ParticipantI don’t understand. Did Gothel create a Land Without Magic? After she wiped out humankind? My sound went in and out a bit so I’m super confused. Can anyone explain?
Yep that is what they said, and I have to say that is the stupidest idea ever!!!!!!!!!! So Gothel created our realm 1000’s of years ago? So she is our creator? And how did humankind happen, oh well slimy creatures will always find humanity????? For this reason alone I give this episode a 2/10
By the way the entire episode was completely boring and I had to force myself to pay attention. This may be one of the worst episodes ever and definitely this season.
Liked:
Henry is finally starting to believe, I actually liked him trying analyze his book and figure out who everyone is.
Nook and Tilly working together. I like the fact that Nook did not need any proof that he was Tilly’s father he just felt it and believed. I also liked that Tilly just knew also.
Music: I actually paid a lot of attention to the music this episode and it was really good, probably goes to show how much I did not like the actual plot
Disliked: Too many to name so I will just hit the highlights
Costumes: I am not a costume person but wow those were bad. The butterflies in the hair? I don’t know what they were trying to go with but it failed
Gothel: so she became a villain because some random girl she knew for one day was mean to her and threw mud on her. I get that the person then killed her family but honestly this made no sense. How did the mean girl even get to that place which was locked behind a tree door? So a group of magical beings could not keep a mean human with no magic from killing them? This whole thing was completely contrived and made little to no sense. She then goes to a party kills the mean girl, and sprays the rest of them with pollen? What????
Lucy why would you go to Regina’s maybe boyfriend for help? What is the connection there?
Henry and Jacinda: I know we should care about them but I don’t and I am actually annoyed every time I see them on screen, and what is really sad is that this goes for Lucy too. Writers just break the curse so we can move on from this train accident of a relationship with no chemistry.

ParticipantActually put me in the boat that says the Guardian is either Alice or Facilier. But I am starting to get a strong feeling that Facilier is actually a good guy. His connection to the dead is too convenient considering Rumple and Belle’s predicament, and the fact that Regina keeps trusting this guy. She already was right to trust him when he said he didn’t have the dagger. But we know he wants the dagger…..so unless he just wants it for power (this is what I think Gothel wants and Facilier is trying to stop her), then he may just want the dagger so he can be the Guardian. I feel like they have left his reasoning for wanting the dagger ambiguous on purpose. This would not explain why he just doesn’t tell Rumple, but perhaps he needs Rumple to be a good person again before he takes the dark one powers from him in order to reunite with Belle. We know Rumple sacrificed himself basically to save Alice. Now, perhaps Facilier is just waiting until Rumple is ready to be able to move on to Belle. Perhaps saving his grandson from the curse and making it up to Regina is what needs to happen…..This all just seems like a ruse to get us to think Facilier is a bad guy when he is actually not. To me, Regina trusting him like this is a huge indicator that he is actually a good person but cannot reveal it yet because of reasons.
Yeah I go back and forth on this theory also. Maybe the whole thing with Facilier showing up at the shrine was to test Rumple? I mean he was definitely tempted to do the wrong thing with Alice and he could have easily have sacrificed Alice to get back to Belle. Maybe it is going to be that Facilier can take the dagger but only if Rumple proves that he is worthy of not being the dark one any longer, that he has a pure heart? So while Rumple was testing Alice, Facilier was testing Rumple?

ParticipantSuicidal wishes are as dark as wishes ever get. Rumpel won’t get rid of his darkness by continuing to embrace his death wish.
I don’t think he wants to commit suicide, I think he wants to live and die like a normal mortal person. I don’t think that is dark, I actually think it is quite the opposite.
t’s hugely disrespectful, too, to Belle, for Rumpel to keep insisting that she is the source of all the goodness in his life, that she is the source of his entire capacity to be a good person. That’d be emotional blackmail if Belle wasn’t already dead. As it is, Rumpel is just offloading all of his responsibility to manage his own life onto someone who can’t fight back.
Again I disagree, I don’t think he thinks Belle IS the goodness in him, he stated that Belle was always able to SEE the good in him. Rumple has always thought the worst of himself even before he was the dark one, Belle helps him see the good inside of himself and to live up to that potential. That isn’t selfish, emotional blackmail, or even offloading responsibility, that is trying to be the best version of ourselves and have the person we love be proud of us. It is what love is.
What did you think of this sacrifice?
I think the sacrifice proves everything I just said, that Rumple is a good person who wants to make right decisions. He does this not to get back to Belle but because he truly is who Belle has always seen, a Good Man with a Pure Heart.

