we’ve seen scarecrow suggested but why nto tinman? tin man would be the love em and leave em type in my universe and thus would be another contributing factor to our cora catchphrase “love is weakness” its out there and those of you saying leopold are probably correct due to stupid spoilers but I can still have my theory.

I think it was a random dude. Zelena and Regina get their magical ability from their mother. Cora might have learned to hone her natural talent from Rumplestiltskin but even he recognised in her that she was naturally talented.

Dad was just a stable boy roll in the hay. Irrelevant to the plot. Girl’s gotta have fun!

Rumple is NOT the father, there is plenty of evidence to support that in show.

@swanning-off, I like that theory that Zelena’s dad was a stable boy. It would explain why Cora killed Daniel instead of just taking his heart and sending him on his way.

But Cora gave up Zelena because she was going to prevent Cora from becoming royal. If the baby was Leo’s wouldn’t that have helped Cora’s cause?

They didn’t exactly word it as though Zelena was preventing it IMO. “You couldn’t give her the one thing she truly wanted, the ability to become royalty.” That could translate to Cora having gotten pregnant by a royal, expecting to end up as part of the family, but the baby daddy wasn’t interested in marrying her in the end.

I wonder where her magic came from if it’s just the Scarecrow, or a random guy. Magic can be either learned, or given though spells or curses, as far as I’ve seen. Zelena was magically powerful since she was a toddler. That’s not a thing to happen without explanation. So, I don’t think the dad is Rumpel, but I do think that her dad is an incredibly magical being.

I think it will be PRINCE LEOPOLD… he meets Cora  >> bedded her and abandoned her … she gives birth to Zelina out of wedlock therefore abandons the baby…….  That is why Cora KILLED EVA and had Regina marry Leopold… to get even for the abandonment and for her to become QUEEN.

ZELINA may or not know that Leopold is her father … but if she does know it might answer why she is after SNOW’S baby…. revenge against the father who abandoned her mother.

My biggest issue with DaddyLeo is that it’s forcibly putting Snow and Regina closer on the family tree instead of letting them heal their divide themselves. I’d love to see Snow and Regina become close on their own, not because they suddenly have a common relative
