While I still hold NealFire Pan faith (if only because I think Pan is a title that is passed to each new leader) it’s becoming increasingly less likely. BUT, my pet theory about how he got to NL is the bean: the second Rumple let go of his hand, Bae became an orphan and the portal changed where it sent Bae.
That was my same thought actually- that he became a “lost boy” when his father let him go and he was automatically sent to Neverland. That is what finally got me to warm up to the Neverland theory after being adamantly against it since last year.
[adrotate group="5"]angiebelleParticipantWell, I have been wrong in the past- I didn’t think Cora was the Queen of Hearts for the longest time, and I was completely against the idea that Neal had any connection to Neverland (I’m still hoping he isn’t Peter). I am still wondering how he ended up in a land that did have magic after all.
I guess we will have to wait and see!

I could be wrong, but think it’s too late in the season to introduce Ariel. The last two episodes are about Neverland- I don’t think Ariel would be in Neverland because last year in “Skin Deep” Regina says something to Rumple about a certain mermaid. Ariel ought to get her own story- not appear as a cameo in someone else’s.
This has been brought up many times so I’ll just give the highlights of the argument.
1) Mermaid Lagoon in Neverland makes perfect sense for Ariel
2) Mermaids can exist in many lands and the “certain mermaid” doesn’t have to refer to Ariel.
3) Phee postulated that water can be a portal, or have portal like things in them, that would allow for cross land travel for mermaids
4) We think Ariel is going to play a huge role in S3 and introducing her now is a way of doing that. It may just be a quick glimpse of her before we get into S3.Pretty sure the “certain mermaid” line was a deliberate Ariel reference- I thought I remembered them stating as much.
In the Disney mythology at least, the Neverland mermaids are all girls, and they are mean. They almost drown Wendy! Ariel lives in a whole ocean kingdom with a father who forbids human contact. The Neverland mermaids bask at the surface all the time and adore Peter Pan.
And while I might be able to buy Ariel being in Neverland, I would be hard pressed to imagine Prince Eric there.
I suppose this new character *could* be Ariel. I’m not saying it’s completely out of the realm of possibility. I’m just rather skeptical.
Incidentally, if you ride the Peter Pan ride at Walt Disney World, they did paint one of the mermaids at the lagoon to look like Ariel!

I thought that too but the interview with Josh he stated a new land so I am guessing NL.
I only watched the Disney version a long time ago but don’t remember her losing her voice ❓
You don’t remember Ariel losing her voice? That’s like a major plot point! She trades her voice to Ursula in order to get legs and be with Prince Eric.
angiebelleParticipantHm…I like to write stuff- I have my own Disney blog and a travel blog and a creative writing blog, although I haven’t been posting that often.

angiebelleParticipantYup- spotting Lacey and Gold together was the highlight of that last sneak peek for me. 🙂 now we know what those pics were from. I wish we could hear what they were saying. I was wondering if we’d see them at all in this episode.
Regina is sure evil in this episode! With the whole redemption arc this season, we sometimes forget that she is supposed to be the Evil Queen of storybook legend.
angiebelleParticipantThank you for the explanation of Stockholm Syndrome- I *knew* Belle didn’t fit! Hearing that Belle has Stockholm Syndrome is one of my biggest pet peeves of all the complaints people have about the princess characters. I’m glad to know I’m not just being biased.
I wonder if it will end up being Gold who eventually has to bring out the good in Lacey for a change. I agree that Lacey came across as darker than Emilie implied. It was positively disturbing to watch her practically cheer Gold on as he beat Keith with his cane. I think Gold will slip for a while, unable to resist that his darkness turns Lacey on, but eventually he will realize that he will lose Belle if he continues.
I wonder what effect being Lacey will have on Belle once her memories come back. I think she’ll be horrified that she behaved like that! And she will also be horrified at Gold’s behavior. I think that maybe that is what Emilie meant by resolution- Belle will remember again but everything is going to be such a shock for her that things might not be all hunky dory afterwards.
angiebelleParticipantWow! Intriguing!
Oh Regina…when will you ever learn?
Funny to hear Snow point out what we’ve been saying- that her “superpower” isn’t always reliable- except this time she is dead right!
angiebelleParticipantThey’ve been putting them out later and later lately!
