ParticipantIt was nice to have the discussion for awhile but now, I feel like again, it’s the CSF thread is going nowhere again and I’m back to being aggravated again.

ParticipantWe have pretty pretty things, let’s focus on that!
I will NEVER be over this. It’s like when MM reacts to Emma’s blanket and you think for a moment she might remember and then doesn’t. But there’s a sense of familiarity even though she can’t place it. That’s what Emma’s reaction to Hook does for me because she’s trying to figure it out (and I wanna know why she’s shocked – has she been dreaming of someone who looks like him? Did the book show up and he’s in it and she’s stunned and doesn’t know what to think like when she borrowed Henry’s book after meeting Jefferson but still refused to believe even though it was a good likeness?)
She has the shackles from the beanstalk hanging on her wall, she’s got lots of plants that look like the beanstalk on her nursery ceiling all over the place, and then there’s this. Seriously. Tell me she looks like she absolutely hates it rather than she’s done it a million times and is completely comfortable. For a split second, it was the most natural thing in the world to her before her rational mind woke up and said “he’s a stranger, what are you doing?” And even after that? She did what she did before turning to go join him on the beanstalk: she licked her lips.
But this moment. Yeah she totally hates him and doesn’t feel any sense of familiarity, like maybe she’s dreamed of it often or somewhere deep deep down remembers this as a GOOD thing – she was “feeling good” when she kissed him the last time. (Also since people will say it’s just cause he’s hot or whatever, there is NOTHING wrong with actually being ATTRACTED to the person you love. In fact it’s kind of, you know, encouraged? But there is SO much more to CS than that and she snapped out of it and reacted appropriately after a brief moment because to her he IS a stranger right now.)
It’s just…so beautiful. Started out so full of hope for Hook and even knowing that it might not work, he had to try. He is IN LOVE WITH HER and in it for the long haul and full of hope. For a second it’s easy to forget that it doesn’t work with memory loss. That maybe just maybe it would work, because she seemed shocked to see him and then totally leaned in and closed her eyes for the kiss too. I feel really really good about this!
Also there’s the fact that every time we saw Snow recover from a memory curse – first person she sees is Charming. For Belle, it’s Rumple. For Emma it’s gonna be Hook. He’s the one that’s there, trying TLK to break her curse even though it won’t work with memory loss, and he’ll be the one to remind her of who she is so that she can go help everyone. Can’t wait! (And yay for future gifsets of these things happening but seriously – he’s the one that’s there and all these things are happening that are parallels to the two biggest TL couples on the show. It’s significant.)

BlockedOkay, so I just finished reading all of the new posts on the CSF thread. If I may make a suggestion to all of my CS shippers to avoid that thread in future and stick to their own ships.Until this “triangle” is conclusively over, there is only bound to be more mudslinging. And that’s what it’s come down to.I started lurking on this site over a year ago and really enjoyed the conversations about OUAT, but I feel that it’s not about that anymore.I’ve gone over to a few other sites, including FB, only to find the same thing happening there. Its either about Hook or Neal, as if they and Emma are the only three characters on this show. And ABC publicity isn’t helping matters by pitting one against the other. Heck, it helps ratings doesn’t it? I personally haven’t bothered to reply to any negative posts here because I just don’t need the stress in my life.
@surayya, I completely agree with your previous post. The podcast, although I do enjoy it, is very pro-SF, and dismissive of Hook as a character. I find that most of the other podcasts I listen to are the same, with the exception of the Captain Swan Podcast (kudos to whoever it was on this thread to recommended it–it’s very funny) Why all of the Neal love??>Is it because he’s Henry’s father or because we as a fandom all loved Bae?>I’m sorry, but I can’t reconcile the two characters of Neal and Bae .IMO, they are completely different entities. The Bae who fought for Wendy and her brothers would have fought for Emma. Neal didn’t. And TBH, I was completely okay with Neal as a suitor for Emma until he brought Tamara into the mix. (the “I need her” speech from season two -can’t remember the episode title- where Neal tells Emma that Tamara is coming to SB) .<>Everything else I dislike about the character snowballed from there. I will be truly disappointed if Hook and Emma are not a “thing” by the end of the season. There’s been more character interaction and development between Hook and Emma from Tallahassee on, than with Neal and Emma in these two seasons. They’ve basically pounded us over the head with CS from their first meeting, and from what I’ve seen of the spoilers, it’s still happening. If A and E have no intention of having a Hook and Emma pairing, then what was the point of all this?
<<>*goes back to lurking, in peace*
< <>actually lola every very podcast I have listened to specifically after the last episode including this one has said that it’s clear that captain swan is where theyre going and they’re now even saying that it’s likely endgame. True loves always fight and find each other like hook did for Emma and every podcast has also stated that the goodbye between Neal and Emma had no romantic tones it was very platonic.
So I would listen to the podcasts from the last episode for various sites because I can promise you they’re now starting to pick up.

