AmdillaeParticipant
I am trying to figure how I feel about what Gideon’s life tells us about the time line. Assuming (and it is probably safe to say that one should never assuming on this show ) that Gideon growing up did not travel through time-weird lands (don’t see why his parents would take him back to where his grandmother raised him, or back to Neverland :p but there could be other places other than the edge of all realms). Henry at end of season 6 was ~15 years old, and Gideon was a newborn. Gideon growing up and leaving for some post-secondary-school equivalent adds ~20 years. (Unless he was meant to be younger and they wanted to use the same actor). Lucy growing adds at 10 more years to this time line, and that is assuming she is conceived very soon. That makes Henry ~45 years old now! So it is ~2045 in Seattle! (unless this if fictional Seattle ) Emma & the Charmings are ~65. Regina is *at least* 75 (not counting time under the first curse). And Regina is at least 65 in the flashbacks. Now, about Alice. *At least* late teens when she met up with Rumple after he left The Edge of All Realms, so at least late 20s now. If so she was born around the time the Wish Realm was created, though she could be older. If the theory is that she is Wish Hook’s father, do we think their paths likely crossed in the 10 years before the new curse was enacted?
You have beaten me to the punch, I was going to start a thread call RIP Timeline, because this ep has created a massive problem. We have had Gideon age minimum 17 years by the time Rumbelle head to to the edge of realms. So in this time no one in Storybrooke has aged to the point of any physical difference as we see when they all go after Henry.
There are multiple options to explain this (none of which are particularly good)
1. A lot of the travel time for our adventuring family is in realms that have varied time compared to Storybrooke, even though we only know of Neverland, The Dark Fairy Realm and possibly Wonderland being like this
2. EF now somehow has a timeline that does not run concurrently to Storybrooke, even if previously it has
3. The writer did think it fully through and the variation in aging between characters means nothing
Sadly number 3 is most likely correct, considering other continuity errors we have been seeing lately.

AmdillaeParticipantWell it seems that killing the parents of family is a right of passage on this show.
Regina kills Leopold and Snow kills Cora, with the repercussion being overall minimal in their now wonderful relationship. Both of these were done with fairly malicious intent and with a complete understanding of the personal ramifications of the murders. By comparison Hook stabbing a witness to his murders and theft to protect himself while still in his villain persona is practically nothing.
However the way things are evolving this will become a bigger sticking point and problem than any of the other past deaths for no other reason than drama.

AmdillaeParticipantThe thing is that the fact that we have a corpse that looks like the oracle now does not mean that the oracle was not Jafar before. This body could easily be a distraction, after Jafar has decided that his disguise and relationship with Jasmine now has no value and he wants to return to his own agenda.

AmdillaeParticipantThe shears themselves raise a question about the true source of Emma’s magic. Is she magical because she is the Savior or is it from her being a product of true love? Throughout the series the two things are linked so often it is not clear which elements are the cause of the different parts of Emma’s various powers. I can see it being that the shears are used on Emma against her will (either through a villain striking against her or circumstances being such that she has no other choice) and she maintains her magic, even if it is weaken through the loss of the savior bond.

AmdillaeParticipantFrom the look of tonight the key remained in the door after it is shut behind Tremaine and Clorinda. That would mean Rumple could have have come and collected the key which he then uses to to transport Edmund?
True it is more likely that multiple keys exist but at this point we don’t really now enough to be sure of this. Such a powerful object could be unique or it could be something like the beans that were previously much more plentiful.

AmdillaeParticipantThe idea of Aladdin being a SAVIOR,, in this case as a diamond in the rough, is a good concept and there aren’t really any other Disney characters that haven’t been see already that could work for this plotline. Additional flashbacks to him dealing with the increasing symptoms of his impending doom could be a great way to contrast Emma’s fate.
Where does this fit in Jafar’s own history with regards to Wonderland?
OUATIW takes place in the original timeline, before Emma and Hook changed history.
That… is a possibility for the two plotline coexisting as canon that could actually work by some insane stretching, at least for Will but it doesn’t really help for Jafar with the time difference. It is possible that this episodes Jafar is a different man, maybe even a distant maternal ancestor of OUATIW’s Jafar. i hope it is this way because between Will’s pointless appearance and this OUATIW may as well be a dream sequence.

AmdillaeParticipantI think I saw a guy tilting at a windmill so that would mean Don Quixote.

AmdillaeParticipantYeah, that’s the thing. It’s not like Robin is the most interesting, dynamic, or vital character on this show. He’s really been under developed and it feels like the writers were just bored with him and didn’t know where to go with him next (so DEATH!) But there is something so…twisted about this idea that one semi-good-semi-helpful action allows a man who has committed multiple murders (some even very recently) to come back but allows the boring-but-mostly-good guy to stay dead (thus making fathersless two innocent kids in the process). I mean, Zeus is judge and jury here–does that mean he’s judge and jury for the Underworld too? Is it his flame that judges people and decides where they will go–the good or bad place? Why does Zeus get to decide what happens to Hook? And while he’s at it, why can’t Zeus (since he’s apparently our God-insert who can actually do these miraculous things) just bring back Robin with a wave of his hand since he seems to have literal control over life and death?????
I am wondering if the Zeus had no ability to do anything for Robin due to the factor it was the crystal that took his life and so their was nothing to revive. Could it be that a reward was due for Hades’ death in the form of a life returned and had Robin died from any other method than the crystal it might have be OutlawQueen rather than CaptainSwan with a happy reunion.
One other reason I can see for them killing off Robin is that I can see that it would have been a struggle for him to make peace with Zelena and to share their daughter fully with her. While this reaction from him is more than understandable given not only baby Robin’s conception, but Zelena’s actions aftwards, it would have created such a tension filled family environment that portraying it would have been complex, especially with the new loving bond between Regina and Zelena.

AmdillaeParticipantI am starting to think that Hades was not included to be real character in the series but as a catalyst for Zelena to redeem herself and turn to the side of light. His death is basically done as a way for her to show that she is willing to forsake what could be her own happiness to do what is right and save Regina in the process. Before this episode he showed that she believes in the redeeming power of love which is a huge step for her. While she has being claiming all season that baby Robin will be someone who can love her Zelena has had less focus on her loving in return, make a it selfish claim on her end. By showing what she is willing to do in the name of loving Hades has shown her development as a character. Was this a waste of what could have been done with the Lord of the Underworld as a character, yes it was but it was an interesting urn of events at least.

AmdillaeParticipantBut Cora did get her hand inside Emma’s chest and even around her heart. It was the actual removal that was the issue. Regina, if I remember the scene correctly, couldn’t even get that far.
No you are right RG, so we have a issue occur that has happen before and everyone knows has been an issue before but we have to witness is it an issue but not consistence to how it was an issue. Honestly does anyone look after continuity on the show at this point, I am starting to have some serious doubts.
