I too would prefer CSF stay in CSF other than a simple acknowledgement that there IS CSF hovering in the harbor, but Emma’s choice is Henry. We may never see her choose more and I’d be happy with that if it is written well!
One last thing though to defend Screwball Ninja: The very sentence after the one that caused Hookian to dismiss Screwball’s entire essay was this : “And possibly not even then, since everyone’s related to Henry, making them his potential in-laws if he succeeds in his wooing.” Yes she made a joke, but did not reduce Hook’s interest to just that joke.

November 19, 2013 at 8:01 pm #225167RumplesGirlKeymasterWhat about Malcolm, Rumple’s mother and the Spinsters? How are the first two connected to the last two?
AKA: where is Rumple’s mother and did Malcolm ever love her?

That is why I suspected a dead fairy as mother theory, but not Blue. Then again why not! They totally had a Darth Vader moment with BF emerging from her flower.
So who else has parents we do not know about?
David: FatherHook: Father & Mother
Belle: Mother
Snow: Could learn more about Eva and her “slippers” if Oz comes into play.
Regina: Cora’s got to have some more eventful moments, and I was curious about Xavier’s kingdom though not sure we’d see him again. Did Regina have cousins?

November 19, 2013 at 8:34 pm #225173RumplesGirlKeymasterMy headcanon before 308 was that Rumple’s mother died in childbirth and that’s what turned Malcolm into who he is. But after the episode it seems like Malcolm was always a bit of a horrid person. So was Rumple’s mother even anyone important to Malcolm or just a one night companion?

My head cannon for Rumple’s mom is that she was the blacksmith less attractive daughter or the unattractive daughter of a relatively wealthy man. Malvolm either because he was a seeking an end to his servitude or poverty married the woman to improve his finances not out of love and he got stuck with a child he never truly loved by a woman he barely tolerated.
2. screwball Ninga has a huge bias and blinders when it comes to Belle. This taints her view on Rumbelle and Hook and Neal. Except for her willingness to discuss and arguments based on wealth and social class I don’t find her blog compelling.

Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.

The Spinsters seemed to already know Malcolm, so there’s gotta be a connection of some description. If they’re 2 of the 3 Fates/Fairies/Whatever they are, then perhaps Rumple’s mother is the missing 3rd.

The thread has never been locked, it was just pretty much abandoned because it was the same people arguing the same sides of the same points, going around in circles and getting somewhat heated.

It’s never auto corrected anything I’ve typed, so didn’t even know it could. Are you posting from your phone?
November 20, 2013 at 5:01 am #225224PriceofMagicParticipantI think the spinsters knew Malcolm because “everyone” in the village knew he was a liar and a cheat. They felt sorry for Rumple so they took him in out of the goodness of their hearts. I think perhaps the spinsters approached Malcolm about Rumple rather than the other way around. Question is, Why?
It’s hard to say about Rumple’s mother except that she wasn’t just a one night companion for Malcolm. I don’t think she did die in childbirth either because otherwise Malcolm would have probably just dropped baby Rumple off at an orphanage or left him on someone’s doorstep etc. Malcolm did care for Rumple in his own way but I don’t think he “raised” him per se. Malcom had enough of a bond to care for Rumple which suggests he’s been present for Rumple’s childhood but not enough to suggest he raised him like Rumple did with Bae so I think Rumple’s mother was around to do the hard work of raising Rumple from a baby to a child.
What if Rumple’s mother left him like Milah left Bae. It would explain why Rumple was so angry at Milah and also show that the family cycle of abandonment has repeated itself.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixNovember 20, 2013 at 8:40 am #225244RumplesGirlKeymasterMy new theory about Malcolm and Rumple’s mother is that it was a one night fling and he got saddled with the baby. So not only is Rumple is greatest burden but also a reminder of his biggest mistake.
