I loved the Arielle Belle friendship, more princess power! I also liked Archie-belle,
and of course the sass love fest of Granny and Grumpy.

November 13, 2013 at 11:04 pm #223672KebParticipantDwarf Star. I was so happy that they addressed it in GMS. But that can’t be the end of it.
I’d also like to see them go back and at least mention Frederick & Abigail and Ella & Thomas. I’m glad they’re living happily in SB and I don’t want more drama in their lives, but they MATTER.

November 14, 2013 at 7:13 am #223690PriceofMagicParticipantAs much as I hate to admit it, perhaps Blue Fairy was right in breaking up Dreamy/Nova. If their love prevented Nova from being a fairy, which Nova so clearly loves, then Nova would’ve began to resent Dreamy. IN the GMS, Grumpy met up with Nova with the hope that they could get back together citing that she wasn’t a nun anymore. Nova rejected him (without Blue Fairy’s interference) saing that she was still a fairy. Clearly being a fairy means a lot to Nova, more than Dreamy did.
As for ships I’d like to see more of: RumBelle (obviously), Ariel/Belle, Grumpy/Belle, RegalCat (It won’t be romantic but I’d love for those two characters to share scenes), Charming/Rumple, Neal/Rumple, Neal/Henry, Emma/Henry, Regina/Henry. It would be nice to see Frederick/Abigail and Cinderella/Thomas again just to catch up on how they’re doing.
Here’s something to consider: Is Ruby a bad friend to Belle?
Obviously, the real reason Ruby’s not around is because Meghan Ory’s on a different show and is unavailable. But what do you think the in-show reason for Ruby not being there for Belle could be?

Keeper of FelixNovember 14, 2013 at 7:26 am #223692MyrilParticipantStarted to write a posting but ended up with an essay about that there is more than romance. Posted that now on my own blog, if you’re interested: http://blindspot-time.blogspot.de/2013/11/there-is-more-than-romance.html
What my musing started with: Wish OUaT would show more friendship, BFF stories.
If we leave out the big four–Snowing, Rumbelle, CS, and SF–what ship (romance, friendship, crack) do you want to see more of? Anything and everything!
I would love to see more of Grumpbelle. I love their friendship.

To the point to be annoying, but clearly miss Red if it comes to this. Red’s and Snow’s friendship was just one of the best relationships of the show so far in my opinion and sure would like to see more of it (aware of the limits that are now there simply because Meghan Ory takes care of her career, and I hope her new show will succeed). Wouldn’t have been somewhat awkward maybe, but also would have liked to see Emma and Red developing a friendship. And the chemistry between Red and Belle was just great.
Possible that Ariel can now take over that role a bit, not replace Red, but give opportunity to show some nice BFF stuff. Eric? Who cares about Eric! 😉
More GrumpBelle would be fine with me too.
And I think we need some serious bromance on this show, but Hook and Charming have this tiny problem, that there is Emma, and Hook and Neal have this tiny problem, that there is Emma. Don’t see anyone else at the moment, although in the future there could be something possible with Robin Hood, with Neal, Charming or Hook.
Since I watched this Monday OUaT and Lost Girl one after another, my most favorite fictional bromance is a crossover, it’s Hook from OUaT and Vex from Lost Girl. Bet these two would be great together.

Can’t think of any good in-show reason. The dwarfs made it quite clear, that it was as peaceful in Storybrooke as it never has been, so my idea of Red being busy as interim sheriff doesn’t really work. And most certainly don’t want to imagine her being busy all day with Dr. Frankenstein, because that would indeed make her a bad friend. One can be in love but never should forget about friends in need, sorry. And I don’t think Red is this getting lost in romance type.
edit:
One of the pairings which doesn’t sit right for me is Graham and Red. I know the graphic novel is considered to be canon by many, but still don’t see that pairing. Being a werewolf and being raised by werewolves doesn’t really make a great reason for me to put them together. Maybe because there was really nothing to indicate that on the show before, not the tiniest breadcrump. Right, there was not much time to even hint at it, but to me it looks annoyingly much like some afterthought to try to appease the fans that Graham got killed so fast and that the writers failed to make good use of Red in second season – and that I can’t stand.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

I see this Ruby being a bad friend thing a lot around sites like Tumblr. I guess it’s because of of the hospital scene, letting Belle be drugged. I don’t know if I can fault Ruby for that. What was she supposed to do? Knock the syringe out of the nurse’s hand and drag Belle away?
As far as in show reason, none that I can think of. I’m sure we’ll get a “oh Ruby’s out for a run right now” line eventually.

