I still think the Genie has no powers, like I said before he could have told Regina that he would grant her 3 wishes, but I don’t think he had the power to do so anymore after being set free I think his powers was only reserved for the 1 wish only after that he was just a normal person. In my opinion he has nothing to offer except the magic mirror that Regina had that perhaps the BF can use if he is in SB. Remember even after the curse was broken Regina didn’t have her magic if Emma didn’t touch her she still might not have it.
I think RumblesGirl may have been on the right track, he is connected to PP or perhaps to Robin Hood some how before he met Snow’s father. I wonder if that bow and arrow came from the Genie instead of a fairy?
[adrotate group="5"]It could be SB Sidney escaping from the hospital, with flashbacks to maybe how he ended up in the lamp – parallels of escape and imprisonment. And yeah, he could be connected to Neverland or Pan or Tink somehow as well. Pan has been plotting for many years so, like Rumple, could have crossed paths with many of the main characters pasts and past family members.

I think Genie still had to have some magic because he became the Enchanted Mirror. None of Regina’s mirrors were enchanted UNTIL the Genie was cursed to live inside them. So I think he retains some magic. If you’ve seen Aladdin, even after the Genie is freed at the end of the movie, he is still magical. You don’t stop being a magical creature.

He fancied that he and Regina were in love; so what he did, he did thinking they would run away together, not that she was tricking him.If she had tried to get him to grant her wishes, he would have realized that she was using him. Also, he was free. He was under no obligation to do anything for her. He had to do it willingly.

This isn’t the original SW story. It’s Once’s version of it. And we’ve never seen Regina use an enchanted mirror until the Genie was put into it and then his face became the face in the enchanted mirror of the original SW story. And no, the mirror she used on Cora is completly different. That mirror is a doorway, not an enchanted mirror. It goes to WL.

There is always the chance that Sidney knows Cyrus and could interact with him or Alice if any Once Wonderland characters make cameo appearances on the main show.

Esposito will appear in one of Season 3′s first episodes, though mum’s the word on which of his alter egos he will be playing — Storybrooke newspaper man Sidney Glass, the Evil Queen’s royally smitten Magic Mirror, or even the Genie of Agrabah.
Isn’t there a casting call for Robin Hood again and if so I am leaning more to the fact that the Genie gave Robin Hood the magic bow and arrow but maybe this is a lead into Aladdin. Or maybe the “HE” is Aladdin that is looking for Henry?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Genie was tied to the Aladdin story somehow. But I would be surprised if they tried to bring in the story of Aladdin right now with everything else that’s going on. We already have PP and Tink to meet at the start of the season, plus all the other characters already there. Bringing in the whole gang from Aladdin’s story too would be overkill.

I’ve been thinking for a while that we might see Cyrus arrive in SB to kick off the WL show and tie it all together. That was based on what looks like a portal in Granny’s in the WL promo though, and as far as we know, Sidney is still in the hospital basement, so that doesn’t really fit. It would be fun to see the two genies have a connection from way back though.
