I don’t remember the beanstalk conversation. I don’t know how I missed that, but I did.
Can’t wait to see pics of MR-J on set.

I think that as long as they’ve been sent somewhere relevant, and that what they’re doing there, and their absence from SB, are things that will have an impact on the overall story, a bit of time travel is fine by me, and I don’t think a few eps is overkill. If they were just doing it to try and be clever, but it served no real purpose, that would be annoying, but I doubt that’s what they’re doing, (if there’s actually time travel involved at all).

I keep coming back to the idea that MRJ will be Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. It’s very odd that the casting call for Jack has gone out, but we’ve yet to hear mention of an actor being cast for his role. It was just shortly after the casting call for Jack went out that we heard mention of MRJ joining OUaT, but the only description given to him was a “mysterious new character.” It seems like MRJ and Jack could easily be one-in-the-same.
I suspect that Jack will be Bae, so whoever got the gig from that casting call, be it MRJ or someone else, it’d make sense that they’d be keeping his identity under wraps.
I saw this theory on tumblr that makes a further compelling point. Remember that giant hole in the ground on the SB film set? It could be where a magic beanstalk sprouted up when magic came to town. The fairy tale has been confirmed to appear in Season 2 so it would make sense for the beanstalk to feature, especially with magic having returned to Storybrooke. The stalk itself would be CGI, but they physically made this hole.
The ground has been pushed UP not DOWN, so that means something has come out of the ground, therefore it could be the beanstalk growing.
It could definitely be where a beanstalk grew up through the road. It could also have been a blast of energy from below, possibly opening up a vortex. These were the scenes where Emma and Snow were hanging out in the street weren’t they? So before they vanished to wherever? Weren’t there some other places where the road was ripped up too? Maybe other places where it had tried to come through, before it found the sweet spot to blast the big hole. I’m imagining a bunch of little blasts here and there, then suddenly this big blast goes up, throwing debris everywhere, knocking down power poles, making holes in signs, and the hole opens up right next to where Emma’s standing, and she gets knocked over and starts to get sucked in, and Snow grabs her hand, and in contrast to Bae and Rumple, Snow refuses to let go of her kid’s hand, and they both end up getting sucked in.
That being said, I’m probably wrong and it’ll totally be the beanstalk. 😛

I like the idea though that Emma could come back and Henry’s father would just be there and she would be like what are you doing here.
With new pictures showing Rumple and Charming together, I’m wondering if unattended Henry is going to come across daddy…before anyone realizes. If they want to build a father/son relationship at some point (this season or in a couple) it might be nice if they met and had some chemistry prior to the drama unfolding.
Also, Rumple seem a bit preoccupied: maybe enough that he wouldn’t notice a new guy, with brown hair and brown eyes, lurking around town. Yet, anyway.
Seems like anyone who could identify Henry’s dad (and/or Baelfire) are being kept busy. Probably just to add suspense.
If he’s neither and really just another red herring…

If Bae is Henry’s dad, it has become an even likely scenario just based on the pics of the last few days that he’s going to come to town first as Henry’s dad rather than as Bae because all the main actors connected to that potential storyline, except Henry, seem to be preoccupied with something else or missing, even Regina seems to have somewhat disappeared since there hasn’t been much mention of Lana or from Lana since episode 2. Maybe she’s behind the kidnapping of Belle and keeping her involved with the Captain Hook story will allow more time for father and son to bond?

Yes, I think Rumple is so busy with Belle that he’s not going to notice a new guy in town especially if Bae/Henry’s dad stays mostly out of the way for now. It took him awhile to suspect August was Bae, or at least the show made it seem like he did, and now he’s got even more problems to worry about, so it could happen.
I just worry that it’s going to be another red herring too because it seems too obvious that the mysterious character is going to be Bae and/or Henry’s dad, but they are keeping MR-J on for the whole season, so I think he must be someone fairly important for them to do that.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found any spoilers on his Twitter lately about “OUaT”. The only thing is that he has a tattoo of the Hawaiian word for family over his heart, and possibly they could tie his real life tattoo into the show with whatever the secret is behind Emma’s tattoo. That’s all I got though.

He just tweeted a few days ago about some of his ohana being in a new movie and to check out the link for it. Then, someone started a conversation with him that ohana means family, and he said he knew that because he has it tattooed over his heart.

