Save The Dark One, Save Them All!

So the wonderful Marty Mcfly made me realize something brilliant! Neal could have lived and Rumpelstiltskin could have still been resurrected! How? TIME TRAVEL!!!! Rump would give anything for his son, we know this. So what if Mr. Gold had traveled back to when Neal was about to open the Vault Of The Dark One and stopped Neal from doing it. Well would Rump would be dead right? NOPE! Because Mr. Gold could have opened it HIMSELF!!!!!! He could have sacrificed his own life to save Neal and revive himself. Past Rump would be alive and live on, only future Rump would die in the past but since Rump has been resurrected in the past (just as it was) he (past rump) wouldn’t have to go back and die over again. Before Gold dies, he could have pushed Neal inside of Rumps body, the curse would come, everyone would lose their memories, and basically everything would be exactly the same except Neal wouldn’t have died. Unless fate wants to go all Final Destination and come after him… Which would be interesting 😛 anyway, thoughts?

of course they’re bringing him back. but I don’t know if I am willing to wait so long if they get renewed for more and more seasons, tey might drag Neals return for who knows how long

…but, that means, no Rumple in Storybrooke and that can’t happen until the series finale. I think I remember reading somewhere that Mr. Carlye had signed on for 5 seasons.

No, Rumpel would be in SB. He would still be alive and so would Bae. The Rumpel who went back into the past would die, save Bae, she himself, and since he saved his past self (like Bae would have) the Rumpel that he saved in the past would live on to get taken by the curse and go to SB and never need to go into the past at all. Why? Because Bae his alive and he is alive. Everyone wins. The future would play out the exact same way with the only difference being Bae doesn’t die.
