overall, I really loved this episode. The songs were gloriously campy especially snowings song and it worked well.
Hooks song was perfect and I love hearing Colin sing.
I was surprised by how much I loved wicked always wins, it may be my favorite song from the episode.
All of the Emma and Henry scenes gave me the feels.
Seriously I can’t wait to rewatch!

I wasn’t a big fan of the costumes this episode and normally I love the costumes!
I’m still confused on how Regina knew the potion that randomly turned up in vault would reverse the singing, but eh we’ve had dodgier explanations of magic in the past I guess.
seriously how long were they going to let Emma’s heart stay on the floor, surely I wasn’t the only one thinking PICK IT UP already!!!

Where was Belle this episode? How does she feel about Rumple siding with his mom, the same woman who tortured their son for years?!?!? And how on earth could Rumple side with her?!? Seriously, I was hoping and am still hoping it’s a long con. I know Rumple will choose power over love but this isn’t that situation, right? Also, he may no longer hate his mom for giving him up, but surely he still doesn’t trust her because of how she treated Gideon? Am I the only person bothered by this? Hello? Anyone? Bueller… bueller? Nope okay…
EDIT: I should clarify, I’m confused because Rumple says he did it to protect his family, but wouldn’t this drive a wedge between him and Belle/Gideon since the black fairy tormented Gideon?

YES! Love the Princess bride reference very appropriate considering she married a pirate 😉
I like that Archie was officiating it. I like the Dwarves Congo line. I liked that Henry was the best man. Did I like the vows? Hook’s were okay, I would have liked him to say that her heart was his ship or something like that instead of just referencing a ship but they were decent.
I did really like the vows. When Hook references the Jolly Roger I ALMOST thought he has was going to say the ring was made from a piece of it. I still think they should have had a “Just Married” sign on the ship lol. I was not a HUGE fan of the costumes, but overall the whole scene was beautifully done. The dancing dwarves were an awesome bonus too!

These sneak peaks are the best! I’m loving all of it and can not wait until Sunday! I watched the Charmings’ song before I came to work and it put me in the best of spirits. It’s adorably twee and I love it.

For some reason I’m just imagining Hook singing “A pirate’s life” from Disney’s Peter Pan in the shower.
This made me giggle. 🙂
Also, I agree I like the domestic moments too, and really enjoyed the moment between Snow and Emma over the wedding planning book. I also enjoyed hearing about Hook’s ideas for the wedding, of course he’d want to get married on the Jolly Roger! While I realize the JR might not be the ideal venue, maybe they can incorporate it into the wedding somehow since it is a big part of Hook’s life. I’m now imaging them pinning an enormous “Just Married” sign on the ship and having Emma and Hook sail off after the reception. But…. considering the final battle and all I’m sure that’s not going to happen.

Anyway, has this show shown other characters being “intimate”. I know there was Regina/Graham getting out of bed… and Snowing under the covers naked….and RumBelle was seen in bed once….hmm. Show is pretty chaste for an 8’o clock show. Needs to take some lessons from True Blood
Well don’t forget about the Robin and Regina scene in her vault from season 3…it was pretty clear what they were up to 😉
Snowing of course had the infamous taco scene. XD
And now Captain Swan has a pancake scene, which is pretty tame in comparison. Although many CSers have interpreted the pancakes to be a “post-intimate snack” which of course then started to lead to more intimacy…
But I agree with Nevermore, let’s not take cues from True Blood lol. I watched that show until the end and sheesh did that show get cheesy!

