That would be cool! Unless maybe it’s not even Peter Pan who is the “hinted at but not seen” character they were talking about? Maybe Hook’s telling Bae about Triton and his daughters, or something? I can’t freaking wait to hear exactly what Hook says!

Yeah, thinking back to that comment about “hinted at but not seen”
We know we are going to see: the Darling family and Pan’s shadow. We know that Lanie has to appear in 222 as someone (Tink?) so who is hinted at?

Laine MacNeil does fit the profile of Ariel though. She’s young, only about 15, and she has strawberry blonde, almost red hair. In other photos, her hair looked lighter, but here I really see the red hues. Totally Little Mermaid material!

I still think they may not cast Ariel that young, though. I know that traditionally she’s only 16, but for the context of this show, if they want to give the character a full on, true love romance storyline, they could do that more effectively with an Ariel that’s several years older.

They could push her age up to around 20 and still keep the theme of the story where her father doesn’t want her running off. And around 20 makes her mature enough to have a proper relationship.

Obviously I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’d love her with Hook, but even if Prince Eric is someone different, they still need to be able to show that storyline. The Little Mermaid is one of my faves, but seriously, the girl ran off when she was 16 and got married. You may be able to get away with that in an animated movie, but when you’re dealing with real life actors, maybe not so much.

Considering the creators have said that Ariel won’t show up this Season, I highly doubt Laine is playing her. Why would they cast Ariel and even film her for the Season finale if they said she wasn’t showing up until Season 3 at the earliest? Something doesn’t add up….

I’ve said this in another thread, but I still don’t get how 16 is seen as tradition for Ariel and not the other Disney Princesses. They’re all teenagers; Snow White, for example, is the youngest of the lineup with only 14 and she’s grown up enough to have a daughter in the show.

That’s what I think will happen as well.

While I personally see Lanie as more a Tinkerbell (she looks very delicate and tiny) I wouldn’t be surprised if she was Ariel and we just got a hint of her in the end of 222.

I don’t think Laine MacNeil’s youth precludes her from being Ariel. If anything, she best fits the profile in my mind, since Ariel was only 16. She’s got the right color hair, which would satisfy a lot of Disney “purists” who insist on Ariel being a red head. The Little Mermaid doesn’t necessarily have to include the pirate. I actually prefer Ariel be with the traditional Prince Eric. And Once doesn’t have to show Ariel getting married; it could just be a sweet teen romance. Finally, I agree that we may just see a glimpse of Ariel in the finale, and we’ll meet her more in S3.

Gosh I hope Laine MacNeil will not play Ariel…I have googled her and I don’t find her attractive one bit. She looks like a 9 yo boy with long hair…. 😕
