Here are some more tweets on the unmentionable spoiler. Take them as you will.
@jjrovers no they don't

@tatersites quote slightly out of context. We were talking about character growth sayin he wouldn't go anywhere til he does. Same for Neal

I think this could very likely be Adam playing damage control to not rule out any suspects.

To give some people the benefit of the doubt, it really could be honest misquotes. I hate to feel like I’m not trusting Adam, but honestly this is like the 3rd interview in a row where Adam has backtracked when called out about it on Twitter. He probably underestimates how much fans have read between the lines before, and there have been times where spoilers he’s backpedaled from before turned out to be true. For example, when spoiler pics of Rumple killing Pan got out, and Adam kept replying “it’s not what you think. The photos are out of context, etc.” Again, though, none of us know for a fact. Just something to consider.
February 9, 2014 at 6:43 pm #244023kfchimeraParticipantHopefully, Adam and Eddie aren’t that cruel. I want Regina to find true love again.
How is any character in the main cast dying not cruel? Last I checked, Regina is the woman who tried to make her own son think he was crazy even though she loved him, almost killed Emma, did kill Graham, killed villages, sent children to almost certain death in a cannibal’s house, cast a curse to destroy everyone’s happiness–and regretted none of it because SHE got someone to love. Not that she didn’t have others love her before, as we saw with her father, Snow and Sydney–people gave her love and she gave them misery. If it is “too cruel” for her to die then I fail to see how it is not too cruel for other characters who were not so far on the path of a sociopath.
I guess if you’re thinking of it just as a shipper/Evil Regal then I suppose it is cruel to tease OQ and then not deliver, but I don’t even know with A&E anymore. They’re trying to please everyone but they’re coming off like they are spinning too hard and so are sort of juggling with the truth so much that they’re turning into clowns. One way or another, they’ve promised and danced and spun a bit too much.“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

@_theanny @_applebombz believe ME. It was honest mistake. It was a phone interview and I'm sure Diane transcribed what she heard…

It could be damage control or it might not be. Whatever the truth is will soon be revealed. For people like A&E, who’ve got over a decade of experience in the business, to let out that big a spoiler would be a terrible blunder on their part. So either they’re just really bad at not spoiling or a “reporter” (who is really a fan) misquoted them. Adam says to believe him, not the person who did the interview. I’d be curious to read what @DianeJReed has to say in reply to Adam’s assertions that he was misquoted and that it was taken out of context.

February 9, 2014 at 7:08 pm #244027JosephineParticipantIt’s damage control. I said this somewhere else, but Adam and Eddy are writers of a tv show, they’re not keeping state secrets. It’s a tv show. I think we give them too much credit with their levels of sneakiness.
The majority of us have our opinion of who it is. Every leak, tweet, picture, set report just riles everyone up and either has people saying it supports their choice of who is gone or trying to find some way to rationalize why X isn’t on set anymore.
It would be interesting to see the reporter’s take. Will she stand by her writing or say it could have been a mistake? We don’t know yet.
I’m really interested on how this break and the Spoiler of Doom will affect ratings. Those not in online fandom have no idea what’s going on with the death, but the overall morale of fandom is down. The show comes back in four weeks and I’ve yet to see any commercials promoting it. They should be starting that already! Will the casual fans come back? We’ll just have to wait and see how the ratings go.

Well @DianeJReed did not refute any of Adam’s claims. So, maybe it really was just a misquote on her part.

I was curious about this as well. So I went and checked her Twitter. She retweeted all of Adam’s clarification questions after the interview came out and then thanks Adam for taking the time to speak to her.
Take that however you want.