le sigh… I wasn’t trying to pick a fight with anyone or even ruffle any feathers. I certainly wasn’t intending to insult those who run and mod this forum by expressing my critique. I hope my criticism isn’t interpreted as such, but if it is I apologize, that was not the intent. I was just trying to be honest about how I felt. I thought the point of this forum is to share ideas and have fun engaging in discussion around a show we all watch. This was actually the first OUAT forum I joined and for a time it was the only one used. At some point though it stopped being fun, I stopped coming here and then came back as a lurker. When I saw that thedrakonedearie was attempting revitalize the CS thread I reluctantly came out of lurking and yes I added my two scents/shared my story on why I decided to stop posting. In my post all I was suggesting was that we try to be a bit more empathetic – there were times when I felt it was implied that I was a bad person for liking hook and I was endorsing toxic behaviors by being a CS fan. And that didn’t rub well with me. Another CSer suggested I join Tumblr, which I did and I found a more supportive CS community on there. I’m not suggesting we silence each other, I was just explaining where I was coming from and I wanted show some support to thedarkonedearie who had attempted to bring back this thread.

I mean you can say everyone is welcome, but it doesn’t always feel that way. Obviously criticism of hook shouldn’t be avoided at all costs on the forum and I don’t think that’s even what most CSers were asking for. At some point fair criticism of Hook and now criticism of Emma got to be pretty negative and it felt to me a bit overwhelmingly so. At that point it stopped being fun to check in on this forum frequently. Also regarding the question about why wouldn’t you want to be labeled as anti-hook, obviously it is fine if as a poster you are, but please try to empathize and understand that’s not how everyone interprets hook’s character or the CS relationship. In my professional life I actually work in gender issues and addressing social norms around toxic masculinities. I manage research projects on combatting gender based violence, especially intimate partner violence. These are issues I care deeply about and I personally don’t interpret the CS relationship as a toxic relationship. Of course there are things you can find to be problematic, every ship on the show is problematic. I am not saying that the way you interpret their relationship is wrong, it’s just different from how I interpret it. We have had different lived experiences and OUAT is a TV show where we only see snipbits of these characters lives and there is lots of room for interpretation. Once upon a time is an escape for me, it’s a fun lighted hearted show with occasional terrible writing, but I got swept up in it and one of the main reasons I continue watching is because of the CS relationship. I enjoy posting about the show on forums, but on this forum at some point it felt the negativity around hook and emma wasn’t just about them but started to feel personal. I guess I would just like to see more empathy on the forum and more acknowledgment that we interpret the characters and ships differently and that doesn’t make us bad people. We are all OUAT fans afterall 🙂

For what it’s worth, I will chime in add my two cents. I agree that the hook hate became a bit much and caused some of the pro-CS fans to stop posting. That’s honestly the reason why I stopped. However, I would be willing to give it another go and join you thedarkonedearie in trying to bring this thread back to life.
I used to post on various threads on this forum actually, not frequently, but occasionally. I eventually stopped because it stopped being fun. The negativity was a bit much even in the episode recap threads, so I started a tumblr account to post my CS thoughts and took a break from the oncepodcast forum. Eventually I came back as a lurker because I do enjoy the podcast and really like the way the spoiler threads are organized on here.

As I said in another thread, I don’t think Regina will become the Evil Queen again by choice. I highly suspect that she is somehow given Jekyll’s potion, and turns into the Evil Queen against her own will. I think the writers miss writing certain characters when they were evil, and can’t help but figure out ways to do so again in the present. We’ve seen them do so with Rumple countless times, and we even saw them do it with Hook at the end of 5A. However, they want to have their cake and eat it too. By using Jekyll’s potion, they aren’t necessarily going against Regina’s character development and long term redemption. This would be like the Spell of Shattered Sight again, but probably more long term. She could also transform back and forth, which could add a new dimension to this.This is my prediction as well. I think if RH does die Regina will not take it out on Emma and she wont try to get revenge since she has the support and love of her whole family. However, I think the whole reason they are bringing on Jekyll/Hyde is so we can have the EQ again and not have to see Regina’s character regress. She is going to get hit with Jekyll’s potion and then she won’t be able to control the darkness inside her and the EQ will go after Emma for revenge.
I’m also still desperately holding out hope RH’s death isn’t real and that Sean will be back next season. it just seems so unfair to kill off RH..but, I know people on this forum will criticize me for talking about fairness and hope with this show…still a girl can dream!
