Henry wouldn’t be the first or last kid character that went from a central position to being permanently off-screened for various reasons, like growing up.
I reckon part of the reason they found a way to do a full year time jump is because they do want to keep Henry, and had to get the character caught up in age to Jared. As it is now, as long as they’re not stuck in any timeless lands, and as long as the present day t-word isn’t overly condensed (like how S2 only played out over a couple of months), Jared’s continued aging shouldn’t be a problem.

Please do not add a third guy. I think even the casual passive viewer who doesn’t know about CaptainSwanFire in the fandom would be annoyed by a third guy.

When last I spoke to the Once creators, they said that everything and anything they wanted out there on Gorham’s role was out there – meaning, basically nothing. But they did read the knee-jerk theory I posted… and, well, pretty much dismissed it. “Your speculation was very interesting, and we did enjoy it,” Eddy Kitsis allowed. “And we reserve the right to use it at a later date!”

January 3, 2014 at 5:22 pm #235048HappyEndingsSpectatorThis was the knee-jerk theory:
It’s late on a Friday, the end of the work week, and I’m feeling a bit punchy, so I’m going to go with my knee-jerk reaction and just lob out this theory: Gorham is playing a grown-up Henry. Maybe in a vision. Or a flash-forward. Or, amid unconfirmed rumblings that some nasty new curse is uncorked going into the show’s winter break, maybe Peter Pan unleashes some sort of utterly ironic rapid-aging spell.

First…that’s me!!! I sent that in like two weeks ago!
And I don’t think he’s grown up Henry. I think that’s a stretch.

That’s awesome. Well, I’m glad we have one mystery solved on this hiatus!
And Congrats 🙂
January 3, 2014 at 10:07 pm #235062PheeParticipantAfter seeing where 311 ended, I’d officially given up on the aged-Henry theory. Good to have it more or less confirmed though, so I’m glad they picked your question, RG.
January 3, 2014 at 11:50 pm #235072HappyEndingsSpectatorI think this is the guy who wrote the book, or is the person who trained Emma on that bails bond stuff.
January 4, 2014 at 12:21 pm #235161HappyEndingsSpectatorI found this interesting comment:
I haven’t seen this posted anywhere, unless I missed it (and if I did I’m sorry), so I’ll just toss this idea out – perhaps Gorham’s character last name is Gale? It would tie into the Wicked Witch involvement.
And this time Emma isn’t the Savior, she’s the catalyst to bring the Savior to Storybrooke – the descendant of the last person to battle/defeat the Wicked Witch, Dorothy Gale.
Also Emma and Henry = Aunt Em and Henry on the original Oz story.
As Wat stated this new guy could be Uncle Henry from OZ in chat good idea.
January 4, 2014 at 12:55 pm #235167RumplesGirlKeymasterVery good idea.
And if they are calling him Henry on set he could be uncle Henry from Oz, without it being Adult Grown up Henry.
