Ladies, we have our Ariel, who traded her voice to the sea-witch for legs! How does she know ASL? Maybe she knows sign language because a family member is deaf. This is the most amazing news!! Wow – they are gonna have to work super fast to get all these plots tied up and introduce ARIEL!! But I am really really excited.
Had to laugh, because I’d thought, “Hmmm, wonder if watching any of her other work might give away any clues as to what character she’d be a good fit for, ” but I didn’t actually expect to find anything. Then that popped up. 😆
I just madly googled her name, and her own website popped up, including a biography.
Most recently she was the lead, a deaf girl in the short film “Beneath the Waves” by Award winning Director Renee Marie. A demanding role requiring Freya to learn sign language. http://www.freyatingley.com/Freya_Tingley_Bio.html
So, that at least explains why she knows sign language. Freya Tingley is golden!

There’s even a totally coincidental Peter Pan/Neverland connection in there, where she’s talking about dreaming of someone floating around outside and flying into a window. 😛

I think it looks likely that she is Ariel, or at least how they could cast her and not need to do a casting call. She’s perfect for the part. 😆
