I was under the impression that they got the rights to Hook but they did not get the rights to Peter Pan right out of the gate in season 2. I believe they were separate and didn’t get Pan rights til the end of season 2. And Tamara and Greg didn’t stay around because they were reviewed by the fan base very poorly I thought. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Well they always said they could only have used hook, bc they got the Neverland rights, no way they would bring Hook and make him regular, if they didnt had the NVL rights, what would happen if they didnt got them? They even hinted to some fans( that love a certain ship) that if they had NVL rights on S1 they could have brought Hook on s1, so that for me is obvious, that one was connected to the other, of course i have one opinion about these words from them to certain fans that i can`t post here on general threads. Now the question is, which of their words is correct, bc everything that cast and crew said back on s2, has been somehow retcon after S3B, so no way of saying which of their words are right, especially bc we have megan also saying that they changed stories to neverland, like in the S2a, so to many versions again to know which one is true.
But again the fact that Colin broke is leg didnt helped, in s3, even colin and MRJ said that Hook and neal were supposed to have more interaction, but didnt had bc of what happened, so they had to change some episode scripts last minute and add other stories.
Tamara and Greg, even tho hated, didnt last more time, bc well sonequa was added as regular to TWD, so she had to be killed off, and i think Greg actor had other projects as well.

That was actually my impression as well. Because you can almost tell when they got the full green light for NVL S2—Ruby vanishes, Snow and Emma come back faster than they originally wanted, and Cora’s story ended pre-season-finale by quite a bit so that Tamara/Greg could come in more as part of the Home Office.
And yeah, GOAT (god, that’s an old acronym…) didn’t stay around because the critical and fan reaction was horrible.

Snow and Emma were supposed to be in the EF for longer; we had King George’s plot in SB that went nowhere fast; FrankenWolf (though that’s clearly over now); and they could flesh out the Home Office a bit more with some clever writing since Peter is now dead and the Lost Boys are…somewhere
Just thought of something else repeated from an earlier Season. We know that Snow, Charming, Hook and Zelena accidentally get sucked into a portal to some other realm, and have to return. This sounds a lot like Season 2A in itself, but condensed into two episodes.

I suddenly have this image of S6 ending (with a promised S7) with someone casting the Dark Curse and reverting everyone back to S1 status and someone (not Emma?) having to break the curse all over again (the twist is that this time, Regina is cursed as well and Rumple has his memories and once the curse breaks in 7A, the final battle happens with everyone vs Rumple)

I’ve got that very same feeling. Unfortunately I’m thinking Adam and Eddy’s end game to only be Snowing, Emma, Hook, and Henry living happily ever after. Then again I maybe wrong, they may just go ahead and kill Snowing off too. Everyone else maybe toast….
You guys can just ignore these bitter thoughts of a salty soul….I’ll just stock up our podcast liquor supply to help us through the rest of this now depressing season.

May 7, 2016 at 2:17 pm #322951Bar FarerParticipantIt seems to me like Regina is going to get the Rumple treatment and the reason might be because the writers are not happy that not everyone are on #TeamHook so they think that by making every fan favorite character unlikable, people would be okay with Hook.

May 7, 2016 at 4:28 pm #322958hjbauParticipantWhat happened was that people hated Emma and Snow being separated from the rest of the group, they hated it immediately. That is why Emma and Snow came back mid season. That had nothing to do with Hook or getting Neverland. Then Colin broke his leg and disappeared from the show for a few episodes, he was tied up somewhere in New York. Then they got the rights to Neverland really late in the season. They moved up Cora’s death which was supposed to be the finale, changed the anti magic cult to being Pan’s minions, and then added Hook into the fail safe plot that came out of nowhere and made no sense. They did not have the rights to Neverland early in the season. They did not intend or desire to bring Hook into the first season regardless of what lies they say about it now. They liked the Peter Pan story, but just as much as any of the other stories they did. When they pitched the show Hook wasn’t even a thought.
Also, why does any of that matter? Hook was not part of the plan, but he is Emma’s love interest now. People who like Hook get that, they don’t get that it was part of the plan, because it wasn’t.

S5 (both A and B) had some serious S3A and B overtones and now S6A is set up like S2B. So is 6B going to look like 2A–maybe this time Charming and Emma get trapped in the EF and have to battle someone in order to get back home? There’s an awful lot of plot that got forsaken in 2 once NVL happened.
Strangely i see more Season 2 and 3 combined (Which is said since i liked the Neverland stuff) but the writers feel like they wanted to do the King Arthur stuff but then changed their minds last minute and do the underworld stuff next. Because I at least liked the Underworld stuff more than the Camelot stuff …at least in terms of the Season alone….Some of the Season now in terms of a “Overlasting Arc” (And i use the term very loosely) will feel more like filler in the long run, only to retroactively be tied into one another (Like how Cora got her end in Season 5 ) so if there is a FinalBattle between everyone and Rumple…again…it will feel retroactive and not part of a cohesive narrative.
