I have doubts that ABW= “A Wooden Boy” is intentional, although I do believe he is Pinocchio. I will say this much….if he’s *not* Pinocchio, they sure have some ‘splainin to do for all the clues that point to him!

All we know is that Bae went to a place with no magic- the Blue Fairy sent him through time and space she said, so it’s possible he went to the modern era in our world. Having him be Henry’s father would connect him back to Storybrooke giving him a reason to show up again. I’m not entirely convinced, but it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility.

He was a good man to begin with but when he gained evil power, it was only his love for Bae that kept that spark of humanity in him.
angiebelleParticipantOf course they will- we will get an entire amazing back story no matter what the truth turns out to be! That’s what makes this show so awesome. I totally trust the writers.
angiebelleParticipantYeah- I was skeptical on the whole turning back into wood theory…but now I’m thinking it could be so….it would certainly explain August’s behavior.
angiebelleParticipantI’m a huge Disney fan, and now I’m always going to think of the OuaT counterparts to all the animated films whenever I see them.
angiebelleParticipantI thought about it- and while I don’t think August is Peter Pan, the idea that Bae ended up in Neverland and became Peter is cool and could work! After seeing that promo, it does look as if Bae was sent to another land. I could buy him becoming Peter.
I’m dying to know who August was on the phone with in that sneak peak!
I don’t think they should introduce time travel in this show. I love time travel, but it is very difficult to do well, and it would just complicate things. IMO, time travel works best when it is a story’s main convention and not just one of a bunch of magical conventions in a story.
angiebelleParticipantOh yeah- maybe it is a donkey! I saw a wolf initially, but you could be right. I have been fighting so hard for the Pinocchio theory that I’m going to feel really embarrassed if I’m wrong.
I do think that if I’m right and he is Pinocchio, there is still a whole interesting backstory that we haven’t heard yet. Some people think the idea that he is Pinocchio would be disappointing, but I think it’s full of potential. He grew up- and we have no idea what turns his life might have taken during that time. Nor do we know the show’s take on the traditional story. There are still many directions that they could take this.
August does seem to have a connection to Mr. Gold…but Mr. Gold has a connection to Pinocchio’s story through Gepetto since his spell turned Gepetto’s parents into puppets. Mr. Gold has a connection to Jimminy too. So who knows?
angiebelleParticipantGak! She is making me second guess my convictions! I really hope it’s not an elaborate mislead…..I *hate* when shows do that. I *hate* being fooled. I still think August is Pinocchio…about 90% sure, but for the record, that still leaves 10% for doubt.
And the paperweight is a woodcarving- still points to Pinocchio….but it’s also a wolf- which doesn’t..
angiebelleParticipantOoh…I cannot wait!
So much for my idea that Kathryn would remember fairytale land! Oh well.
