If Regina really wants to get back at Rumple for his hand in Cora’s murder, couldn’t she at least attempt to steal his dagger and kill him herself? I guess Rumple will be much more protective of his dagger now, after what had almost happened to him.

I don’t understand how he can still be so cold towards the Charmings after everything that has happened. He seems to be unable to have any empathy. I want to go up to him and say, “What if it were Belle? How would you feel if Regina had plans to kill Belle instead of Snow?”
We won’t know for sure until tonight, but I think it’s all motivated by fear. Fear of family, fear of opening up to more people to love and to love him. After last week’s spectacularness with Belle and Bae I think it’s very clear that he is “full of love” but like Regina he’s not very good at showing it all the time.

Yeah, Regina seemed a little horrified at the idea of her mother becoming the Dark One. Also, I suspect that a lack of empathy is part of the Dark One curse–it’s what makes it so easy for Dark One Rumple to kill and control people. I think it’s somewhat balanced out by Mr. Gold, and there’s reason to believe that the Dark One curse is not as strong in our world–or at least that several elements didn’t carry over.

I really hope we get to see the real Mr. Gold tonight. I’m dying to know what he was like before Emma came to SB.

Keeper of FelixWell, I think he did a good job of staying in character as Mr. Gold for most of Season 1, actually, because even Regina–though she suspected as soon as he started to get very specific with his pleases–wasn’t sure for several months that he had his memories back (day after Emma’s birthday to Valentine’s day). So I think the Mr. Gold we know is pretty close to the pure SB Mr. Gold.

See I have to wonder about that, Keb. Because it seems like for the most part all we’ve ever seen was Rumple (though I doubt that Mr. Gold was vastly different than him given how people reacted to him in general). Even when he was with Regina, he acted like I would expect Rumple to act and I think she picked up on it with his pleases and his overall demeanor. Before, she was in charge, even if he owned the town but once his curse was broken, he reasserted himself and that’s all we’ve ever seen.
