How is Baelfire being Henry’s father going to benefit the whole story?? How is this going to make this show that much greater?? I do not like this idea. not at all….
It would connect of all the characters and make them family. Well…most of the main characters. And don’t get so emotional over it. It’s just sepculation. 🙁
I agree. I like the idea of the Charmings being connected to Rumpel. It would make their relationship just that much more complicated. It would create more drama. I’m a drama queen, what can i say? 😆

No he wasn’t she lied to him. She never told him the truth of his father. He was no one special
Even though Emma did lie about his father being a fireman, the fact that she chose that career could be a clue. I know, I know, it’s a long shot idea. I simply find it fun speculating 🙂
Writers (especially these writers) like to throw out little clues and hints that at the time, don’t seem to be that important, but in the end, turn out to be very important.
an empty heartParticipantI could have sworn true love’s kiss could only break curses. Belle’s kiss almost broke Rumpel’s curse, and Charming’s kiss broke Snow’s sleeping curse.

Whoa. AWESOME. I also remember them saying that Henry’s father would play an important role on the show.
I really like the connection between the name and the occupation. Baelfire and firefighter. Really cool. 😉

I sent this theory to OncePodcast regarding Bae being the Wizard of Oz and Henry’s father.
Bae was transported through the green vortex to a different realm, possibly Oz and actually became the Wizard of Oz. This would be one of those twists that OUaT writers like to throw in. Bae was trying to escape magic but ends up as the Wizard with kind of “magic”. Time could pass differently in this other realm in relation to both SB and FTL, accounting for why Bae has not yet died while Rumple is hundreds of years old.
My thinking that Bae is in Oz is because it is possible to view other realms when in Oz, based on the Wicked Witch having shown Dorothy her Aunt Em (in the movie version). Perhaps Bae has been able to follow Rumple distantly and knows that his father has been putting together the curse for purposes of trying to reunite with Bae. Bae even knows that Emma is the key to breaking the curse.
Eventual Bae finds a way to our world (maybe helped by Dorothy). He comes to try to protect Emma and ends up in an intimate relation with her, and Henry is conceived. For some reason, Bae in unable to remain in our world and must return to Oz. Emma thinks he has run out on her, she goes on to have her baby in jail. Likely Bae is working with August as the green phone Auguat is using @ beginning of The Return sure looks as if it could be a hotline to Oz (or he was calling Batman :D).
For fans of The Terminator: This is a little akin to John Connor sending a protector into the past for his mother (Sarah Connor) with the protector actually becoming the father of Sarah Conner’s child. Sarah Conner gave birth to her child in a jail/asylum and the child was placed into foster care much like Henry was adopted by the Mayor. I also see much of Sarah Connor’s tough fighting spirit in Emma. And in The Terminator series, Sarah Connor had to prepare her son and others for the “Final Battle” against the machines. Kind of like Emma will lead the Final Battle against the EQ.
I love this theory! I have a soft spot for the Wizard of Oz theories, and I’m also beginning to think that Baelfire is Henry’s father. Hopefully, one of the two will be correct. 😉

Snow was like 13ish in that episode.
Oh, good! I started getting nervous over here. 😆
I agree, King Arthur, he and Morraine were adorable together. 😉
Does anyone else think that Baelfire may be Henry’s father? The producers said that when Henry’s father is finally revealed, it will be an “ah-hah!” moment. We already know that Baelfire jumped through a time hole into our world. And Emma said that Henry’s father was older than her. And someone also mentioned that he was a firefighter. Baelfire=Firefighter. A HAH!
That’s exactly what I’m thinking. We’ll find out soon enough. 😉
And like the rest of you, I really loved the actor who played Baelfire. Hopefuly, we’ll get more flashbacks of him. But I doubt he’ll still be 14 years old when we see him again in Storybrooke. He’ll probably be an adult. But then again, having Baelfire be a handsome adult male does have its upsides.
an empty heartParticipantI’m choosing to have a positive outlook on Belle’s future. 😀

I feel like it would be difficult for anyone to try to actively overthrow Rumpel. Regina is the easier target. She openly goes after people and turns potential allies into enemies. Strategicly, she’s the weaker player. Mr. Gold knws that Emma is powerful, and instead of making an enemy out of her, he tries to warm up to her and create an alliance.
Rumpel also has a slight leg up because he’s made deals with so many people in both Storybrooke and Fairytale land. If they try to go against him, he could always throw in their face that they were the ones who contacted him and agreed to a deal without asking questions. The moral ambiguity of some of the characters is very complex and confusing sometimes. Sometimes the “good guys” side with the “bad guys.”
I agree. The presence of the show’s villains is having an odd effect on the nature of the good guys. They’re making deals and associating themselves with people who they would usually slay on first sight. Desperate times…

No worries. I just don’t understand why thinking Rumpel is evil seems like such an off the wall theory especially because it seems like all the characters on the show think he is evil. Isn’t that the implication? I don’t want to argue, but no worries. All good on my part.
No, I understand. *Hugs You* 😀
