As the two power figures in SB, Rumple and Regina only hove one barrier in their way (besides Emma, of course): each other.
But which one is YOUR favorite?
In the end, it may all come down to a “final battle.” Given that Regina and Rumple are on opposite sides, who do you think will reign supreme? 😉
Regardless of whether or not they ARE enemies (which is prone to speculation), which do you think is more powerful? 😀[adrotate group="5"]April 16, 2012 at 9:43 pm #142575hjbauParticipantWell i don’t really think it is Regina vs Rumpel, not really, and not in the long run, so i think both lose and Emma wins.

Most of his spells and deals involve very complicated details. I think that ‘s what will ultimately bring Regina down. Rumpel’s got this wrapped up. 😉

I agree. Regina was naive enough to trust a curse that Rumpel created. That right there should tell you something. 😆 Regina even said herself that there’s always a catch with Rumpel’s deals, but then she disregards her own warning and trusts him anyways. Come on girl. 😆

It depends on what happens towards the end of the season. It’s quite obvious that their “alliance” is on the cusp of disaster. Judging by the promo, the deal between Mr. Gold and Regina has deteriorated. So, I think they’ll be on completely opposite sides by the end of the season.
April 16, 2012 at 11:17 pm #142582beauty the beastParticipantI actually see Regina and Rumpel as Jacob and the Man in Black from Lost. It’s ultimately a battle between these two mega powers, and they’re using the lives of innocents as chess pieces. Even Emma to a certain extent is a chess piece. We’re stil not sure how exactly Emma will be used to break the curse. Does she have to believe? Does she have to do a ritual? Does she have to be sacrificed? Because if Emma’s death is the only thing that will break the curse, then Rumpel has set her up as nothing but a chess piece.

It is like if you think of it the other way. In one way you have Rumpel’s side with him doing what he is doing working with people and then Regina is on another side with all of her minions doing what she is doing, but if you look at it the other way it is there are people who have power and people who don’t. So in that way they are both people of power and on the same side because they desire to keep their power and so in some way they work together because it makes them both powerful to do so even though in the other way they are different sides. Does that make sense?
It is just in one way they are working together and in another way they are not. And i just can’t imagine that Rumpel’s end game is really just to defeat Regina. There has to be more to it then that i think. Maybe Regina has part of his power somehow. That when whatever happened between Cora and Rumpel back in the she’s just a miller’s daughter days she was able to get a bit of the dark one power and then when Regina killed her mother that power was passed on.
I don’t know. That was a lot of speculation. I just don’t see them as the ultimate powers here. Rumpel has been around for centuries, but Regina seems to be just a regular person who went evil. Maybe it is just i think that the good should be a side instead of just evil vs evil.

MY theory is Emma destroys Regina by 1/ chopping down her apple tree 2/ Arresting her for malfeasance of office, extortion, tampering with evidence, any number of other offenses… Maybe Emma get the State Troopers / FBI to arrest her and take her out of Storybrooke thus ending her.
I think Gold / Rumples plotted Emma destroying Regina when he organized the curse in the beginning … He is just bringing his plan to fruition. SPOILER: BAE and Rumple was trying to find a way to turn him back to the loving father he was… so if he destroys all magic he supposedly could live a life that could allow him to be the man he started out being… no magic .. no evil.
BIG Spoiler: I do not believe that Emma attacks Regina with David's sword like the spoiler videos show. If she kills Regina she would / might inherit the evilness. I think the writers will come up with something better…. something we have not anticipated.

Maybe Rumple is good. He isn’t really EVIL, rather he makes deals in order to get something in return for the “good” that he does. After all, we know that the reason he became the Dark One was for his son- a pretty good reason, or at least an acceptable one. If we find out that his whole plan with the curse is to get Bae back, or if we even see Bae in a future episode, we may see the good brought out in Rumple/Gold. 😀