Participantthink Alice is still the Guardian, Rumple is trying to find a way for him to be rid of the dagger with giving her the immortality that goes with it.
I agree, I think Alice is the guardian of the dagger which I think was proved this episode. I wonder how the dagger got into her possession? Did she go in a take it without realizing it? Did it just magic its way into her backpack? I do like how the dagger is talking to her, they actually established that in Season 5 with Emma who could hear the dagger.

ParticipantI liked this episode, but that is not surprising since it was largely focused on the only two characters that I truly care about this season, Rumple and Alice I give it a 8.5/10
Liked:
Just like everyone else before me said, Robert Carlyle is a beast of an actor who did an awesome job!!!!!
Rumple and Alice: Wow how far has Rumple come! That was an absolutely beautiful moment of him sacrificing his happiness and quest to make sure that Alice (who is the daughter of a man who for a long time he hated) can have a happy, normal, and satisfying life full of love and adventures.
Alice as the Guardian: This at least makes sense, since she is literally the first person he sees when he comes to the EF2. To know that she is still the guardian and still protecting the dagger is kinda cool too. How they are going to resolve this, I don’t know but I like what they did with it this episode.
I loved the shrine to Belle and I haven’t seen the new movie but I thought his moments there could have come off as too mushy and sweet but didn’t. I think it is in character for Rumple to do a private over the top shrine.
I know everyone likes to see the softer side of Rumple and him making all the right decisions, but I also enjoy seeing the don’t mess with me side of him. He is a guy who when he feels cornered, he will bite back. As I have said in the past, and continually believe Rumple very rarely is the aggressor but man when he feels threatened watch out. For that reason alone, I loved the scenes between him and Facilier.
Alice and Tilly were sweet and I loved their time together. Alice is just an outstanding character in all
Mixed:
Rumple choosing to use the powder to find the dagger. I think the writers want us to forget what someone can do with that dagger (completely control the dark one which could be incredibly destructive in the wrong hands) and think that Rumple is being selfish and self serving. Should he have gone about this another way, absolutely but it seems that Rumple can continue to make a really bad decision and at the same time I still always manage to feel incredibly sad for him. He was so disappointed in himself.
Regina stating that no matter what Rumple says to himself he hasn’t changed and that despite everything they have gone through he still does not trust her. I get why she is upset. In her eyes, Rumple has again sacrificed Henry’s happiness for his gains, but let’s face it we haven’t seen any actual growth in their relationship in a long time. Rumple and Regina have been at odds forever. Season 4-6 we did not see any growth actually I think their relationship deteriorated greatly in those seasons. So why should he trust her, she was willing to let him die in season 5 (she actually told Belle that his life was a risk they were going to have to take). I also think that the writers always want to throw out that Henry is Rumple’s grandson but unfortunately as I said a couple of episodes ago, they have not had a relationship since Bae’s death. Henry has totally disassociated himself from Rumple’s side so Rumple’s decision would have to be make sure someone who should not have the dagger does not have it or keep Henry is a state of ignorance a while longer. I actually think he made the right choice, but I know he feels bad about it, and Regina stating that he has not changed is going to make Rumple doubt himself. He is at his core a man who does not believe in himself (Which is Why Belle was so good for him, because he needed that reassurance that he was a good man) and I just hope that this does not slide him backwards.
Regina why haven’t you asked Facilier what he wants with the dagger? Why would you continue in a relationship with a guy who you know is trying to control someone who you think should trust you? Really and your upset with Rumple?

ParticipantI liked this episode, I give it a 8.5/10
Liked:
Lana did a really good job directing, the story focused on one story line and flowed really well.
Zelena’s line I guess you can take the dark one out of the pawn shop. She does get really good one liners.
Zelena: For a character I absolutely HATED (like I did not feel any sympathy/empathy for her at all) when she first appeared, then felt completely annoyed by, eventually thought was kind of funny but still wished she was gone, I am completely surprised that I am happy she got a happy ending. I mean I was like Yeah for Zelena (never thought that would happen)
Flashback: The flashback was really interesting and completely in character with Zelena. Zelena has always been a very powerful but insecure witch who really just wants someone to love her. She always seems to get really close to doing the right thing and then one thing goes wrong and she reverts back to being wicked. This is because she is constantly looking for approval from other people (Cora, Rumple, Hades, Hansel’s father, etc.) instead of truly liking the person she is.
Present Day: I thought this story was really good also. The dialogue between Nick and Henry was good and the interactions between characters seemed spot on.
Zelena and Robyn: Zelena stating that her happiness began with Robyn I thought that was a very sweet moment, I wish Margot could really understand the importance of that statement by having her memories.
Zelena and Regina: They have come a long way from two sisters who tried to hurt each other to loving and caring about each others happiness. Regina giving Zelena permission to go and be happy was outstanding. Erin will love that Regina gave her a shout out of “We are Both”
Zelena and Rumple: I liked the fact that they did not try and brush their relationship under the rug. These two don’t like each other and with really good reasons. Still thought it was nice that Rumple decides to help even if Zelena used Belle against him to do this. Even in death Belle is being used to manipulate Rumple. I loved that Rumple is still dishing out really good advice (you need the dark piece to remind you how far you have come and what you have to loose) He has come a long way!!!!
Mixed/Disliked:
Facilier: He is so confusing, one moment I think maybe he could be good the next nope definitely a villain. Not grey but he is either black or white which is very confusing. So Facilier woke Nick up so that he would kill Gothel so he would not have competition for the dark one dagger? That would have been great but Gothel has not even mentioned the dagger yet so how do we know she wants it? Background would be good.
Rogers/Jacinda: Okay Jacinda if you were going to notice that you would have noticed it the first time you read it not after Rogers for some unknown reason asks you to reread a 10 word sentence. Very convenient for both Rogers and Jacinda.
Henry: When you are tied up by a serial killer do not argue with him!!!!! You are supposed to deescalate the situation not escalate it. Although I have to say that Nick said what we are all thinking that for the guy with the heart of the truest believer you are having a really hard time believing.