When he was first cast, I went to his IMDb page, and of the things I learned was that he’s had the tattoo for awhile, so it’s nothing he may have got for the show. However, I think if they want to incorporate into the show somehow, it wouldn’t be the worst idea they’ve ever if he does turn out to be Bae since it does mean family, and it’s nice bonus Disney shout-out as well because of the Lilo and Stitch connection to the word. Plus, if he’s Bae and Henry’s dad, they could have some kind of back story about that tattoo being connected to the tattoo that Emma has on her wrist. (Although, hopefully it wouldn’t be like Lost’s “Stranger in a Strange Land” episode which I know a lot Lost fans hated.)
Nothing new on the spoiler front except I read that the title of the second episode is going to be “Absent”, but I don’t have any kind of reliable source just someone at Tumblr who posted that. It seems like an apt title because Emma and Mary Margaret are missing in Storybrooke, and perhaps it could also refer to Cora’s absence of motherly love towards Regina since the second episode is Regina-centric.
I also fell for an alleged spoiler about a new promo that ran last night during 20/20. Unfortunately since I had just woken up, I actually believed that part of the promo had Rumple showing Emma a picture of Bae, and her gasping. It wasn’t until I read other people’s comments toward the alleged promo that I realized that it was just a troll. 😥
August 25, 2012 at 1:59 pm #153315hjbauParticipantI’ve never understood trolls. Why spend time making up a description and putting it online? Seems like a waste of one’s time. Who knows though. I guess boredom. Thanks for the response.
Absent is an interesting title. For some reason the titles seem so different then the first season titles. I am not sure if i like them. All these one word titles. Though i guess there was some of that in the first season too. It is just if the three titles we have heard. Broken, Absent, and The Crocodile are true then there just eh for me. Nothing like The Thing You Love Most. Or The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Or True North. Or Red Handed. Or Hat Trick. Or An Apple Red as Blood. Or A Land Without Magic. Those were all interesting titles and about what was happening in the episode.
August 30, 2012 at 2:18 am #153431lilredParticipantApparently, they’ve started to film the fifth episode and still – NO SIGHTINGS OF MICHAEL RAYMOND-JAMES! Is he just doing green screen work? Voice acting? I just don’t see how he could be walking around Storybooke and not one fan has a pic of him in costume!
…….unless he’s filming at another location, why everyone is busy watching the Charming, Rumple, Belle, Smee? goings on in town…….
August 30, 2012 at 2:44 am #153432antbeeParticipantOkay, first I thought he was Jack, then with Captain Hook and that fort picture thing, I was trying to accept that he could be Peter, but now with news about Jorge Garcia being cast as the Giant, I’m back to him being Jack.
Also, on the stalking his Tweeter front, I got this somewhat interesting news today,
Can only say it will be early. Cheers RT @emiliehballo: Can you tell us which episode of OUAT will have your first appearance? 😀
My guess would be episode 3 based on when he was cast, but I guess they could insert him into episode 1 or 2 if they wanted to do so.
Also, today he’s doing looping for a movie that he recently made,
Behind the scenes: Looping today for #RoadToPaloma
, and I’m guessing that the looping is taking place somewhere besides Canada, probably California. So he’s not filming episode five yet, but the big football game with his favorite college team University of Michigan is this Saturday, and from his previous tweets, he won’t be able to attend that game due to working on OUaT, so he must be flying back fairly soon to be in episode 5.
Finally, I’ve read rumors but nothing with a reliable source unfortunately that episode 5 could be the Jack episode. I think it makes sense given the news today of Jorge Garcia being cast as the Giant. Also, if this season is following closely to the pattern of last season at least character-centric wise, then it has to be one of the supporting characters like Jiminy or Red, but not a character like Cinderella, who won’t appear much. Based on his tweets, MR-J’s character would fit be more of a Red or Jiminy type of character at least this season, so that fits. Moreover, “That Still Small Voice” featured a lot of Henry, and if Jack is also Henry’s dad, it makes sense that episode 5 this season could be another big episode for Henry.
Of course, this is all just speculation, but right now I’m back on the Jack train.
August 30, 2012 at 8:29 am #153438PheeParticipantMight be time to start stalking Jorge’s tweets too, to see when he’s off to Vancouver. 😉 If they’ve already started ep 5, you’d think he’d be in town already if he’s in that ep. No hint of that yet, he just sent this 9 hours ago: “@AdamHorowitzLA Yay! At last we can (sorta) talk about it! Looking forward to this.” Though if MRJ is Jack(Bae?), the sneaky buggers might try to keep it under wraps if he and Jorge are both in town filming at the same time.
I’m starting to get fixated on the idea that Jack = Bae. If ep 4 is a Rumple ep, (I know we meet Hook in that ep, but given all the shots of Robert and Emilie, I think it’s safe to say it can be classified as Rumple centric as opposed to Hook centric), would they make ep 5 a Bae ep, which would likely focus on Rumple again too? In some ways I guess it’d make sense if they want to get that story rolling along in the first half of the season, but I think they’d spread it out a bit more than that and tell other people’s stories in between, so they can prolong that main thread of that ongoing Rumple/Bae storyline for much of the season.
Of course, Jack may not end up being Bae, in which case, that argument is irrelevant.
My ideas about MRJ being Peter Pan/Henry’s father involve that he’s originally introduced in the real world, somewhere outside SB, and then is drawn to the town, possibly by the presence of Hook. If MRJ hasn’t been around Vancouver since his original shooting stint a couple of eps ago, but is likely heading back for ep 5, that would fit in with what I’ve been theorising.