ParticipantGood to know @hookian – thanks for the heads up! I know I stopped catching up on a bunch of them that were blatantly ignoring any of the even obvious parallels with CS because it got too frustrating. Personally I find it fascinating that the ones who taught me to look more in depth and notice the structure, camera angles etc etc have been hardcore denying CS is a real thing until very very recently, and one of the podcasts I love for the people is split down the middle on shipping and doesn’t do all the detailed stuff but at least it’s fun to listen to because both are represented.
I’d really love to be able to catch up on the others though. Been pretty busy and just gave up for awhile because it was so one-sided. I miss them, even if they don’t think my ship exists. We’ll just have to wait for the show to prove us right. It’s been doing a pretty good job so far! Look how far we’ve come! (And some of us have been here from the beginning – man was that rough!)

ParticipantOh, yay! Glad that thread could be closed too. I much prefer it when everyone is getting along! I think everyone is so well intentioned and a big part of the problem is that things very often don’t come across the way the way they are intended when they are written. I know my emails, etc. can often come across as very harsh when I don’t mean for them to be that way at all. If I was saying the same thing to someone it would hopefully come across kinder because you could see that I am smiling or joking, etc.
I also think in this particular situation that are a lot of us who have personal history that we compare to traits or situations that we interpret from SF or CS. So we may feel strongy for or against one ship because of personal biases as well. And when we read something that feels like it is attacking our personal issue, it gets us worked up and then we feel defensive, angry, frustrated etc. The thing that’s hard is that the poor person who posted doesn’t even know that someone who has a touchy personal histoy is reading their post – they weren’t purposely trying to attack your personal issue or point of view. I know I have been guilty on more than one occassion of getting my shipper feathers ruffles because a poor SF person posted something that hit me where I am sensitive. So I have also decided to just hang out on our ship for awhile.
Poor Rumplesgirl – you have to read everything even if you don’t want to. Hugs to you!!

ParticipantUmmm, yeah. How did I miss the whole deal with the plants?? I was trying to figure out what they were there for. The only thing I could come up with was that they were there to show how different Emma is now since she wasn’t exactly a potted plant type of girl before.
But of course!! The beanstalk!! And NL – the place where she kissed Killian – surrounded by green plants. Of course she would want to surround herself with green plants, even if she doesn’t know why!!
The chain was a nice touch. That one puzzled me too, glad someone pointed that out. Did anyone notice anything else?
The only thing I found strange was that Henry didn’t seem like his usual, upbeat, chatty self. But it was morning and there might not be much to talk about. But at one or two spots I thought he had kind of a nasty PP like expression on his face. It just didn’t look like normal Henry. Did anyone else notice that?
Maybe this new life hasn’t worked out so great for Henry? Do you think his name will still be Henry? I’m hoping we find out his name is now Killian or Liam.

Participant@rumplegoldfan – I’m thinking she actually called him Henry, didn’t she? Plus since Regina put in the memories, I’m sure she’d want to be able to think that Henry is out there somewhere happy and actually know his name is Henry. (Though I suppose he’s Henry Swan right now, doesn’t have quite the same ring to it, but he’s still Henry!) In fact I imagine that the memories she gave Emma are basically the ones that she had with Henry when he was growing up when things were still good, at least when he was really little and the rest the way she wishes she had done it. She has all that experience and as she’s reminded us again and again, she was there for everything when he was little and knows how to deal with him being upset or angry. So I think a lot of it was just giving Emma her memories in a way.
As for why he seemed a little different – we are a product of our experiences. He’s had an entirely different life this time around. We saw how dejected he was before MM gave him the book but after that all we saw was the trust believer because he was on a mission and became stronger through that. Now he’s had a “normal” existence and hasn’t had to be as much of a fighter for something as he was before. I didn’t catch any PP type reactions to anything, but if there were it’s easily explained since he is his great-grandson. I really just think it’s that this version of Henry hasn’t been through all the bad stuff.
I love her apartment but there wasn’t a whole lot to go on with the stuff. Most of it is probably meaningless or at least exaggerated by shipper bias as to what it might mean (most things are important so I imagine it does carry some significance somewhere). I really want to see more of it though. I wasn’t getting a whole lot off the artwork and its meanings, but I did love that she was surrounded by plants. It reminded me of the beanstalk which we’ve seen in various art from her life along the way, as well as NL. I don’t recall the Emma who lived in Boston having a ton of these plants all over the place. Pretty sure this is a reminder from a deeply buried memory that it makes her happy somehow.
I cracked up that she had the shackles on her wall though! Definitely a callback to leaving Hook on the beanstalk as much as she hated doing it. She’s only abandoned 2 people in her life and we know she regretted doing that with Henry and her actions / words have regretted doing that to Hook and she’s done it twice (notice she didn’t tell Neal in Manhattan if she had/didn’t have a problem with leaving Hook behind – she just said it wasn’t the first time she had done it). But she’s learned she can trust him now and that they make a great team and she should have trusted her instincts but was afraid to because of her past with Neal and now she’s gonna have to learn all of that all over again (enough to be able to trust Hook so he can get her to remember everything).
Hook and Henry are the two that have come back FOR HER even after she’s abandoned them. Everyone else has abandoned HER and then SHE found THEM. I don’t think it’s remotely a coincidence that Hook is the one to show up to her door to get her to believe and go back with him to help save everyone. It’s SO much like Henry in the pilot. Can’t wait for more parallels!
Then the whole wording of that scene just….”My family’s right here.” “Mom, you forgot something.” “You have to remember.”
Is it March yet? Can it be March now please?

