine will insist, so we know she’s evil. And then the random Prince will find out how unhappy Drizella is with the whole situation, and will help her escape it (maybe to Wonderland, where she meets and falls in love with Alice).

And then we’ll get some sympathetic backstory about how Tremaine grew up really poor and didn’t want that for her own family so she kept trying to ensnare rich men.
(It’s like I’ve heard/seen this story before….)

I can’t imagine them going into all of that. At this point, i just don’t want the relationship to be offensive or as random as Red and Dorothy.
They said we would find out why she needs to be royal.
Not that why she wants to be. Why she needs to be. I think that may mean something.
