ParticipantTLK, when it works, is quick. There’s an instantaneous whoosh with a distinctive visual effect, and the curse is completely broken. That didn’t happen happen with Rumpel and Belle. Even their first kiss, which seemed to be slowly transforming him before he pulled away, had a different visual effect from the whoosh.
OUAT has shown this is how all curses (at least all curses I can think of) have ended. When Rumple killed his mom and ended her curse there was an instantaneous whoosh with a distinctive visual effect, and the curse was completely broken. I certainly don’t think that curse was broken out of or with true love. I do believe the rules may be different for the dark one and that the dark one’s essence would try and fight the curse which would make it slower process.
writers just danced around the fact because they didn’t want to give Rumple and Belle a final TLK
The writers like writing Rumple as the dark one and have no idea how to write him any other way that is why no TLK. They wanted to reform Rumple this season but still want to be able to say that he may make wonkey decisions and blame it on the curse. They wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

ParticipantI’m thinking it must be that Henry and/or others die. My thought is are we now going to be shown Drizella creating the curse over the next 10 years in flashbacks?
Yep that is what I thought also, at the very least Henry would die. The question becomes how is a sorcerer who is just beginning to know magic figuring this out. It took Rumple over 150 years to figure this out and we are now saying some young girl who just learned magic will figure it out in about 10. I think this is where the witch comes in, maybe she became the evil teacher who helps Ivy develop and cast the curse.

ParticipantI thought during the scene tonight that Drizella was going to try and kill Anastasia so her mom could not bring her back, but I guess not. How did she turn her heart dark? I mean she had this vacant almost insane look and I thought she had pulled a Cora and just tore her heart out of her chest which would have also worked. How does creating the curse and moving everyone to HH make her mother suffer anyway and what are her plans for her mother? She said she was starting out small, which I would assume are the migraines? More importantly what happens if the curse breaks with true love’s kiss? I love all the questions and Ivy is definitely a fun character.

ParticipantI am excited about this one, we get to see Alice in Wonderland and Regina and Rumple. What could be better!!!!

ParticipantI thought this episode was good, my main problem is that there was so much going on it was hard to keep track of. I would give it a 8/10
Liked:
Regina and Drizilla relationship. I liked that Regina was trying to help someone who she felt was just like her. She was trying to prevent Drizilla from making the same mistakes she made.
Rumple and Regina: They were my favorite part of season 1 and I loved them in season 2 and the first half of season 3. They had this friend/enemy or teacher vs. reluctant pupil relationship that OUAT loss after season 3A. I feel that we may be getting that relationship back and it REALLY excites me.
Alice: I say this every episode she is in, but I love her she is so interesting and I look forward to seeing her more than anyone else
I love the parallels that OUAT is making with season 1, it is very deliberate and I like figuring out who is who. Ivy is Regina, Alice is Rumple, Henry is Emma, etc. I think it is fun and cool.
Ivy: She is definitely the big bad and really good at it. I wonder what will happen if Henry and Jacinda kiss? Will Henry die? Whatever it was had Regina completely upset like we have never seen her before.
Regina and Henry: I love the mother/son scenes both in the enchanted forest and in HH
Mixed:
Henry and Jacinda: I think OUAT is trying too hard. Henry doing the “Say Anything” was cheesy. The fight scene was okay and somewhat funny but also rather cheesy. I think with them less would be more
Rogers: The one thing I have always disliked about Hook and now Rogers was the dramatic angst. I mean he looked through the file and I thought hey he has thought of something, but nope he is just being angsty. I want to like this new Rogers but not if he is going to react this way about anything that upsets him.

ParticipantI think that since OUAT likes to parallel season 1 Victoria cast the curse but Ivy manipulated her into doing it. She obviously wants to break the curse now also or why would she put the picture of Regina and Henry there to be found. I can see no other reason for her to do that. I don’t know what her motivation is, but I am hoping it is more than just revenge on her mother for being abusive and not favoring her. The other confusion is the lady in the tower is apparently working with Ivy to manipulate Victoria, so what is the witch’s motivation? I thought at first she wanted to bring Anastasia back from the dead like Victoria, but now not so sure. I would think that if Ivy’s motivation is revenge on mom she would try and keep Anastasia dead.

ParticipantI also think we will see him again. I kinda thought when he disappeared he used black smoke magic which I kinda thought could be the shadow from the end of last season.

ParticipantOverall a pretty decent episode. I was entertained throughout 8/10
Liked:
The frog was turned into a prince. That was pretty entertaining twist and I enjoyed it.
Tiana discovering that she doesn’t need to find a prince to be her hero but that she was a hero herself she just needed to discover it (love that message especially for little girls)
Dr. Facilier was interesting and intriguing. I hope we get to see a lot more of him
Ivy being the big bad, Kudos to everyone who guessed that. So Ivy is awake along with Victoria, Rumple, and whoever is on the top floor. I don’t think this curse is going to last very long especially with the preview for next week. I wonder what Ivy’s motivation is and why she and the witch are working together to manipulate her mom.
Roni trying to protect Henry even when she doesn’t know that she is his mom.
Mixed:
I am still not feeling Jacinda, I don’t know what it is but she comes off as emotionally impulsive and a little mean. I mean who takes all the money and is perfectly happy throwing her roommate out of the apartment. If the show is going to do this they also need to show us her transformation and guilt afterwards. Instead we got some stupid line about how Lucy called her and talked sense into her. Didn’t buy it. But on the positive side I did like how she talked about how Tiana is always there to lift her up and that she now realizes that she needs to return the favor. That would have been way more effective if she had come to that realization on her own without Lucy’s pep talk and then have both her and Tiana decide to buy a food truck together as a friendship decision.
Hook’s missing girl case. Unless last week was a red hearing we already know that Alice is the missing girl so we are no longer invested. If they want to revisit that mystery what they need to do a haha moment Alice is not the one so we can become reinvested and continue to figure it out. If she is the missing girl you already ruined it so we no longer care about the mystery.
No Alice or Weaver they are incredibly entertaining

ParticipantRight, but Belle had to die in order for him to escape the dark one magic right? And now we just don’t know what that magic is? Just that it has to do with the guardian?
I think Belle had to die so he could find the path to the guardian who will be able to let the darkness rest. I am not sure Alice is the guardian, I am not sure who is but I think it might be someone connected with the Cinderella/Dead Prince story. In episode 1 Alice tells Henry not to interfere with the story because “bad” things could happen and she was told to tell him this by Rumple. What if Henry interfering in the story, made Rumple loose the path to the guardian and the only way to find it back was to curse the NEF which would make Rumple the curse’s maker maybe not the person who cast the curse but the person who manipulates the caster to cast the curse.

ParticipantRumple dying in the end and reuniting with Belle in the afterlife would be a beautiful close to both of their stories…especially if by some miracle MRJ would come back just to have a final closing scene with him and Bobby.
I will be very disappointed if this is not how the season ends. I imagine Rumple seeing Belle and saying “I’m sorry I took so long” and she sarcastically says “Well, I was getting a little impatient” they embrace and then she says “there is someone who wants to see you” and we see MRJ “Hey Pops” and Then Rumple’s “Bae” the end.
But I’m gonna assume that there’s a town nearby, because they certainly didn’t make all that furniture themselves with their own two hands. They must have gone antiquing somewhere nearby. And there was also totally a secondhand bookshop that Belle just adored. Maybe she volunteered there, doing story book readings to groups of little kids over the years.
I love this!!
