I think we all remember that Regina had Sidney spy on Emma through most of season one, especially Emma’s interactions with Henry. I hadn’t really seen a topic on this, but in 4×05, we were reminded that Regina had Sidney trailing her and thought I’d put that into perspective and how it relates to the events of this episode, also when Emma possibly could have come into contact with the Ice Queen within season one.

This was from 1×02 The Thing that You Love the Most (the end of the episode).

This was also from 1×02, but in the beginning of the episode. Emma’s holding one of Regina’s apples that Henry concludes Emma should not eat because it’s poison.

Third picture – Emma and the Snow Queen inside her shop. This was a little harder since Emma’s only worn the blue jacket in two episodes from season one (The Price of Gold and The Fruit of the Poisonous Tree)

That’s not to say Emma couldn’t have worn the blue jacket other times and we haven’t seen it.  But if I were to pin point when she could have possibly met the Ice Queen, it could have been either episode.  Then, there’s also that scene from 1×12 where Regina commanded that Emma take Henry out for ice queen.  But again, we don’t know if the ice queen was around during the first curse, but that was our first mention of an ice cream shop in Storybrooke.

I just thought it was worth noting about the possible timeframes.

I want to say it’s “The Price of Gold” and here’s why….. 405 ends with Emma riffling through her “childhood” box and the first time we see the box (and Emma’s possessions) is in The Price of Gold. It’s the first time we’re really introduced to the idea of Emma carting around her box-o-stuff. It reappears in True North, but there is no blue jacket in True North (to our knowledge). So having Emma receiving her box of goodies in 104, meeting the SQ (and then subsequently forgetting the SQ) is a nice match to 405 in which she once again opens her box of goodies and realizes that her history with the SQ is a long one.

That sounds right to me until otherwise proven not true. But I think that’s right.

It’s a good thing the red jacket is her signature look and not that blue one, otherwise it would be really complicated which episode. It’s a lot easier looking at only two.
