She’s probably got some super booster fertiliser growth accelerator spell up her sleeve. 😉

I know they said that time was the same in parallel worlds but I’m beginning to wonder if 100 years to FTL means less time in our world…(maybe just in how they refer to it)…or to a giant 100 years is only say 10 years in FTL and our world. Or maybe they are setting us up for some big reveal about time. Then again maybe it’s just a plot hole. 😀 geez is Sunday here yet.
I think this is how they will eventually explain it, but does it make sense?? The same amount of time seemed to have passed for the resident of SB and for Emma/Snow when they were trapped in the FTL in the first half of the season. Days and nights lined up together.

Favorite Moment
* I really loved Emma insisting on bringing Henry with her–she knows Cora is out there, and his safety comes first. Even over the deal with Rumpelstiltskin.
* I did enjoy the scenes with the Giant, and it is great that his character is able to give more to the plot as well. I did feel bad for him when Jack and James were tricking him, and when his brothers were just making fun of him.
* James was a total jerk and it was enjoyable to watch him. He was a character I enjoyed hating. 🙂
* Really loved watching Snow White and Prince Charming fighting together to keep the town stable.
* Both Jennifer Morrison and Robert Carlyle were awesome together. It is hard to imagine these two characters together, but it really works. And it is really great of Emma to help him after he threatened her and her family’s life.
* Grumpy was seriosuly funny in this episode. 🙂 He has some of the best one-liners.
Least Favorite Moment
* Regina felt a bit off in this episode. I don’t know if it is the writing or the acting, but there was something not right about her. At first I had thought that it was simply Cora in disguise, but given her reaction to Henry leaving, I’m certain that was the real Regina.
* Jack herself was not a very interesting person, though that is due to there not being much shown about her. She was greedy and callous, but not much else goes to development with her, which is a shame given the built-up to her with some of the released pictures of her.
* The scene with Greg and Belle felt like it didn’t really belong. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t feel in place with the whole episode.

I’m guessing we’ll see more of her in at least one future ep. They didn’t drop the bomb about her having slayed the Jabberwock just for the helluvit. There’s a story there waiting to be told.

-Just about every scene with Mr. Gold. Good lord, Robert Carlyle is a genius. That scene in the bathroom blew me away. Him repeatedly bashing his fist into the bathroom stall felt like a release of all the negative and nervous tension he’s been living under for the past 300 years. Robert…I…you…ugh, I just love you.
-Regina. Girl, I have missed you! I know some people want her to move forward with her quest for redemption, but I’ve always been a big fan of the Evil Queen. However, I do want to Regina to turn around and eventually stab Cora in the back. Cora needs to go down. She’s a threat to all my favorite characters. Rumpel, Regina and well…EVERYONE!
-Mr. Gold’s diss to Charming at the beginning of the episode. Good lord, I never get tired of that. 😆
-Belle and Ruby’s scene in the hospital. I don’t like the way she was treated, but I thought Emilie de Ravin was really good in the scene and it demonstrated just how lonely and unstable cursed Belle really was.
-Snow shooting the arrow at Anton. Get him mama!
-David’s name is David. Sorry, but that had me rolling on the floor. 😆Least Favorite Moments:
-Every single scene with James and Jack. James…dude. Seeing what a jerk this guy was gave me a whole new appreciation for Charming. And Jack was just…ugh! I initially loved the idea of Jack being a woman. It followed in the footsteps of Snow and Mulan. Beautiful badass warrior chicks fighting for what they believe in. But the writers ended up turning her into nothing buy a tramp. I didn’t like that. And now we’re going to see more of her in the Wonderland flashbacks. *mumbles angrily to self*
-The flashbacks with Anton were very also boring. Anton’s a sweetie, but his backstory wasn’t particularly interesting.February 11, 2013 at 4:45 pm #172522the fairestParticipantBest:
-Mr. Gold smashing his fist into the bathroom stall. It took me a while to fully understand what just happened. The pure rage and passion in that scene was just remarkable. It was definitely one of Robert Carlyle’s finest acting moments of season 2.-I loved seeing Snow and Charming working together like a team again. Snow summed up my feelings on their scenes perfectly: “I missed our adventures.”
Worst:
-Really? David’s real name is David? I’m not surprised, but I’m still a little disappointed.-Prince James and Jack. Enough said.
-Regina and Cora are planning to kill Rumpel. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! 😮 😮 😮

