ParticipantPhilip may know as part of the curse. That’s the only thing I can think of. And I do realize that everyone thinks Belle knows how to read Chinese due to the fact that she reads a lot, but in reality I am skeptical. I know it’s not real live, but I have been studying Chinese for over 10 years now and it is not a language you pick up easily. That said I think it is totally awesome that OUaT did a Chinese ep to introduce Mulan.

ParticipantThat I would like very much. No power outside Storybrooke. Otherwise I feel like it gets out of hand too much.

ParticipantTrue, they did sail from FTL. However, how do you sail from FTL to this world? I do agree with that they do not have a counterpart in this world to go ‘back’ to. It worries me that she may be able to leave Storybrooke and except for Emma not one of the heroes can follow to do anything about it. It makes me wonder when the county line ‘curse’ will be lifted.

It might have just been a citizen–someone that played a minor role. or maybe just someone we have never seen before. We might find out next episode.
I agree with that. Daniel also said in the initial reaction that this person might be like a Gus character. Someone from FTL but minor. I am happy Archie was in the hold of the ship, because I feared it was going to be Belle. Although when you think about it she would not know Storybrooke’s secrets so if I had paid attention to that line we all know it couldn’t have been her.

ParticipantI love the Character of Regina and the evilness about her. She is trying to change, we can tell, but I have to say that I didn’t feel sorry for her. However I do agree with what Daniel said in the initial reactions though. If you want to have Regina sway back to evil, leaving her like that may push her.

ParticipantIt’s the “I have to say something nice over the dead” speech. I didn’t like that scene very much. We all know that Queen Regina was only thinking of herself always. I do think she loved her father, but even he needed to go.

ParticipantI also had the same thought on Rumple being able to rip hearts out and him teaching this to Cora and later to Regina I imagine. I don’t know why I thought it was only a Regina thing and at first was surprised at seeing him do it, but it made sense when I stopped and thought of it.
It is great seeing new villains rise though, especially if the current villains are trying to become nice.

I couldn’t help but think that Rumpel had paternal feeling for Regina, like he was her dad. I’m not saying he’s her biological dad, per se, but like her adopted father.
I felt the same way. He was creeping me out with all of that and definitely gave me the dad vibe. Than I realized that she probably was supposed to be his like you said in your theory above.

Rumpel is the villain we all love, Regina is the villain we love to hate, and Cora is the villain we all just hate.
Yup, totally agree with that. And we needed a villain to just hate, especially if they are trying to redeem Regina, Although I think there’s a catch to that, just haven’t figured out what it is yet.

ParticipantThere is one thing I hope they are not going to though and that is to make her into a typical Chinese character with Kungfu skills. I live in China and get enough of that a it is and it is very stereo typical. I understand she is a soldier/knight, but I really hope yet keep the Kungfu out of it. I haven’t made up my mind yet and seeing all your responses have been very insightful.
