    Your questions are pointless.

(How has no-one made a GIF of that yet? I need one).

I think people are overthinking thos mess of a show, probably more than the hacks who ran it. My question (which is pointless) is will Jafar play a major role in the upcoming season? Cause if not then why was this recast necessary? If he does then how does it fit with Hyde and Evil Queen? Are we headed into a new narrative mess?!

Oded seemed alright in the clip we got.

And that’s where our opinions differ. I did not like him one bit. He’s only second rate.

But Aladdin is the First Savior  according to AfterBuzzTV interview with A and E; and Fehr looks older than Naveen. Like Jafar is old, I think we knew that from his flashback but Naveen himself looks younger.

Having just watched the interview in question, that wasn’t what they said. They said that Emma wasn’t the first savior, and that Aladdin was only a savior. No specific mention of Aladdin being the first one.

    Wait…was this a Jafar reference?

They said that Emma wasn’t the first savior, and that Aladdin was only a savior. No specific mention of Aladdin being the first one.

Which is…confusing. So what exactly is a “Savior” now? Is it like, a generic title like the word hero, or is it a specific thing (the ultimate one to break the curse or whatever). I mean, technically Regina was referred to as the savior at one point during the Zelena arc if I recall so I guess this shouldn’t be surprising. But Aladdin seems official, like Emma, in this savior role. Like he is THE savior of something, not just a hero.

*grumble* Wonderland was amazing *grumble* Better than S3B of OUAT *grumble* or S4-5A *grumble* Probably better than 5B is I’m being honest *grumble*

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say that that’s why they haven’t released it on DVD or anything, they don’t want it showing up the main show if more people end up watching it. 😛

The re-cast bums me out, because Naveen isn’t just some random actor who can be easily cast aside and replaced. I’ve been re-watching some LOST recently so am all hopped up on being reminded of Naveen’s wonderfulness from when I first saw him in anything, and re-casting him feels a tad disrespectful. And it’s not like Jafar was a bit part or anything, he’s a very well established character, and this isn’t a soap opera where you can re-cast someone significant and have it be no big deal.

That being said, I dont hate Oded, and judging by this first clip he’s looking like he’ll be a pretty great Jafar. It’s just…WE ALREADY HAD A REALLY GREAT JAFAR. *sigh*

Wonderland not being out on DVD is a financial decision made by abc studios. It has nothing to do with A&E. However, I feel like they prefare to write it out of existence from the main show’s continuity and pretend like it never happened.

Personally, I just can’t except that the two shows are in the same universe anymore due to that recast. Ugh..this is like Daario Naharis all over again…

Because Rumple doesn’t actually say that line onscreen. You hear the line then it cuts to Rumple walking and talking.

Agreed. It surprises me how A&E have treated their former Lost co-workers especially Emilie. You would think in an industry where it’s not what you know but who you know that former Lostees would get decent screentime and story but poor Emilie just seems cast aside.

You’re right. I rewatched, my bad. But I’m still not sure how this goes with the timeline unless someone busted Jafar out of his lamp? And again…he’s a completely different person.

Which is…confusing. So what exactly is a “Savior” now? Is it like, a generic title like the word hero, or is it a specific thing (the ultimate one to break the curse or whatever). Yes this is also something I’m struggling with because Emma’s the savior due to two things: her parents ultimate TL and Rumple putting a drop of that TL on to the Dark Curse ensuring she’d be the one to break it. So how is Aladdin a Savior of anything?
