I’ve been lurking around on this thread for a while and decided I’d finally chime in. I’m completely obsessed with Captain Swan right now. It’s ridiculous. I’ve never been this emotionally attached to a ship before. And it’s completely wonderful. lol
I just went over and lurked on the Swanfire thread for a little bit just because I was curious and I’ve gotta say, even if I wasn’t a shipping woman, I would still ship Captain Swan for no other reason than the fact that I’m incapable of shipping Swanfire. I really like Neal. I can’t wait till his story gets fleshed out. But I just think that he and Emma are better off having a close friendship where he can still have a parent-child relationship with Henry.
Now granted, I am a bit biased due to personal experiences. There was this guy that I had been best friends with since kindergarten. I had romantic notions about him off and on, but by our junior year, I realized that I could never be in a romantic relationship with him. I just didn’t feel that way about him. We were still really close though, and he was the only guy that I wasn’t related to that had the level of trust I had in him. Fast forward to November of our senior year, and out of the blue he decided to start doing online schooling, and after he left, I didn’t hear from him at all. No matter how much I tried to contact him. I asked him about it a couple years later when I had actually managed to get him to hang out for a little bit, and he told me that he had found my attempts at ongoing conversation annoying and that he thought if he ignored me I’d just forget about it. (Those are my words and I’m paraphrasing, but that’s what it boiled down to.)
It’s not a direct parallel to Emma’s situation with Neal, but it’s close enough where I personally just can’t see them in a romantic relationship again. Did they have a decent thing going in the past? Given their circumstances, I’d say yes. But they’ve both changed, and while they might still love each other, that doesn’t mean they have enough of the right kind of love to not only get together again, but STAY together.
Emma and Killian, on the other hand, just make sense. Especially after the end of the winter finale. You can see on his face when Emma opens the door how much he LOVES this woman. It’s not “Oh, you’re a cool person and I like you and it’s amazing to see you again”. It’s not “I’m really attracted to you and we make a great team and I think we’re definitely friends”. It’s “I meant everything I said in Neverland. You made me realize I could move on from Milah. I will fight for you. I respect you as a person, so if you don’t want me I will respect that, but I know what I’m feeling and I think I can make you feel the same toward me. We kissed, and you and I both know that it felt right. I love you, and when I told you that I would think of you everyday I meant it. And I have. And I’m finally seeing you in the flesh again, and you don’t recognize me, but I LOVE YOU.”. That’s what Killian’s face says to me (well, not to me, but I wouldn’t complain if it were to say that to me 😉 ) in those couple of seconds. And the fact that he goes for TRUE LOVE’S KISS… can it be any more obvious how he feels about her?
As for Emma’s feelings toward him, I don’t think she’s at the same level as him yet (disregarding the fact that to her he’s currently a creepy though attractive stranger who knocked on her door raving about her family being in trouble then kissed her). She pretty obviously has feelings for him, and I think we all know that kiss won’t be a “one time thing”, but she’s still hurting because of Neal and everything else she’s gone through in her life. I think she really wants to fall head over heels in love with Killian, and a part of her maybe has, but the dominant part of her mind is still focused on protecting her heart, and taking this relationship slowly so that she can judge for herself if this man can change his villainous past and become a man who will truly fight for her and earn her love. I think they’re relationship is just beautiful, and I hope we see it blossom into something 100% definite by the end of the season.
(Holy wow that post ended up long. I wish I could get that into the research paper I’m supposed to be writing right now. lol 🙂 )

Let me tell you guys what is gonna be amazing about what is coming.
The fact that Hook found Emma, he transcended the realms to find her. He was separated from her for an entire year and looked for her for an entire year. That is a very dang telling sign in and of itself.
I think that the how and what Hook did to get back will be saved for later on in the season because I think he had assistance in how he found Emma. Perhaps Tink using her dust, she’s completely for Hook and Emma, that was the entire purpose of the flashback, then cemented in the church scene.

It’s just…so beautiful. Started out so full of hope for Hook and even knowing that it might not work, he had to try. He is IN LOVE WITH HER and in it for the long haul and full of hope. For a second it’s easy to forget that it doesn’t work with memory loss. That maybe just maybe it would work, because she seemed shocked to see him and then totally leaned in and closed her eyes for the kiss too. I feel really really good about this!

Also there’s the fact that every time we saw Snow recover from a memory curse – first person she sees is Charming. For Belle, it’s Rumple. For Emma it’s gonna be Hook.

Ummm, yeah. How did I miss the whole deal with the plants?? I was trying to figure out what they were there for. The only thing I could come up with was that they were there to show how different Emma is now since she wasn’t exactly a potted plant type of girl before. But of course!! The beanstalk!! And NL – the place where she kissed Killian – surrounded by green plants. Of course she would want to surround herself with green plants, even if she doesn’t know why!! The chain was a nice touch. That one puzzled me too, glad someone pointed that out. Did anyone notice anything else?
Yeah, i missed the thing with the plants too. But i think it may just be shipper bias that we’re noticing these things lol. Kinda like SFers think the song is a SF thing.
The only thing I found strange was that Henry didn’t seem like his usual, upbeat, chatty self. But it was morning and there might not be much to talk about. But at one or two spots I thought he had kind of a nasty PP like expression on his face. It just didn’t look like normal Henry. Did anyone else notice that?
Honestly? I think his hormones have kicked in and the writers wanted to show that. He’s a year older. He’s got a deeper voice and everything. He probably won’t be upbeat and chatty all the time now – he’s going to be a moody teenager sometimes haha. I have a younger brother who has just started to enter that stage.
Hook and Henry are the two that have come back FOR HER even after she’s abandoned them. Everyone else has abandoned HER and then SHE found THEM. I don’t think it’s remotely a coincidence that Hook is the one to show up to her door to get her to believe and go back with him to help save everyone. It’s SO much like Henry in the pilot. Can’t wait for more parallels!

I havent been able to listen to the CSpodcast, for some reason it wont just play- it keeps stalling out & crashing on me, so I gave up trying I havent been able to listen to anypod casts at all, which I miss (stupid win8)

I love how they’ve been book-ending the seasons/mini-seasons and this one popped up on tumblr. (Can’t wait for my complete rewatch in looking for clues the entire way based on what we know now but for now this will have to do!) I love these two and once again, the book-ending seems significant for CS!

Yes, i agree though, apart from the pixie dust part, i don’t think that’s how it’s going to play out, personally. Since pixie dust appears to be rare. Although so are magic beans…. All i know is that the actress who plays Rapunzel talked about “not spilling the beans” when asked about her character or something. GIMME A BEAN PLEASE.

Actually you know what, there were too many callbacks to the beanstalk in this episode for me to ignore – tall plants, the cuffs, and the chain on the wall.
So no shipper bias present, i think we can safely say 😉
