I read your question that you put forward in the CaptainSwan thread and responses. I find it so interesting that we all interpret things so differently. I wanted to reply with my interpretation of the echo caves but didn’t want to invade the cs thread, but i’ll stick it here ;p
Emma tells Neal that his presence causes her pain and makes it harder for her to move on, which is a choice she has made. She said she can’t change her feelings. And Neal’s response “I’ll never stop fighting for you. Never” – is essentially ignoring that choice, and over-riding her feelings.
I didn’t pick up on her saying she wanted to move on. Just that it would be a lot easier to do so than facing the pain. If Emma had said I don’t love you, then I would agree that saying I will fight for you would be ignoring her choice but she never. She began by saying ’I love you and I probably always will’. A few days previously they both declared their love for each other when Neal fell through the portal. Neal is human and feared rejection. We all make mistakes. He acknowledges that he should of came and found Emma when the curse broke but I’m happy he is going to put up a fight for her now!
I think Emma has been giving mixed signals to both Neal and Hook mainly because she doesn’t know what she’s feeling. If Emma had said out right to Neal that she wasn’t interested in him, she doesn’t love him any more, she’s over him, etc then Neal would definitely not try and “fight” for Emma. He would respect her choice, even if it’s not what he wanted to hear. The same probably goes for Hook. Yet both men are trying to prove themselves to her because they both think they’ve still got a chance however small. Emma has currently shut them both down whilst Henry is in danger, but she’s only delayed the inevitable. Hook was right when he said Emma would have to make a choice, question is, will it be the right one?

And when he can’t control her the way he wants to his solution is to have her loose all of her memories – even her memories of him??? Doesn’t really seem like he was actually wanting to find his daughter with the intent of being reunited so he could have a relationship with her. Sounds more like he wanted to find her because he had already figured out that she had fallen in love with Rumple and wanted to get revenge by taking her away from him.
So at the end of the day, I don’t know that it is possible for Belle and her father to have a relationship. Belle has made it clear to father on at least two occasions that we have seen (when she chose to go with Rumple to save her village and when she chose to stay with him in SB) that she doesn’t like having people make decisions for her and she is also very big on unconditional love. I don’t think she would be interested in a relationship with her father until he can accept that she has chosen to be with Rumple. I can, however, see her trying to arrange some kind of meeting between Rumple and her father to work out their problems with one another and to let them know that she would like it if they could find a way to get along for HER. I think Rumple has come far enough that he would apologize and do what it would take to try to get along with Moe because Belle is so important to him. I don’t know if Moe is the kind of man who could do the same. But Belle is independent enough and confident in who she is that she would recognize she gave him a chance, would love Rumple all the more for trying, and would move right along with her life with Rumple if her father couldn’t try for her.

Yeah I agree. And I don’t know if Moe has that in him. Will he ever see Rumple as anything but a monster? Even if Rumple looses his Dark One’s powers and becomes just a man again, can Moe ever see beyond what once was? That’s Belle’s unique gift. She can see what is in a person’s heart even when their outside appearance doesn’t seem to match. I’m not sure how they would have shown this, but Belle seems to have found a friend in Archie/Granny ect but in 307 there was no mention of Moe at all. I think Belle has made her choice and now it’s up to Moe to take that step.

I think he and Smee knew Rumple was dangerous, so they didn’t have much time to do whatever they were going to do, so they rushed to the back-up plan. It was not well-thought out but I do not think it was motivated by revenge, because if that was the case, he wouldn’t have wasted time talking to her at all. He wouldn’t say to her she doesn’t understand–because what she understands or not wouldn’t matter.
About Hook and Neal–we do have the CSF thread and it tends to produce stormy waters as people have intense opinions. I agree that Emma’s emotions are unclear, because she has been written to be a character that can repress what she truly feels. What is clear is she told both guys to back off the love game, because right now, all she wants is her son back. They both acknowledged that’s what she wants. While some people unfairly take Neal’s line about fighting for her from an earlier episode as coming after her declaration to back off, the context was different as Red said. I am glad they’re taking a break from it but not glad they aren’t resolving it.
I dislike these triangle plotlines!
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
November 13, 2013 at 5:58 pm #223585PriceofMagicParticipantI think the CaptainSwanFire triangle is a better triangle than the MM/David/Kathryn triangle in season 1 because the CSF triangle could literally go either way. With the season 1 triangle, it was so clear that Charming and Snow were meant to end up together that it took all of the “who’s it gonna be” element out of it.
Saying that, I hope the CSF triangle isn’t dragged out beyond season 3. I’m expecting it to be resolved within episodes 12-22.

As Moe sees it, Belle is choosing to be a gangster’s girl. Moe will always hate the gangster for this, and a part of Moe wants to hate Belle (even though he loves her) for her decision, so that taints his attempts to help her out of that lifestyle.

I have every confidence that the full triangle will be resolved before 322. E and A watch the ratings and the reviews like the rest of us and everywhere I look–here, Tumblr, news reviews, ect—everyone wants this triangle over. It’s emotionally exhausting for both sides and once it’s settled, we can move on.
And now for something slightly more palatable.
If we leave out the big four–Snowing, Rumbelle, CS, and SF–what ship (romance, friendship, crack) do you want to see more of? Anything and everything!
I would love to see more of Grumpbelle. I love their friendship.

I miss Rumbelle. There haven’t been a lot of rumbelle moments from season two. I used to read a rumbelle fanfic every day and then stopped. So, I’m hoping they’re not put on the back burner again.

I have been dying a slow death since 222. I have become a crazy person who insists on constantly keeping the Rumbelle thread updated with GIFS and pics. I may be going insane. 307 did not help cause it just highlighted how much I need my OTP back together now. (You hear that Sally! Tell your bosses I’m dying!)
