My bad, fairy dust, the one about the Grateful Dead song “Ramble on Rose” w/ all the lines from the song was in TheGoldenKeys Dr Whale/Frankenstein topic…..I thought it was in the PP topic TheGoldenKey posted….goes to show, that the song references both TheGoldenKey’s PP theory and TheGoldenKey and my Dr Frankenstein theory. And, any Grateful Dead questions you might have, just ask…been a true Dead Head for over 30 years. You should put TheGoldenKey’s PP theory on here, too, everything in one place….
I’ve done a regular search and an advanced search and I can’t find any theGoldenKeys posts that mention the Grateful Dead, Dead Heads or Ramble on Rose.
I think I will google the lyrics cuz that sounds like a good clue. π

Ok….now I see….the Grateful Dead Ramble on a Rose was in the topic thread…not written by theGoldenKey. I’m looking forward to exploring the lyrics. I guess I’m getting tired π
October 21, 2012 at 2:10 am #157385fairy dustParticipantI wish I had time to go into the three songs that Gypsy mentioned and tie them in with the Mystery Man/Neal Cassady…believed to be Baelfire. I’m going out of town for a week and will be out of range for my computer…yes…I’m going to the far corner where the signal doesn’t reach.
I wanted to mention that I still like to refer to Neal Cassady as the Mystery Man as his name is an assumed name and not a his own. He is a mystery..and I believe that in many ways, even when we find out who he is that he will remain a mystery until we hear, see, experience his whole story.
If the Mystery Man isn’t Baelfire I will be surprised…everything points to Baelfire…especially the lyrics of the songs on John Guliak’s album 7 stories and 13 songs. I wish I had time to write all the lyrics down…but they point the lostness…and relocation. I think he relocated a lot and we are going to meet many “Baelfires”… This is going to be one FUN story to watch.
One more thought: When I think of the term baelfire….bonfire….I think of campfire. And when I think of campfire and stories, my mind can’t help but go to Ray Bradbury and his illustrated man. First came the rose tattoo on his palm…and then came the lion…the lions of the veldt. I’ll never forget when, as a young teen I first read The Veldt. When I finished I sat there…still…thinking…thinking…almost feeling the heat…and hearing the roar. Then…the last line… “A cup of tea?” asked Wendy in the silence.” I remember how I felt when I got to those words…haunting, uncomfortable…just like I felt when Snow told Red that Peter wasn’t the wolf. And that is amazing…and that is why I watch.
Just as the vagrant man, who, sitting by the fire tells the story of each of his 18 tattoos is the frame for Bradbury’s Illustrated Man…I feel that Baelfire will be the frame for Once Upon a Time. I’m gonna pull up a chair and warm my hands by that fire.

The theories will still be here when you get back…me and TheGoldenKey will make sure of it…go…have fun π

October 23, 2012 at 5:14 pm #157844kalliopekiseesParticipantI have always been part of the Baefire is Peter Pan Camp. I always thought that August was also a member of the lost boys. After all, when he leaves Emma he goes off with a group of βlost childrenβ.
I followed the Dead for years and am loving the theories. When I heard the name Neal Cassady it was the first thing I thought of. I forgot about the Neverland Lyrics though⦠Great Catch!
I still feel he also has ties to Wonderland as well. Somehow in some way. Maybe I am just being hopeful. Perhaps, as is being said we will find he has multiple personalities. Peter Pan and Alice are my top two favorites. So excited to see them being played out.
As always, way to go to everyone involved with these theories. Impressive work people!!!! I tip my hat to you.
October 23, 2012 at 9:21 pm #157865thetricksterParticipantSuch a solid theory!! π― I have to agree with you even while I’ve always thought Bae was “only” Peter Pan… π
But i wonder, if you are right and he has been traveling for one world to another, without growing out until he arrived our world without magic for about… 300 years? (if his father is more or less that age, Bae should be… 270? )… then maybe all those changes have affeted him in some way? If he turns to be the misterious man, he looks quite uneasy and confused in our world.
How could all those travels affected him? in which way? Has he changed his mind regarding magic? maybe he has forgot about something? is he running away from something/somewho?
Just see what being traped in Wonderland made to Jefferson… what could being a “worlds-traveler” make to Bae’s mind? Now, I’ve more questions than before, but I’m still impressed by your theory π
October 23, 2012 at 9:48 pm #157867TheGoldenKeyParticipantI’ve always said that Bae went to other world’s before coming here and am convinced he’s Peter Pan. Would be nice to see him as other characters as well. I like the Norse mythology. Thor was always a favourite so I wonder if we’ll see him swinging a hammer at some point. Maybe we’ll even see Loki, The Trickster God. π

October 23, 2012 at 10:38 pm #157869thetricksterParticipantdo you think they are going to add mythological characters appart from those from the Fairy tales? mhm… it could be, but i don’t think Bae fit in any role…
about Norse mythology, well, there are certain Swan Maidens here and there, if you know what I mean… π but there is already a trickster in the show πOctober 27, 2012 at 4:55 am #158150lisbeth leaParticipantI also thought this new mystery guy was Baelfire, but as The White Rabbit. Peter Pan totally slipped my mind. I don’t even know how I missed the possible connection considering the Killan Jones/Captain Hook interlacing. I love how into depth you guys have ventured into this.
I love trying to figure out who is who, like Dr. Whale for the matter, quite suspicious isn’t he?
I can’t wait until the new episode!!!
