I still think there is no chance that August is Henry’s father. I don’t think that would make sense unless he has magically changed how he looks. Emma would not have needed to be told by Regina to look into him if she knew him if she knew who he was.

Emma is probably the most distrusting person in Storybrooke. Yet she trusted him after one meeting. Why if not? I can probably come up with a good idea why Emma doesn’t recognise August as… someone else in a couple of days.

I still like the he is Bae theory the most if he has to be a character that we have already met. Though i would like the most that he was just someone new.
April 12, 2012 at 11:04 pm #141943killianhookfanParticipantI can’t decide if I will be relieved, excited, or annoyed if he is someone completely new or unexpected. After coming up with about six different theories I feel like I have so much time and energy invested in doing research on this character that I would like to be rewarded with having at least one of those theories be correct. But at the same time I feel like we’ve all kind of been beating multiple dead horses, so to speak, with the same theories over and over again so I would like to be taken by surprise with some twist that I never even saw coming – and OUaT has been pretty good at that so far!
April 13, 2012 at 12:24 am #141953hjbauParticipantThat is sort of how i feel. I would like to just be surprised. I think i like the related to the wizard of Oz theory second behind him being Bae. Though i do like him being someone’s descendent the best.
April 13, 2012 at 1:37 am #141963charmingParticipantI have heard most all of the theories and there are two that fit and in this storyline it is plausible. He is both the Wizard of Oz and Pinnochio. The evidence pointing to Pinnochio seems to fit but yet other evidence pointing towards the Wizard works too. Bae, I cannot see. We know so much about August by what has has said and the clothes he wears and other suggestions. We do not know much about Bae’s personality even though he was in entire episode. Future Henry not sure they have confirmed time travel but do we really want to start a time travel storyline? With the fairy tale storyline almost anything is possible we all like this show the time travel could potentially prematurely have this show just the shark before we see any sea-based fairy tales. I think Regina will remember a former love interest. August being a Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson makes for a thin case but in my opinion both remotely possible. His Storybrooke story can also have him be the boy who found Emma which does explain why he knows so much back information and believes as Henry does. He also has a lot of knowledge of the book which suggests somehow he was responsible for the book. Whether that be writing it, intorducing Storybrooke to the book or even as the protector of the book. (The Book Guardian if you would) Every relic or artifact in these types of stories has one to ensure its safety and to keep it out of enemy hands.
April 14, 2012 at 1:11 am #142093clariclaudia13ParticipantSo my theory for who the stranger might be actually combines some of the fans ideas. My theory is that August is the seven year old who found Emma on the side of the road, the author of Henry’s story book AND Pinocchio. Geppetto was the one who built the wardrobe that sent Emma to the real world and saved her. Now the description for a future episode tells how Gepetto is hired to build the wardrobe for Emma but does so in exchange for something that will also save his son, Pinocchio as well. Geppetto could have arranged for Pinocchio to go along with emma in the wardrobe. So Pinocchio took Emma when they both appeared on that road (explaining that he’s the seven year old boy that found her) and since he maybe remembers his fairytale past since he wasn’t affected by the curse (explaining why he can leave Storybrooke) he may have written it all down in a book so as not to forget it or to someday help Emma break the curse. and he also said that he has been to Storybrooke before, which may explain why Mary Margaret had the story book before she gave it to Henry.
April 15, 2012 at 1:08 am #142298charmingParticipantHas anybody thought that if August is Pinnochio…..and going along with that, in FTL we see him as a litlle boy. Right? That is it possible and this is just a wild guess that somehow someway he got changed from a boy to a wooden doll to either fill in a space in the wardrobe and to keep Emma safe and watch over her. When they both reached to the other side…Emma’s magic somehow changed him back into a real boy. Hence, seven year old boy finds baby girl on the side of the rode. They were certainly not just going to send an infant to some strange place by herself without a contingency plan. I’ve watched enough 24 for to know that any plan is as good as their back up plans. That is why Regina thought of him as familiar. Have you ever met an older family member when you were about six or seven and have not seen them in lets say 28 years? and they say to you hey you look familiar. Forget family member just anybody? Does this sound plausible?
Maybe Pinnochio was the back up plan just in case or even like I have said before, the guardian, maybe not the author because that is too much. Hence the renegade look… badass leather, motorcycle and mysterious look. I think the book has not just one author but many. The book is maybe a collection of stories. There was probably one person that is considered the author because he put it into one volume. I think he is also the keeper of the book. To break the curse every single page needs to be in the book but hidden from Regina and Gold. August just recovered the book and restored those torn pages that were burned. Those pages could be the source of Emma’s magic. Th book is more than just a book of stories. It is also a battle manual like SunTzu’s Art of War. Once Upon a Time, The Art of Fairy Tale Warfare, written and compiled by the Fairy Tale Gang. Snow, Charming and the Gang. Yeah!! or not..just a thought…I hope someone likes my theory.