ParticipantAnyone wanna hazard a guess as to how Wyatt’s very dead wife is alive??
No idea but completely happy that they did this. This is what I have been asking for all along. When one thing changes it should change several things in the future. So like Sci-Fi Girl stated it was probably some random guy who got killed in Hollywood that was related to the killer. It was probably the most excited I have been about this show in a long time, I loved the twist.
AKA
ParticipantWas not feeling this one, I found the flashbacks pretty darn boring and cheesy. I give it a 5/10
Liked:
Lucy stating to Zelena yeah you are not very good around kids. That was probably her best line of the series.
Tilly and Margo with a T: I think these two are incredibly cute together and really play off each other well.
Margot and Zelena: I thought there moments together were good. I liked how Tilly got Margot to see the other side of the coin and to feel some empathy towards her mom.
Rumple and Henry: I liked how Rumple was trying to be a good grandpa to Henry. Let’s face it neither one of them has been very close to each other for a long time. Henry even states it in the flashback my grandparents are Prince Charming and Snow White. He never even mentions his father’s side of the family which would be Rumple and Belle. This is not the first time this has happened either, Henry for the most part has disassociated himself from Rumple since he stopped working in his shop right after his dad died. Rumple on his side has totally written Henry off since season 4 also. It just seems that once Bae died the two of them should have been closer knowing that they were all that they had left of Bae but instead after the shop incident they both totally forgot they were related. I believe it was done so the OUAT did not have to talk about Bae’s death and how it effected both Rumple and Henry except in a very small and superficial way. As a result we got a very sad and frustrating relationship between these two. For example in Season 5 when they went to the underworld both Henry and Rumple wanted to look for Bae and yet did not even discuss their common interest together, they both went their separate ways looking for the same person. Anyway I think it is nice how they are at least trying to address this. I thought it was very sweet that Rumple stated that Henry was his favorite character not because he was a little kid full of light and hope but he was a determined little kid willing to fight for both the light and hope.
Disliked/Mixed
All of the flashbacks: It was boring and cheesy and I really disliked all of it. Can’t think of a nice thing to say
Henry and Jacinda: Really writers no one is feeling it, so stop wasting time on their relationship.
Hansel being the killer is fine and apparently Zelena is next. I guess this was okay and moved this plot line along, I just don’t know how this is relevant to wrapping up the series. I thought Henry and Nick did a good job with this scene and I was actually a little worried for Henry.
AKA
ParticipantSo is Jack actually Hansel. I mean that would make some sense. Gretel said that he was traumatized both physically and emotionally and he uses candy to send his death card. Maybe he is seeking revenge on the witches for killing his sister who was trying to join them. The other question is how did Gothel know that Ivy would be the next victim. Did she find that box of candy on her doorstep or something? That scene did not make much sense.
AKA
ParticipantWell let’s hope so or Rumple’s story line this season makes no sense. He has spent something like the last 12 years or so looking for the Guardian so unless they are going to do some kind of twist where he is the one who can lay down the dark one dagger and become mortal they are going to have to come up with another Guardian. I know my theory is really silly but maybe it is Facilier. I mean we still have no idea why he wants the dark one dagger, maybe it was in the cards that Facilier is to take the dagger from Rumple and release him from the curse. This would also put Facilier in the definitely good guy pile and allow Regina to live happily ever after with him. If not it better be Henry or Alice because that was the first people Rumple met when he came to EF2 and therefore makes the most sense.