That would be interesting but I’ve always thought of Charming as a family man (he was very attached to his mum) so I just get the feeling he simply can’t bring himself up to see Emma fully as his daughter, especially that he had absolutely no impact into her life and to how she was brought up, even though her values match closely with his.
I think he does see Emma as his daughter, but I tend to think that the whole “will they or won’t they go back to Storybrooke” debate is just something to create artificial tension to Snowing’s life since there will be no more love triangles now that they know who they are. I guess the writers didn’t think it was enough that they have to deal with Regina, Cora, Hook, Rumple, Greg Mendell, finding out who Henry’s father is, etc., and thought they had to come up with something that could create tension there just between Snow and Charming, but also tie into questions that viewers have pondered about whether or not the series will end with everyone staying in Storybrooke, everyone leaving, or something in between.
I don’t think it will be that big of a deal like they’re trying to make it. I think they’re just trying to give Snowing something to do, and that’s part of the reason this episode would rate low on my ranking for episodes this year. While it wasn’t completely awful except for the CGI in some scenes, it was definitely very high in filler.
For instance, while I felt bad for the Giant and how his family was killed off, it was pretty predictable on how humans, especially David, would come to his rescue, and by the end he’d have different opinions about them. Luckily, there was some humor and romance stuck in there during the Storybrooke scenes with Anton, so those scenes didn’t drag on as badly as they could have like the filler in “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree” or “Dreamy”. Plus, I think they used the right amount of flashbacks, so there weren’t too many scenes with characters that I’m not as interested in as the main characters.
I really loved the scenes with Gold, Emma, and Henry, and could watch an entire spin-off based on Grandpastiltskin and/or Gold going on some kind of adventures outside of Storybrooke. I don’t care whether he’d be fighting crime using his magic (which conveniently will work for him somehow on the spin-off) or a PBS/OUaT crossover with Antiques Roadshow with Gold as the new appraiser, but just give me more Robert Carlyle goodness. Maybe he’ll have more juicy material later on this season, but I really think he should submit this as one of his episodes for the Emmy award. Not that he’ll ever get in because OUaT has never been a critics’ favorite nor do the Emmys ever reward genres shows that often, but he was just perfect this episode.
* But while we’re at it…. actually Snow, yes, Emma should be telling Regina where Henry is. Given that as far as Storybrooke, Maine’s laws are concerned, Regina is his legal mother and Emma has no custody rights. The writers seem to be avoiding the obvious dilemma here – sooner or later the folks of Storybrooke have to click that their feudal customs are totally inconsistent with the rest of the Western world.
I don’t think that our law can be applied to Storybrooke because it’s not really part of the US at all, and any legal papers like Mr. Gold’s Bar certification, degrees like Archie has, etc., aren’t actually real. So I don’t think that the adoption of Henry was in any way legal. Even if it was legal, if Storybrooke were actually a real town in the United States, Regina would have lost her parental rights already since she at least in Storybrooke that Emma and Henry know of, she’s been guilty of murdering Graham, having Katherine kidnapped, although she technically wanted Katherine killed, and trying to frame Mary Margaret for Katherine’s murder, having Sydney take the fall for said kidnapping and framing, attempted murder of Emma which lead to Henry almost dying, so it’s a moot point.
Of course, the courts probably wouldn’t place Henry with Emma after removing him from Regina’s custody, but I’m willing to overlook that because at this point, Regina should be lucky that the Charmings allowed her any access at all to Henry because she wouldn’t have a legal leg to stand on after everything that the courts could find her guilty of.
I love Lana Parrilla, but I still feel of the two that Rumple is more layered. I think a lot of it might be the writers’ fault because Regina vacilitates so much between two extremes, that it’s hard for me most of the time to believe that she’ll truly ever turn over a new leaf. I’m not saying that Rumple will turn to the good side for sure either, but the Charmings specifically Snow have never pushed his buttons the way that they do with Regina. If she really wants to redeem herself in the future, she’s going to have to control her hair trigger temper in regards to them. Yes, they were fooled by her mother into thinking Regina killed Archie, but I guess she didn’t learn anything from when she was trying to be good for Henry’s sake since she tries to get Anton to kill David.

ARE we sure that the adoption was legal… I think we are going to find some shenanigans and the adoption was less then legal….. Let us not forget that at 10 years old going on 30 Henry will have his own ideas of who he wants to live with. KIDS get very definite ideas of who they love the most and who they want to be with…. at some point the LEGAL system takes that into a account.

I didn’t really like Belles sceen with Ruby, Ruby knows that Belle isn’t imagening the fireball and pretty much everybody who hears her is going to know that she’s not crazy but they’re still druging her!?. Poor girl seems to be right back where she started. Poor Belle.
I think this scene could set up a few future scenarios:
1. Belle bonding with Henry (especially if Rumple is his grandfather). Both Henry and Belle have been made to feel like they are crazy by someone who supposedly cared for them. Henry by Regina and Belle by Ruby.
2. It puts some tension into the Belle and Ruby friendship. When Belle remembers, she’s going to know that Ruby let her think she was crazy rather than telling the truth. Belle is much calmer in this episode than In the name of the brother, she knows she saw magic (Rumple even told her he used magic) but she wants someone to confirm that she did actually see what she saw which is what Greg did. Ruby as her “friend” should have done that. Not forgetting, Ruby also chained Belle up in the library. It is almost as if Ruby is making choices for Belle which we know Belle hates.
My favourite moments are all the Rumple moments, especially his quip about David hunting him down in his animal rescue van .
The rest of the episode was okay but I was more interested in what was happening with Rumple, Emma and Henry than what was happening in Storybrooke or Fairytale Land past.
My least favourite moment was probably Snow telling Regina that Emma didn’t have to run anything by her. Regina was Henry’s mother for the first 10 years of his life, she at least deserved to know what was going on. Fair enough they couldn’t find her to tell her but they could have at least said “We tried to call you to tell you, but with Cora in town, we decided it would be safer for Henry to be out of Storybrooke for a while” rather than Snow saying what she did.
All magic comes with a price!