ParticipantOk, so I dont have a lot of time to post (& havent even finished reading this page yet), but I just want to say:
@hookian If that is the case I will most definitely listen to this last’s ep podcast (I used to LOVE oncepodcasts, until all the pro SF, Anti CS kept coming into play)I havent been able to listen to the CSpodcast, for some reason it wont just play- it keeps stalling out & crashing on me, so I gave up trying 🙁 I havent been able to listen to anypod casts at all, which I miss (stupid win8)
@RG THANK YOU! I didnt post in there, but came away from it FUMING when I read it last time. After reading the post in there this time, I wanted to ask SF shippers a Q, but decided it was best not to, because I didnt think I’d get a answer sans CS comparison/bashing.
Do people in here who frequent or lurk in the SF thread, think I could ask them a few questions & NOT receive answers based on how it’s relates to CS? (Q = How do they feel about the 8:15 Emma/Henry/Neal thing, after the events of this last ep & Do they want to see Neal reconcile with his past more {as in accepting what he was & what he went through, like Emma had too in NL}, before he gets into a serious relationship?) I only want answers as they relate to their own ship not ours though (I dont want to be told it means nothing to CS because etc. I am really curious as to what they think now (I know some felt 8:15 was important when I read the thread of doom/CSF). I have asked on another site I frequent (which has a mix of SF & CS shippers, but they never really felt 8:15am had any real SF connections in the 1st place, so couldnt give me an answer lol & are split pretty 50/50 on whether a day or 2 is enough to honestly have accepted & move past feeling as he does). I dont want them to feel like I’m wanting them to defend their ship or anything, but I am really curious, if they feel about Neal, how we felt about Hook (to begin with).

Participant@Jennifer – I wrote about this on tumblr but I’ll copy it in here as well regarding what happened with the curse and reversing it. August should still be young Pinocchio & was sent back with everyone else. Everything that happened, happened. So everything up until Emma chose to keep Henry was the same as before, and everything after were the fake memories for her. The only thing that would be real-esque would be the past year where it was all her choices and not implanted memories from Regina, but everyone in the EF remembers SB and everything that happened (so no getting back characters we lost etc etc).
To OUR world, it would be like Storybrooke never existed, thus Emma & Henry’s memories of it had to go as well as Storybrooke itself. Everything was sent back. It’s also why EVERYONE (other than Emma) not of our world had to go back as they weren’t supposed to be here in the first place.
Emma was able to stay because of the Savior loophole, and Alexandra (Cinderella’s daughter) was conceived in Fairy Tale Land so was sent back with everyone else.
Basically the counter-curse was getting everything OUT of our world that wasn’t supposed to ever have been here. It’s why even those who weren’t cursed couldn’t cross the line to stay with Emma and Henry. They would have been whisked away with the others no matter what.
To everyone in Fairy Tale Land, Storybrooke DID exist. They remember all of it. Everything that happened, happened.
Judging by the promo they land in FTL suddenly back in their FTL clothes and Snow has long hair etc. They’re standing in almost the same places as when they were engulfed in the smoke and I don’t see Archie so I’m guessing he may be a cricket again. August should still be the kid either way.
This had nothing to do with the old curse vs the counter-curse, nothing to do with being able to cross the town line etc etc. It was about getting what should never have been in our world, out of our world. To make it as though it never happened because it never should have happened. Emma was the only exception because she was actually written into the curse and someone needed to stay with Henry.
As for the book, I’m still thinking the fairies had something to do with it. When we see Snow question Blue in the flashback, the wardrobe isn’t done yet. By the time Pinocchio is going through the wardrobe and Emma is sent through, Blue speaks of “final preparations” with the fairies. All we know for sure is that she has hope that somehow their “story” would be told and we know it appeared in SB.
August spent 2 years looking for Emma before she went to jail, and once she was in jail he took Neal’s money and went to Thailand which is where he stayed until his leg started turning back to wood. So I don’t think he had anything to do with the book except to add in his own story later on. I could be wrong, but that’s the impression I’m getting right now. We definitely need some Blue backstory to find out how the book got there for sure but it seems to be something that would be sent over when the need arose possibly, since it suddenly appeared in MM’s closet.
I love how they’ve been book-ending the seasons/mini-seasons and this one popped up on tumblr. (Can’t wait for my complete rewatch in looking for clues the entire way based on what we know now but for now this will have to do!) I love these two and once again, the book-ending seems significant for CS!
