I don’t have a guess yet as to who he might be in relation to the other characters, but I think he’s the one who wrote the book, and that what’s happening in the scene in which we see him sewing the pages of the book is that he’s restoring the pages that Emma threw into the fire.

Then again, I think the way he treats Emma wouldn’t make much sense then. 😉 And I so hope they’re not putting time travelling into the show …
March 4, 2012 at 11:13 pm #138119hjbauParticipantI think the way they reacted to that means that is not the answer. I don’t think August is future Henry. They said that some people do have the right idea though.

A fan figured out a way that August could be Baelfire regardless of how many centuries have passed after “Desperate Souls”.
The writers of Once Upon a Time have been known to use stories that aren’t your typical fairytales, but still have Disney films made about them like Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, etc. What about Peter Pan?
What if Baelfire managed to end up in place where Rumpelstiltskin may have not been able to retrieve him for some reason? A place like Neverland. Baelfire could have been one of Peter Pan’s lost boys. It would certainly put a new spin on the phrase, “I lost him.”
We all know that people who find themselves in Neverland never age. It is possible that Bae could have somehow escaped the curse and found himself in the real world as a 14 year old boy.
What do you think?
March 7, 2012 at 10:38 pm #138354rumplegoldfankristiParticipantobisgirl – you read the same thing I did. So far that’s the theory I like the most. And if you read the same theory I did it also explains why Gold doesn’t like Nuns. The theory I read said that they thought Bae made a wish to not be around his dad as the Dark One anymore – the Blue Fairy heard his wish and put him in the care of Tinkerbelle (another fairy) who took him to Neverland where he became a Lost Boy and never grew up. Rumple found out that the Blue Fairy took Bae and that Tinkerbelle was keeping him safe but they wouldn’t tell him where. This also explains Rumple saying only that he “lost his son, there’s nothing else to tell, really.”
March 7, 2012 at 11:10 pm #138357hjbauParticipantI think it is possible that when people cross between worlds like that they could come out at a different times so i think it is still possible that August is Baelfire.

I just read a spoiler that said episode 1×20 will be titled “The Stranger.” This is the same episode that had behind the scenes stills of Pinocchio. So, it looks like we finally have an answer to who the stranger is. I was hoping that he'd turn out to be Peter Pan. Well, at least we know he's not Rumepl's son. Because that's the Mad Hatter. 😆
I’ll try to locate the exact article where I read it.March 9, 2012 at 1:15 am #138423killianhookfanParticipantOh great!! That goes back to my original theory that I gave up on. All that additional theorizing for nothing!!!
By the way – it’s still me, rumplegoldfankristi, but since everyone was making fun of how long my screen name is on the podcast last night 🙄 I shortened it. At least now I match my screen name everywhere else.

Aww! I loved your old username! It was funny and original. 😀
Yeah, we had so many different theories about who the Stranger could possibly be:
A Grimm Brother
Wizard of Oz
Rumpel’s son
Regina’s son
Peter Pan
Emma’s Prince…but nope. He’s just a wooden puppet. Oh well, I’m still excited to see his first character centric episode.
