I believe that the element of power the portal lacked was whatever gave it direction. So having the compass added that necessary ingredient to completely power the portal. If you jumped into it without the compass, it wouldn’t have the power to know where you wanted to go and you could have ended up anywhere, or maybe just stuck in a neverending portal that couldn’t actually send you to an actual destination.

What if they would have said Storybrook or used Gold’s real name kind of like the bean thing.

Also, what happened to Cinderella’s Prince did he go down to the well too? All at once he is SB strange.

I swear H and K talked about that in a recent podcast. I’m trying to recall which one, but they said something like:
We don’t know where Thomas went in FTL but he and Ella were kept apart until Rumple got what he wanted in SB, which was the deal with Emma (which was of course to find his child, which was similar to his deal with Ella). So until Rumple got what he wanted Ella and Thomas were separated.

So Thomas broke a deal with Rumple but is alive to tell about it then huh ❓

Got the new Entertainment Weekly yesterday and there was a tiny blurb on the Once finale in their Must Watch section. I don’t have the quote in front of me, but they spoiled that the fail safe will be used/detonated.

That makes me sad. Saying goodbye to Storybrooke. But so excited to say hello to Neverland and possibly the present day EF too. I just like the town!