See I liked the idea of them even before the graphic novel came out. To me it made a lot of sense for them, after they got their memories back, to form a bond. Though I do like Frankenwolf a lot as well, another one that just makes sense.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 14, 2013 at 9:34 am #223713kfchimeraParticipantI agree in the show there was no sign of huntsman/red, but it is apparently built up in the graphic novel. He likes wolves, she turns into one, they both have been outsiders, both have a connection with Snow. It is a story so almost anything can be developed.
I agree about missing friendships. I didn’t like Ruby, but when they showed Red I understood the character and completely changed my mind that she was just a trashy tart for eye-candy purposes with no plot reason. Hey! That’s the connection between Graham and Ruby…they were both a little skin-showing seemingly just eye-candy, but had deeper plot based internal conflict masking a good and caring personality ….but I digress.
I miss Emma/Snow as friends without the tension of the parental angst. I wonder if Emma and Snow feel that too, perhaps conflicted because Emma did want a mother and Snow did want to be a mother? I am conflicted too because I liked the S2 dynamic. It was only in S3 that the mother/daughter thing between them (like everything else in NL) became darker and depressing.

I think Snow and Emma totally miss the Emma/MM connection. They were best friends and then suddenly the entire dynamic shifted to mother/daughter. In 306 when Emma told Snow about kissing Hook it didn’t feel like she was telling her mother, it felt like they were two girlfriends gossiping, like they needed to be a in coffee house somewhere. I think Emma has very few friends in her life (she told us that she’s a bit of a loner in the pilot) and MM was her first true friend who not only gave her a home (which is huge in significance for Emma) but also called her on her crap (I love MM’s speech about Henry to Emma in 121 after Emma took off with him). And now Snow wants to be a mother but has no idea how and Emma is rejecting her efforts because of her Walls of China. I think they need to learn to be friends again knowing that they are family too before they can really be mother and daughter.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 14, 2013 at 9:59 am #223718killianhookfanParticipantI really liked the David/Gold, Charming/Rumple bromance scenes – they were pretty comical. But I don’t know how they will go back to those now that they know they are both Henry’s grandpas.
Henry desperately needs another kid to hang out with. Anyone. It doesn’t have to be a fairy tale character, I’ll take a common villager or a peasant child. Just please, for the love of all that’s Holy someone please find that child a friend that doesn’t dance around fire to pipe music.
I love the Ariel/Belle friendship mainly because The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast movies came out back to back when I was in high school so I always think of them together anyway.
I also thought it was fun to see Archie working with people in SB (Gold, Regina). I would like to see more of that. It could even help out the “triangle” situation a bit. If anyone watches Castle I liked the way they had Beckett talking to her psychologist during the season she was deciding when to tell Castle she loved him. It helped to lessen the frustration of “when are they EVER going to get together???” She was working through her fears and concerns so you knew how she felt and she was able to make little hints to Castle that weren’t just cryptic because you knew what she had talked about with her doctor. You knew what she was really thinking but there was still an element of the unknown because you didn’t know exactly what she was going to decide.
The thing I miss the most is that a lot of the interactions between the characters used to be comical at moments. I know that right now things are serious since Henry is in danger but I have been watching old episodes and I have forgotten how funny some of them were.

I love Charming/Rumple bromance. Rumple wants to be the romantic hero so badly, you can tell that he is often exasperated by Charming but he longs to be just as noble. I think Henry should have a grandfather supper. It’d be adorable

This times everything. Pinocchio, Grace, Hansel/Gretel, whoever. Another child please! (Maybe Wendy since in show she is supposed to be 13)
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 14, 2013 at 5:12 pm #223865PriceofMagicParticipantI think Grace may be the best option for a friend for Henry. Hansel and Gretel are 2 years older than Henry, Grace is around the same age whilst Pinocchio is younger. Older children don’t really want to hang around with younger children if they can help it. Hansel and Gretel would be 13 now, they wouldn’t want to be friends with an 11 year old. The only reason they talked to Henry in True North was because they were trying to use Henry to shop lift.
I think the only plausible explanation they can give for Ruby’s absence was that she was busy with Whale or moving into Whale’s place. The moving into Whale’s place might be the better option because it would explain why Ruby wasn’t there that exact day for Belle without implying that Ruby has just dropped Belle in favour of Whale. Maybe Ruby’s reappearance can have her apologise for not being able to be there for Belle because she was caught up in moving.
